Hello everyone,

I'm new to this. I got the mycelium in the form of a sprouted rye substrate (Varierty: Treasure Coast) from my friend. I used sterilized rye as the substrate. After sterilization, I opened the lid to put the mycelium-substrate rye into the jar. Of course I use gloves but I don't use a laminar flow fan or anything like that to keep the working environment sterile.

Is it possible that the brown spots are contaminated?

I was running into some problems with my fogger and the owner of HOH sent me some troubleshooting steps and was willing to help me more. Got it sorted out pretty easily. I bought this fogger like 2 years ago so I'm surprised that they were that willing to help me out.

Is anyone familiar with P7 at all? (Penis Envy 7). I’m confused why some caps are a nice light brown, and some are dark af. First time growing, and I seemed to have picked an uncommon variety. These guys have been pinning/growing for almost 10 days now.

So I have had some crazy success to the point I needed to start thinking of Long term storage. I recently just starting putting my dried actives in air tight containers with a couple silica packets and keeping in my deep freezer. Was curious what the community thoughts/experience on this are? My main concern is will they get freezer burnt? They all are completely dried with a dehydrator before put into the containers I will add. Thanks for any and all thoughts in advance! -mushlove

This is my first attempt at growing. The veil has not broken. I know for maximum potency you’re supposed to pick right after the veil breaks. Should I dehydrate or toss?

Tent is indoors and has a fan pushing air in and a 3 disc fogger. That video has a 12 disc fogger -- but those are $250. That's a huge investment.

Should the 3 disc be adequate?

If I need to upgrade, how many discs do I need?

Started a little slow. I gave it too much air I think. So I closed taped over the slits I made in the bag and it took off. Can't wait to try these out.

Was on instagram when I came across this advertisement on spores, now I don’t trust online companies, especially ones from insta since most turn out to be fake or run unprofessionally. Is this company legit?? I’ve been considering growing my own mushrooms for a good while now.

To clarify, I'm looking at the time from innoculation to the break and shake. Then the time from the B&S to putting in a monotub. I see people saying 20, 30, or 40% for the B&S. I was at least at 20% maybe 30% after just over 3 weeks. So I did a B&S. Now waiting for full colonization after a week. I seem to be making good progress and think in another 2 weeks total might cover the bag. So that's 6 weeks total from innoculation to possibly putting the monotub. Does this sound like a good pace? What are your average times on these stages? First time with grain. I've used PF Tek in the past. I'll post a picture when closer to the 6 week total for coverage. Thanks.
