The line between this sub and the /queen sub gets blurrier every day 😂
Today Freddy Mercury died in 1991, so I'm thought I'd post this instead of a shit post today<3
Hello everybody,
I make very few posts of this nature as I find that this sub generally self-regulates and there are few problems that I ever need to address regarding interpersonal behavior. For people participating here in good faith and good fun, thank you.
I know this is not a huge CJ cub compared with the ones for the Beatles or Pink Floyd, to name a few examples. This is why I largely try to let people simply post organically and let the sub take its direction from there. Since this sub started shortly before the movie came out, we got a lot of less-than-circlejerk quality posts, but to help grow the sub we let them stay. Gotta start somewhere. To me - and I may be wrong in my assessment - it appears a lot of the relatively young users that flooded the Queen subs after the film take the band absolutely seriously and their memes reflect it. And that's fine - we all take our fandoms seriously until we don't.
Recently, I removed inactive moderators and have reached out to a few candidates privately to replace them. I work and occasionally spend time offline (!). Once I have selected additional moderators, they will be introduced in another post.
Unfortunately, I have recently had to ban a relatively new member because, simply, the person was being incredibly rude. Banning users is not a first resort unless they have committed a serious infraction. This person was first instructed to reconsider the way they were requesting something, after having made similarly-worded comments on the sub, then temporarily muted, and is now under a temporary ban. I am a human being on the other side of your screen and like every other mod, I do this for free. I am glad to make changes if asked, but ask that if you feel the need to be rude online, to instead channel that energy into creating memes and shitposts instead. There is a vast difference between snarking on public figures and being shitty to ordinary people online. Rule 1 here and on Reddit in general is "don't be a dick to other people." (I find it works well IRL, too.)
Thank you for reading, and happy circlejerking!
Poor guy Bri wasn't even into dudes, as far as I know. That's what I call dedication!
Queen.
"I'm in love with my car" really spoke to me, but I don't meet a lot of cars in my line of work. What type of cars do you think are the best to date? And how do you approach/talk to them?
As you know, John has stepped out of the public eye after Freddie’s death and I feel like this sub and the main sub (r/queen) should respect his privacy because no one wants to be a creep invading on his private life (I’m looking at you paparazzi)
