Any true doner kebab in Quebec City ? Visiting next week and had some great doner kebab in Montreal and hoping to have some as I miss it in Europe
I need to be able to walk to buy sandwiches and coffee. Ideally live close to a grocery store, I won’t have a car. I haven’t visited the city yet so forgive me for not knowing its layout. Thank you 🙏 I look forward to eating Brie and drinking hot cocoa 🤪
Salut!
I'm also a dirty anglo, so if your group speaks English I'd absolutely be more than down to be the GM for your group.
Bonjour!
I've just starting brainstorming ideas for a mini honeymoon in Quebec City for November 2025. We're very familiar with Montreal (my mum lived there for a decade), but this is our first trip to Quebec City. We're looking at going for a long weekend around the fourth weekend of November for 3 or 4 days. We plan on exploring Old Quebec, having a spa day, and maybe driving out to visit Montmorency Falls.
Are there particular areas we should stay/avoid? Are there any must-do activities or places to see that time of year? Any particularly romantic things we should consider? I saw there was a dinner river cruise that looked interesting. Not sure if it's overly touristy.
I'm hoping to see snow, so not sure if we should push the trip a week or two?
(We will be doing a full honeymoon probably the following year to give us something fun to look forward to and time to save up.)
Hi, my family and I (from US) are visiting Quebec city in December for the first time. I'm trying to book tickets to the 1884 slide and it stills says unavailable on the website. Anyone else have any luck? No one was picking up the phone either. Thanks in advance!
When we visit we almost always just hang out in the old part of the city.
Are there any other fun pedestrian friendly areas we should visit next time?
Thanks
As the title, just need someone reliable that has occasional availability and inclination to work on a larger vehicle, service, oil changes etc. Thanks.
Thinking of visiting Quebec City from the US the last week in November. Will the Christmas decorations be up yet?
Also- should we fly into Montreal 1st then take train to Quebec City? We would probably take trip from Nov 25- 30. Should we bookend QC and stay in Montreal ? Example
Mon- Montreal
Tues-Thurs- QC
Fri- Montreal
Also, what's the best hotel? Should we do Chateau Fronteau?
Thank you! Any suggestions of places to stay or things to do would be greatly appreciated. My husband has been 3x for work trips but I have never been.
Hello! I am a portrait photographer (female, 39) with 20 years of professional experience, and have lived in Quebec city for a little over a year. I am learning french but am primarily an anglophone, so I've been shy to shoot much here. It's time that I start to put myself out there again and rebrand with some Quebec City destinations. I intend to shoot more couples who are visiting this beautiful city. If you and your partner would like to get some nice images of yourselves at a landmark or two in QC in exchange for my using them for marketing- please let me know. I'll be choosing a few couples to work with and I'll be trying to get a variety of "looks" for the portfolio I made specific to QC shoots for couples. Please send me a recent photo showing you and your partner (standing, full body), and a phone number to reach you at. I am considering a brief shoot as soon as this thursday during the day, so please also let me know if you are available during the daytime for at least 30 minutes in Old Quebec (it's okay if not). If the weather is not super duper rainy that day I might squeak out a brief pocket of time to shoot then, so please be reliable. Please do reply even if not available that day. Thanks!
Salut!
Merci!
Hello I am 16 in the IB program nova scotia and wondering if I can get a bachelor in architecture at the school. I have done french since day care and have participated in the French public speaking competitions at the provincial level for several years. This is my dream school but I don't know if I can go.
We are traveling to Quebec soon! We tried Shogun Sushi a few times in the past. We LOVED ordering on an iPad because we're introverts. However, the sushi is inconsistent. It was wonderful the first time and terrible the second time.
Any other AYCE with an tablet or app ordering option? Honestly even just a non-AYCE sushi place with a tablet ordering option would be awesome!
Looking for brewery/distillery recommendations in Old Quebec - preferably with a neat environment or unusual brews (both would be amazing!) Further ok is ok if it’s not too hard to find; I’ll have a car for part of my time.
Also, I have a tiny bit of the French language on recall from high school… should I attempt to use it or would it just be frustrating or even offensive to locals?
Thank you!
Hello! I am going to be staying in Quebec City from Dec 20-22 and I wanted to list what I plan on doing/reservations to get a locals opinion if we are doing Quebec City right! I would love to know if we have selected good restaurants. Also would like to know if there is any holiday events/things going on while we are there.
Hotel: Fairmont
Restaurants:
How are the restaurants at the Fairmont? Is the bistro le sam good?
Activities:
3.Toboggan
Any other recommendations for activities to do while we are there?
Any advice / recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
We are going to Qc city for new years but we have no idea where to go. We want somewhere fun with fireworks but preferably not too crowded.
Also, do pharmacies sell bus tickets in Quebec city?
Does anyone have fun ideas to do in Quebec during the holidays? Also, what are some nice hotels? Would love any ideas! - Thanks
I plan to stay there for 3 days in December.
I'm visiting QC with my partner this upcoming weekend to celebrate my 35th. I haven't been out dancing in over seven years, and I'd really like to dress up and go out. What are some good places? We're not into EDM or techno, but we do want a DJ and not live bands. I'm not really sure if EDM/House/Techno are the only things that are played in clubs nowadays?
We thought about Le Drague (since we're a lesbian couple), but I think this is primarily a club you go to for drag shows, right?
I don't really care if the crowd is a bit younger, but I don't really want to go out dancing in a place that's 99% 19-year-old university students. A mixed crowd sounds great.
Any ideas?
Also, are there any stores that sell skincare products from The Ordinary?
We are going to Quebec city in January for a babymoon and just cannot decide whether to stay at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac or Le Capitole! We love cozy communal areas where you can read or relax, not sure if either of these have that kind of space. Any recomendation one way or the other from anyone who has stayed!?
Just returned from a great vaca to visit Old Quebec City (OQC). Sharing notes here. Download the ArriveCAN app before traveling-amazing how easy arrival to Canada was! I stayed at Le Germain and enjoyed, but there are many lodging options. Started with the hop on hop off bus tour to have a feel for the city. Rented a car from Enterprise through Costco membership and drove to Ile d’Orleans for the day. Saw Montmorency Falls and took the trolley there - beautiful. Next La Nougaterie on the Ile, family business, fun and delicious - also fresh carame. Then chocolate de Ile d’Orleans, fabulous shapes and gift option. Drove around the entire island…stopped at two wineries and one cider. Great day, easy drive. Spent most of a day at the Strom spa with a massage and using the many hot pools including a small lazy river-excellent, might be adults only as I didn’t see children. Tea at Chateau Frontenac was also marvelous. so much food and drink available and it was all wonderful. Museum of Civilization was good. Notre Dame de Quebec-Gorgeous. Funicular was fun. OQC loves fall, the decorations were everywhere and gorgeous.
So we're visiting from the Netherlands and really want to go trick or treating with our little ones. We asked here before where to do it and we got outfits for them. However, what night is the trick or treat night? Is it the official Halloween night on thursday the 31st or is it on a weekend night so tonight or another night?
