I don't know much about engines. I had a lawnmower that stopped working after I turned it on its end too much to clear out the bottom and it never worked again. I'm not sure if this is because it accidentally got pushed too far and went like straight up (which I think killed my lawn mower but I could get a straight answer) or if it's because it ran out of gas. It was working before it ran out of gas and before I moved it, but barely, it wouldn't function without the choke on at least 25% or so. My job uses generators alot and when walking them across the warehouse sometimes the get turned on their end accidentally (when I say this I mean tipped 90° forward) and they still work. But this seems to have poasibly ruined my lawnmower and might be the issue with this pressure washer. I don't know much about small engines or why this ruins them, but this is the second engine that has immediately died (hopefully not) permanently after such an event and I'm thinking that's the cuause. It will start but dies immediately. Maybe it was the gas? I'm not sure, I don't know anything about engines. I use a manual lawn mower now because it's less hassle. Our trailer park was bought by a sketchy company that is mandating we pressure wash our homes or they will do it and charge $300, likely banking on old people being unable to so they can charge them and likely get them kicked out, no one good buys trailer parks anymore. I have no technical knowledge and I'm really hoping I didn't break my uncles pressure washer. I can hand scrub the trailer if I need to but breaking my family's things is too much.
Kind of a brain teaser for you all... lining up a contract with a company to wash approximately 600 of these plastic tubs per week. Just water will be necessary, no chemicals. The company grows fungus in them (don't ask idk either). No chemicals because I don't want any possible residue from SH or what have you to affect the fungus growing. I'm a one man operation. I'll be going out only once a week to do this (I run this business to supplement my full-time income and I have 4 little ones at home). Can you all think of the most time efficient way to get them done? I'm really hoping I can be up to this task as this contract will keep me going during the slow winter months. Honestly putting 10 of them on their side, spraying them down, rinse, and repeat 60 times is all I can think of. Hiring is not an option at this point unfortunately.
Of course, I'm looking for honest suggestions from other honest and non-judgemental people in the business. The other tools who inhaled too much SH for their own good can pound sand. Thanks.
I'm about to hit 54k gross my 3rd year in business doing it on the weekends.
Also looking for like minded individuals

I'm really starting to take window cleaning seriously, and I'm trying to get my name out there. I've been door knocking and doing houses for free (pressure wash or window washing) and just leaving them my business cards and giving them my facebook/google page, but I'm wondering what else I should do. I also do door hangers. All suggestions and information would be great!
I’m so sick of fighting this hose every twist and turn. I’m looking at then NORTHSTAR no marking pressure hose 100 footer. I don’t know shit about hoses but it certainly doesn’t look as strong as this one. Anyone have any input or suggestions for hoses? I’m using a 4 gpm Simpson
Recently got hired for a fleet cleaning job, pressure washing dump trucks. Fleet is about 20 trucks in size. Client said to be careful of decals on the trucks. Just using water as well no solution/chemical mixture. What psi and gallons per minute would you guys recommend. And if you have any pressure washer recommendations I can look at I would appreciate it greatly! Thanks
In the US, clean windows and facades up to 200ft, 4500psi, 10gpm. Up to 20 minutes of flight time per battery set. Clean up 5,000sq ft per battery set. Softwash or pressure wash. Onboard chemical tank available
What is the nastiest, harshest, most effective cleaner for a garage floor to use during pressure washing?
It is not oil stains. It is spray paint overspray and leakage from garbage that stained and won't come out. And general discoloration like you see in the photo.
I'm getting into more commercial work and most want workers comp even as a 1 man company so need affordable insurance provider? Current provider is over 6k/year for 1million gen liability and commercial auto coverage and wants an additional 10k/year to add workers comp? Please tell me if that's really normal rate for this coverage because it seems insanely high and I need this coverage soon.
Some old dude bitched about “mold” on peoples houses and now the hoa is making me pressure wash my house. The 2nd story of the front of my house is really the only visible spot I can’t reach. Is there a nozzle that I can use standing on the ground that will help get the mildew stains off my vinyl siding and is cheap?
Expecting some bias here, but hoping for some guidance nonetheless the less.
Our roof is due for a wash, there a bunch of dry, asked on black stuff - algae, presumably.
I prefer the idea of soft wash, it it is suitable: is a great finish and realistic expectation without pressure washing? Is baked-on algae always a definite 'requires hot pressure wash, maybe SH'?
There are solar panels on the roof and I'd prefer to avoid SH overspray.
The roof is powder coated metal, 11 yrs old, good condition but my concern is that heat and pressure may cause some - if minimal - damage to roof screw rubbers or paint.
What is your experience, professionally? What would be your ideal and careful way of cleaning, were it your own home?
I was recently called by a worker from PageHub offering to help advertising. They claimed to be able to get 7 jobs a week and to also be working in partner from google. They said this was all possible because they would put our company first when you google pressure washing, and all for the low price of 149 a month. This all sounded too good to be true. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with them and if it’s a scam like I think.
I'm on a fire department which was awarded a grant for a Simpson power washer. In the original application, PS60483 was used which is a 4 gpm, with crx420 engine and the reliable AAA pump. We'd use this for washing trucks, equipment/tools, and fire hose. Is there a different set up or version that would be better for us in that price range?
Hey everyone, I work in construction and we really struggle to market ourselves because the market is just so oversaturated. I would say images on our website is one of our biggest selling points.
I decided to build this tool that allows us to create these really awesome looking image galleries of before/afters. I took it a step further and made it so that we can actually see how many views and clicks the galleries get and where the clicks are coming from. Now we know what areas we should target and spend more marketing/ad money on.
I want test this tool out with some other people in the space. Anyone interested?
I'm just trying to stir it up this morning. Lol. I did this quick before I used the SC to get this Pic. Have a good day everyone!
I have about 400 sq ft of neglected deck I want to clean. I purchased 2 lb of sodium metasilicate, hoping to make 4 gallons of solution. I'm going to follow it up with oxalic acid. Now I'm thinking I maybe should have gotten 4 lbs. Also, deck brush or acid brush for scrubbing?
Did a pressure wash on this driveway and it all looked fine when dried. Did an acid wash over it all and that’s when the lines showed up.
How can I fix this?
Just as the title states - Has anyone hired a part time sales rep to do their door knocking and selling jobs while they are on the job working?
How did you structure it? (100% commission?) How didn’t work for you and why are you or are you not still employing that person.
Was thinking about a 1099 position that’s 100% commission based. 10-20% of all gross sales
Hey guys, thanks for your time. Was just wondering if anyone has had any luck or if it'd be worth giving it a shot to wire up my 12v 5.5gpm pump directly to my 4wd 12v cigarette port as I have one located in the tub. Otherwise I'll have to grab a battery and wire it all up as an individual setup. Thanks guys.
