Mooncrash is still the shit 6 years later

I got the original game for PS4 not long after release, and I got Mooncrash when it came out. Recently, I bought both on Steam since they're on sale. After not playing Prey for probably 4-5 years, it feels great to get back into it. I went straight for Mooncrash instead of the main game and I am LOVING it! This game is just too good! Sorry this post is just kind of me saying I like Prey on the Prey subreddit, but I'm just hyped to be playing this amazing game again!

Are there any documents or projects linking out all staff member's connections?

One of the things I really love about Prey is how everything seems to be interconnected. E-mail conversations overlap, employees have multiple interests. It gives the feeling of more than one story being there, and I really want to be able to experience and explore each one. The issue is that there's so much spanning from e-mails to transcribes to little notes here and there, that short of recreating the cork board meme I'm gonna have trouble piecing it all together.

As an alternative, if anyone knows a program that would let me create a digital cork board I'd appreciate that. The only options I've found are ones that require subscriptions and are used for DnD campaigns. Which could work, but I don't really feel like paying a subscription for one.

Thanks!

Who is December? Bug

I’ve recently been replaying Prey and I had forgotten just how much fun this game was. I want to try to get all the missions completed and the only “optional” side mission I have left is the Who is December? mission. Every time that I “escape” Talos 1 my only option is to reload my previous save but the mission still appears like I haven’t completed it. I could be missing something very obvious but if anyone knows what to do please let me know.

I don't understand why so many gamers aren't satisfied with Prey

I see a lot of people complain that the game's arsenal is weak or that the enemies are bad but i think both of these things are great. Every weapon has a designated role and they make sense for an office in space. Wouldn't it be absurd if it had sniper rifles or fucking frag grenades? The enemies are also very interesting and reguire different strategies to defeat them.

You can't lose at employee of the month if you're the only employee left alive

Good luck to those of you working on the "I and It" achievement!

I see a lot of people compare Prey to the Half life series.

How would you say the games are similar? I can see some similarities with the setup of an experiment going wrong in a lab and alien creatures killing everyone. But otherwise Half life and Prey are very different games. One is incredibly linear while the other is very open.

Q-Beam and Mindjack combo is hilarious

The weakness of Q-Beam is it doesn't really damage. It just explodes stuff when their red health bar is completely turned to green. And nobody is immune to that.

Mindjack makes Typhons friendly towards you for several seconds. It works on everyone. The more powerful enemies remain friendly for a shorter time. That's all.

Guess what? Q-Beaming a friendly doesn't turn them back to hostile. They will just take it until they explode.

Works the same with Machine Mind too.

The gravity elevator building is not lined up perfectly with the glass and now you have to see it too.

Literally unplayable

Is it worth it at 3 dollars?

I always see videos saying the game is ok and that and now that is on black Friday in thinking about buying it, idk nothing but that is a space horror shooter and there's like a gun that shoots foam?

Also is the game too scary? Fallout 4 with some night mods scare the shit out of me so I'm probably gonna suffer if it is too jump scary

How limited are Weavers in making new Typhon?

This is just a random thought I had; As we all know, Weavers can make Phantoms, Poltergeists and other forms of Typhon life from the corpses of humans killed by Mimics. However, how limited are the Weavers in this? Can the Weavers only make new Typhon from the corpses of sophont life (as in, sentient life like that of humans since the “real” diet of the Typhon seems to be consciousness itself)? Can they only make new Typhon from corpses who were killed by Mimics beforehand? Could, say, a Weaver wander into a veterinary hospital and turn a bunch of dead dogs or cats into new, unique Typhon, or would they be collected together to form Phantoms, or would they be ignored entirely? Or, what about a standard morgue - Are the large number of Phantoms aboard Talos 1 the result of Weavers “raiding” the corpses of “volunteers” aboard, or just the result of those directly killed by Mimics having their bodies turned into new Phantoms?

If anyone has any good answers to my questions, that’d be awesome. Thank you all so much for the help, and I hope you all have a great day!

Has anyone ever seen someone beat pre with only the mimic ability? Is it feasible? I’m thinking tier 3 of the perk might be the most useful due to your ability to mimic turrets.

I’ve done minor research and was unable to find any play throughs like this.

Is "I and It" still punishing players for not directly killing crew?

Just got to crew quarters and saw some heads pop. This thread says they don't count unless it's by my hand?

https://www.reddit.com/r/prey/comments/xt94l8/i_and_itsucked/

Edit to add: confirmed, head pops are no dice. I apparently already biffed my run with the patient in trauma center. If this comes up in a google, everyone but goat-soup was helpful.

new game plus question re: mods

I'm sure it's been asked but I couldn't find it, wanna do a ng+ and only run human/typhon mods. When I open Morgan's locker it seems to auto install all previous mods (human and typhon) do I need to not open his locker for a one side only playthrough?

Want to replay Prey

I've already replayed Prey multiple times, but I'm looking for new ways to experience it. Any suggestions for different playstyles, challenges, or mods to try?

Killing Technopath = Dead Phantom?

I was exploring the Shuttle Bay. Upon entering from Fuel Storage, I noticed there were two mimics and a Voltaic Phantom in the rooms to my left. I ignored them and snuck around to the right, then climbed stairs to a section where there was a Technopath and two turrets. I killed the Technopath. Then I went back to the rooms with the Phantom and mimics. The mimics were still there, but the Phantom was dead. (I looted the body)

Is this normal? I thought the Phantoms were created by Weavers?

Does anyone know any series that have/revolve around creatures that are like the Typhon?

Does anyone know any book series that have or are basically revolve around creatures that are like the Typhon? One of my favorite aspects of Prey was the Typhon species overall, and while I don't know if we will ever get a Prey sequel, I would at least really be glad to read a series that have creatures like the Typhon.

I just got a psychoscope but does unlocking the typhon abilities Lock me out of an ending ?

I have a feeling that unlocking typhon abilities will make me either have to self destruct the Talos or choose not to dooming earth. But if I don’t get it do I get to do what December was talking about and just escape ?

Or is it all irrelevant cause I’m thinking of dishonoured where rejecting the mark of the outsider led to different things

Today I Learned I'm A Moron

Heyo y'all. I'm 20 hours deep in my first playthrough of this gem. And only after these 20 hours have I discovered my reading comprehension. The Repair skill. Wonderful little thing ain't it? Tell me why it took me 20 hours to read the part where you can repair your weapons with spare parts. I have been. DISMANTLING AND REMAKING THEM. EACH TIME THEY GET TOO LOW. PLEASE GODS TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO'S DONE SOMETHING THIS STUPID.
