Hi,
Can you please tell me if you have ever released a track before Christmas? If you did, did it get many views or fewer than usual ? Is this bad to release a goa track these days or must I wait for the end of January ? Thanks.
Ok, I have got now a little fan base of 680 persons on YouTube with the artist name Astral Distortions and 14k views on my last song . I want to change for "Orxid". Do you think it's a good idea or I must keep Astral Distortions ? Thanks for your kind answers.
I know that the quality of SoundCloud has never been the best, but I have the impression that it has gotten worse nowadays. I produce full-on psytrance and even though I've been improving my mix and master every day, it seems that my tracks on SoundCloud is getting worse and worse.
Just to compare, a track that I posted 10 months ago has no distortion at all. Today I uploaded this same track (the exact same file) as private and guess what? it got much worse, with the bassline all distorted and full of artifacts. THE SAME FILE, sounding good in the upload of 10 months ago and sounding like sh1t in today’s upload
Its insane that my mix/master is getting better day by day on the .wav file, and on soundcloud its sounding worse than 1 year ago o.O (I produce every single day, around 6 hours a day)
btw: Im next pro user, mastering only with ozone 11 at 16 bits, 44100khz, dither on

Beginner here. I have been gifted an AKAI MPK Mini and have an Intel i7 laptop and figure that I would like to do the following:
Questions:
I have been lurking on Reddit forums for a few weeks trying to assimilate some wisdom about (re)starting out on techno/trance production, just for fun. Musically I am heavily influenced by the 90s, especially Hardfloor, Aphex Twin, Return to the Source, Dragonfly Records, Man With No Name, Emmanuel Top. Very much into melodic acid as well as the other techno and trance.

I just got myself the Undredog course and I am also considering getting either Ableton Standard of Bitwig Producer as a Black Friday deal.
I played around with both, and being not competent in any DAW I find Bitwig much more clear, pleasant, easy to use, modern etc. Overall it feels like a DAW I would want to transition to as soon as I get core/transferrable music production skills.
The course is taught in Ableton and Oscar from Underdog claims that the concepts taught are applicable in any DAW. I believe that this is very much true, however I am afraid that for a beginner the small differences in workflow/controls might be getting in a way at every step, and thus slow down the progress and take away from motivation.
How hard would that be for a beginner like me to follow the course, but using Bitwig instead of Ableton?
Thanks Everyone!

Hey y'all!
I finally started producing music some days ago and am having a blast so far!
Now that the Black Friday Deal is live I'm looking to get a license for either the Standard Version or the Suite and was wondering if it is worth it to get the Suite for Max, the additional effects etc. — specifically for Psytrance and Hitech, as this is what I mainly want to produce.
The only additional plugin that I have right now is Serum, which I am renting via Splice.
If you own the Suite, do you use the exclusive stuff regularly? Was it worth it in your opinion? What is the most impactful thing missing from the Standard version?
Despite the deal the Suite is still quite expensive, so I am looking for some insights to make a sensible decision.
I appreciate any feedback and suggestions. Thanks guys!
Hi all. I make acid style ambient music but always listen to things like timeshard and Eat static. I own the elektron dark trinity plus a bunch of other cool devices. 101 303 606 707 909 blofeld Nord-micro and a machine drum sampler. Any tips or links I can check out ?
Hello fellas, I started producing darkpsy/forest few months ago and my first experiments (once I learned the basics) were pretty good, even professional producers gave me good feedbacks, but now, after a hiatus (I was preparing for my first gig so I wanted to focus on my DJ Set) I come back and literally everything I try to make feels, sound and looks like shit, especiallyk the bassline. My bass is sounding wacky, my kick it's pretty ok but everything together is pretty lame. I already tried kick and bass balancing, sidechain with eq, compressor etc. Well, I don't know what to do I just wanna feel better about my music again. Please experienced friends, help me!!
Hello, I am an experimental electronic producer, however recently I've got and idea for a psytrance track that I'd like to realize. May I ask for a recommendation of a sample pack that would suit dark, experimental production? I'm focused on doing most of sound design on my own, but it would be convenient to get a frame of reference. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a very sharp sawtooth wave with a flanger, but I can`t replicate the sound no matter what. I tried using the different wavetables on Serum and got close, but not quite. Even on my Virus TI.
Could be a very specific saw wave, probably some simple vst table or something. The flanger part is easy tho.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Obs: great album btw!

Hii, I've seen that Sonitum released this free sample pack that I've been searching since I heard about it (unfortunately I saw too late), I want to know if there is any kind soul who can share with me this sample pack, please!!
Hey there! I just been given a keyboard with a pitch wheel ( Im in love with the pitch wheel its so awesome ) and it's my first time using one tho I played on a piano for a very long time.
I want to play the guitar/synth solo of the song Heavyweight by Infected Mushroom. Now the playing part is not very a problem. What I need help with is the sound. I know for a fact that I won't be able to recreate exactly the same sound but I want it to be as close a possible.
Since its my first time using a keyboard with a lot of sounds variation and instrument sounds, I am so lost ! I hope I make sense!
Thanks in advance.
The keyboard is a Korg PA-300 V61
Stuck between monitor upgrades!
Looking at A7Vs, LP-6s or HS7s
Currently have a pair of KRK Rokit 6 Gen 2s and it's long overdue for an upgrade. The coloration on the low end fucks me over and never translates well. Especially with deep forest basses 😅
I was specifically looking for something very flat and accurate but from what l've heard (and witnessed in personal experience) the HS7s are UNFORGIVING and very fatiguing to work with and the rear facing bass ports will be an issue for me even though they are very accurate.
My speakers are basically like right up against the wall behind it so front facing ports are ideal. Hence me leaning towards the Adam A7Vs or Kali's (and why T7Vs aren't even considered)
The A7Vs are a LOT more expensive than the LP6s in my country. Like more than double the price. But is the quality jump worth it ?? I'm nervous over the Kali's because of the cheaper build, them being less commonly used (so unsure on translation), have audible hiss from the amps, they're obviously a lot cheaper & seem like a "bracket" below & more beginner and also l've heard they're quite bassy/low end boosted and midrange lacking (although less fatigue on high end) compared to the A7Vs or HS7s ?
The LP8s aren't applicable due to sizing and honestly the LP6s would be bassy enough!
Also we don't get the IN-8 series or anything of that range here so not an option :(
Genelec's are $600+ more before that's a suggestion too
Hello Everyone, For trance music production(psy or goa), is it better Behringer TD-3-MO-AM or AKAI MPK MINI MP3 MIDI? Im a begineer and in my local music store only these two are avaible.
In short, looking to make the bass noises at 0:54 in this track
I've experimented with a few ways to do this, but I'm missing something and I have no idea what it is
Any suggestions? I just started making i heard someone once say black friday is like christmas for producers
That’s the only time of year I ever treat myself to new plugins. Definitely looking for a good sidechain program, a better multi fx, a better bass synth than vital, etc

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It's a bassline I synthesized in Vital. I have had a similar issue in Serum with some patches, so either I'm missing some configuration or something is wrong with my PC / Audio Setup.
You can see when the higher note plays, it actually has a sort of 'pre-latency' or so it seems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
