Recommendations for harness/leash for outside walking.

My ragdoll is 12lbs. I want to take him outside safely. Does anyone have recommendations on a harness?

Would 3 be too much?

Hello! I have an 11 year old Siamese and a 4 year old ragdoll, I’ve really been wanting a boy as my 2 are girls. The only problem is I live in a one bedroom apartment and I don’t know if that will be enough room. It’s not a tiny apartment but it’s not huge either, I have room for 3 litter boxes, I already have 2 towers and numerous cat beds but I’m unsure if this would still be too small a space for 3 cats I believe it’s around 800 square feet. I love my cats and they are spoiled and I would love to spoil another but I would never want to get another if it would make it hard living in the space I live in.

Ragdolls Breeder recommendations for BC

I’m looking for recommendations for breeders near Vancouver BC. Willing to drive as far as the Okanagan or to Washington (as far as Seattle). Hoping to hear your personal experiences!

Will getting another cat help my ragdoll?

My cat has lost all interest in cat toys (stopping his exercise) and begs for food a lot more than normal. I think it's because I have been working so much. I work from home but he's extremely vocal so I don't let him hangout in the room too often. He is the type of cat that likes to meow about everything and I work on the telephone. He eats a lot of food at night too while I am asleep and wakes me up in the night begging for food. I was also thinking diet cat food too. But would another cat be a good idea?

Anybody else’s little friend shake after vet visit?

Hi guys, I’ve got a 4 month old ragdoll. My wife took her to the vet today to get her final rounds of baby shots. I know she got a rabies shot, but I’m not sure what the other one was. She also had her blood drawn.

It’s been about 3 hours and my wife called me saying that she was shaking and was only opening one eye for a few minutes. She’s not shaking now and has both her eyes open, but we’re just hoping someone else has had a similar experience. Is this just a side effect of the scary vet visit? It sounds like she did very well while she was there so we didn’t think she’d have many issues.

She called the vet and they just told us to bring her in if she wasn’t better tomorrow, they didn’t really give us any information or advice.

This is all day, everyday...

...Door, window, wall, cabinet, blinds, floor, you name it.

Shits in the litter box ... Refuses to do it there and cover it. lol. 😵‍💫

Make it make sense!🤣

But no I don't mind cuz it's super cute & she's just got her little quirks about her. She also has this incessant need to be a Rugrat and burrow under every blanket, cover, space rug, welcome mat, etc. in the house. Does these things everyday. She's nonstop quirky weird behavior that never gets old or not entertaining. Then the different dynamics of her relationships with her older sister and brother are a whole nother story. Shes been a joy tho, even in her most ridiculous & silly days.

I need help with my cat’s separation anxiety.

I got my ragdoll, Chanel, back In may. He’s the sweetest baby ever, super affectionate, really clingy, energetic and an overall happy cat with a love for company. We’re super bonded and he follows me wherever I go, his preference for me is blatant.

What’s been quite frustrating for my family and I is his EXTREME separation anxiety from me. Every morning he meows until I let him into my room, or he will not move a single muscle and will not eat until I am home, in his line of sight and with him. He will stay at my front door for hours and will meow until he tires himself out. He’s also picked up a bad habit at clawing at the carpet upstairs when he waits for me and it’s causing tension within my family and I desperately want to keep him because he’s my buddy and just a sweet love.

I can’t even shower by myself because he keeps banging his head on the door and clawing at the carpet. And yes he does have scratching polls and plenty of toys that we use with him daily.

Overall it’s a little bit too much and I love him and his company, but obviously sometimes I want some time alone in my room in which he’s not allowed in for the most part. We do have another cat which he sometimes plays with, but the two aren’t that friendly as they have only recently begun to accept and tolerate each other, both being extremely jealous of the other.

Does anyone have any advice or experiences with their cats having separation anxiety, and how did you deal with it? (He’s currently on my lap as I type)

First-time pet owner – Questions about preparing home for a ragdoll kitten!

Hi all! I’m a soon-to-be first-time pet owner and am preparing for (possibly) a male Ragdoll kitten. I’ve been researching a lot but have a few questions about setting up to welcome the kitten. I'd also like to keep things on a budget, so any advice on where I can cut costs would be very much appreciated! Or if I should buy certain things first, and then buy other things later. I'm probably going to source most of the items from Amazon, except for the actual food, treats, and litter.

Location of Items: I mostly stay in my bedroom during the day, at my desk. Do I need to keep duplicate items in different rooms since I'm not always in my room, on the top floor (i.e. do I need multiple food and water bowls, cat beds, cat trees, etc.)? Please note, the top floor is carpeted!

List of stuff needed (I think):

Toy related:

  • cat toy kit
  • yeowww stinkies set
  • electronic cat toy
  • frog noise toy
  • tower ball track
  • chew toy stick set
  • kicker toy set
  • clicker training

Feeding related:

  • elevated food bowl
  • elevated water bowl
  • rubber mat
  • dry food (breeder free-feeds)
  • treats appropriate for kittens
  • vittles vault 25lb
  • Should I get a slow feeder dish now, or should I wait until my kitten is 6+ months? For wet food only. I'm planning to continue free feeding dry food, while introducing wet food too.
  • Do I keep the bowls in my bedroom initially and then move them to the lower/main floor later? I’m planning to keep their bowls in the kitchen.

Furniture:

  • soft cat bed/sofa
  • large-ish cat tree
  • cardboard scratchers
  • scratching post
  • scratch bed/sofa
  • Do I need multiple soft cat beds and cat trees? One for my room, one for the living room? One for window perching??

Litter related:

  • XL, open, high wall stainless steel litter box with steps attached
  • stainless steel scoop
  • tracking litter mat
  • litter genie
  • breeder’s litter
  • cleaning agents - any recommendations?
  • I’m planning to keep their litter box in my bathroom which is attached to my room, but maybe I should keep one in the powder room on the lower floor as well? Should I keep a litter genie in there too?

Hygiene related:

  • nail clippers
  • toothbrush
  • toothpaste
  • brush
  • comb
  • paw cream
  • oatmeal shampoo
  • towel set
  • Do I need a sit-in dryer? I'm planning to take the cat to a groomer (or a vet who does grooming), every 4 months or so.
  • cozy blanket
  • ear wipes
  • butt wipes

General:

  • cat carrier - any recommendations?
  • fur lint roller
  • cable protectors - do I need these? I have a lot of cords bundled up under my desk. I cannot tape them down.
  • air purifier - do I need one for each floor? I was thinking just one in my room because I close my door when I sleep, and I’m hoping my cat will be able to stay in my room during that time. These are pricey.
  • Also, in this case, I don’t know if I should keep food and water bowls in my room even after the kitten is allowed to roam since I'll close my bedroom door when I'm sleeping. Not sure how to manage bowls on both floors.

Any advice or tips are appreciated! If there's something important I'm missing or if you have product recommendations, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
