If anybody has a bead on one I will pay well above market for one.
Hey fellas it's me agian. I've checked my headspace. It's.007 the videos say it has to be between .018 and .010 How doing fix it?
Took the PTR out for the first time today and this is what my casings were looking like. .308 Winchester is what I was shooting. Can I get some info as to why they look so torn up?
I have a PTR-91 from the JLD era, and it has the 15x1 RH threads on the muzzle (as opposed to the more modern 5/8x24).
I was looking to direct thread a SilencerCo Omega suppressor to my rifle, but can't find a thread adapter that'll work. Is there one hiding in an obscure corner of the internet or should I just take this thing to a gunsmith?
TIA
Pretty much what it says on the tin. Cant seem to find any sites online that sell em, even the black ones are a challenge. Trying to find one cause I want to run a bipod on mine.
Could certainly use pointers or direction on where might be some good places to look.
Does anybody know how it compares to the Bill Springfield enhanced buffer?
I have a ptr91 and one of the rollers is stuck how do I fix it. It won't move and it's a bitch and a half to pull the bolt back.
It seems impossible to find these. They’re on country spirit mags but out of stock, and that’s all I can find for a pinned magazine. Does anyone know a service that can do these custom ordered or alternative?
Long story short I want to do a suppressed dmr type build and I feel like the tapered barrels are not going to do well in that roll. I know they used to make the fr model with the bull barrel but haven't been able to find one. Anyone have any good leads or advise?
Hey guys. The G3 itch was returned to me again and I’m looking to pair up PTR91 with my MP5 clone. I’m mainly interested the in 16” girk, and the 18” Gi. It seems both come with surplus metal lowers and mags. Is there any reason to grab one over the other? Is the 18” marginally better or much better than the 16”?
Hypothetically speaking if I was able to get a registered sear or trigger pack in the future would this gun be able to run it?
New to the G3 clone world so I apologize if my questions were stupid.
Finally got my hands on the A3SK, immediately slapped wood furniture on it. Heavy buffer stock from HK hiding in the stock, still waiting on a sling, trigger pack, extended charging handle, and a case of mags in the mail.
Eotech for vibes, but I love the iron sights. Break in period will be fun on my day off.
Questions for the experts:
How reliable are magazines? I’m coming from M1A/M14s so I’m used to one good option that’s exorbitantly priced, but with how cheap and plentiful mags seem to be I’m not sure if I should keep an eye out for specific manufactures or manufacture dates.
I have a bit of a dark spot on the stock, my guess is something seeped in that wasn’t supposed to. I don’t mind the scratches and the odd dent, but is there any specific steps for cleaning and oiling up old G3 furniture? The furniture is already 3 times my age, I’d rather it last another 3 lifetimes if I can help it.
Any tips you’d have given yourself before you took yours to the range?
Aight so I got a PTR-91 mutt that I put together a while ago and recently started shooting often again. I recently picked up a suppressor(HUXWRX FLOW 762TI) and have been shooting just plain ol M80 rounds through it and so far havent had any issues.
Current modified parts are as follows:
I want to start putting subsonic rounds through it but i dont know what I’d have to put together in order to make it work. Any suggestions?
Pic for reference and tax
Recently got my Form1 approved to SBR my PTR PDWR. It comes with the end cap and swivel mount. I purchased an AR buffer tube and stock, assuming the castle nut could be removed & the end cap replaced with the buffer tube.
The gun smith is telling me he physically can’t remove the castle nut on the gun and I need a different back plate to accept the AR buffer tube.
Is this true? It looks like you should just be able to remove the nut and swap in the tube.
Anyone have any insight/ SBR’d their PDWR?
I’ve Had it for a couple weeks and already have shot it it shoots wonderfully . I do have one complaint the charging lever is sooo hard to pull back and almost feels like it’s hanging up in something . Is this a common thing with these rifles and just need to break in or is there a potential problem ?
Hey all! New to this forum, but did some initial 3 mags with my PTR today. It shot like a dream, and ejections went far at the 45* (though were blocked by the range structure and hit the front). Some of the cases seemed to fall short, landing on the rest. Out of the 59 rounds I shot, I had two failures to eject where the empty case did not fully leave the rifle before the next was to be loaded. I'm aware there is a break in period, and I did lubricate the gun prior to shooting, though I am new to PTR and roller locks so I am just checking in to see if this is expected behavior; a friend had one and had no issues, but I'm aware they are a spectrum. I tested the extractor and it does not move under finger pressure so that seems to be okay.
Hey folks.
I've always have been a fan of G3's and have recently started looking into the clones.
I'm considering buying a slightly used PTR 91 but I've looked at lots of threads and see that some have issues and have to be sent in to be repaired.
Obviously online you are going to hear more about the problems people have then ones where people buy it with zero issues whatsoever.
Should I buy secondhand for a few hundred bucks less or spend extra to get the factory warranty peace of mind?
Love to hear your input.
Thanks
I think that I might be done with the build. I will change the muzzle device to a keymod and I'm not 100% on the optic
