A friend accidentally donated a quilt that was made by her deceased grandmother and is desperate to find it. She has posted fliers, made pleas on FB, and was even interviewed on the local news, but no one has come forward. The donation store, City Thrift in Shannon Valley Shopping Center, Overland Park, KS, said it sold the very first day it was put out (est. early August 2021). See pictures: It's blue with embroidered quilt blocks in white of all the state flowers - it's seven rows wide and seven rows long (with Hawaii tacked on to 1 row). Link to news story posted below. If you have seen it online, know someone who bought it, bought it yourself, PLEASE reach out. They are offering a reward if it can be found and returned.
I'm willing to investigate any possible matches! Please reach out!

Hi quilters!
My name is Kathy and I help manage my mom's quilting business. She offers longarm services and T-shirt quilting. Her business, called Helga's Longarm Creations, is based out of Northern Virginia. So I'm looking for someone to make me a quilt out of my dad's old t-shirts. My dad passed away last May after battling lung cancer for 2 years. It's been a year but everyday is still tough. At any rate- this quilt will be special. I am looking for someone to understand that it will be very tough for me to mail off his shirts but am excited for what comes back. I don't know how long this usually takes (I used to sew but never took on a quilt) but I was hoping I might be able to give it to my mom for her birthday which is August 3rd. I would ship the shirts as fast as possible, but I'm located in Maryland so the east coast would be preferable for shipping time. Thank you so much for reading this.
I have a lot of old high school gear I would like made into a quilt so I can see it, and still use the stuff I once wore.
As a knitter, I understand that hard work that goes into creating something like this so I'm willing to help in anyway I can on top of payment.
I know there is that company that does these kinds of quilts but I prefer to have it done by someone who can put love into it. I want something that had its own personality, and is unique. Doesn't have to be complicated, just not cookie cutter either.
I have come to the realization that I will never actually use the fabric dyeing supplies I keep buying at the quilt shows. Here is what I have. You'll have to pay the cost of shipping. Or if you live in the Chicago area you can come and pick it up, I'm in the north suburbs.
Please email me if interested in any or all of these at kathybirchmeier@gmail.com.
