Is there any way how to change black color of the object to white?

I want to change the black colour of the t-shirt in the video to white but none of the tutorials on YouTube offers such a video.

Every video I found was about changing colours but not neutral colours. Is there any option + tracking the object with the changed color? Is it possible?

Anybody else encounter this export and timeline problem?

Hello! Happy to be here but anxious to share my problem. Been working as an editor for more than a decade now and lately it has been all render of various projects.

My machine: Macbook Pro 2019 i7 but only stumbled upon this error now.

Working on 4K files mostly on a 16x9 1080p timeline with proxies. My usual workflow especially for tighter deadlines and longtime clients.

I do the usual hardware encoding export thru Adobe Media Encoder and it shows up like this on my export:

Like certain files look corrupted or what.

Then when I check my Premiere timeline it looks looks like the one above too.

So I restart my machine and the app then it’s okay. Then when I reexport again, it somehows shows up again on different parts of the video etc.

Tried removing unused files and duplicating my timeline, saving to a new project file etc.

Software encoding helps but I dont have the time to wait for 30 min export for a 2-min video :(

Hope you can help me here.

Thank you so much.

two adjustment layers with lighting effects, doesnt work?

When all intensities are set to 0 and I set focus to 0, why once I enable key frames, is there still light showing? I have restated the program, placed this on a new adjustment layer and deleted the other and yet... still lights showing.

https://preview.redd.it/fhir2p0t7jwc1.png?width=2023&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa07d34b5a4cc43cf1807e3a9ec2683e10189880

NOw I have a second adjustment layer also with different lighting effects. Can I not have two adjustment layers on top of each other with different lighting effects?

Best plugin/way to do coloured word by word subtitles?

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a plug in for animating subtitles to highlight word by word in colour? I have done it the old fashioned way of highlighting individual words but there has to be a better way.

Make Premiere ask where to save an export every time?

Is there a way to get Premiere to ask me where I want to save an export each time? I know there's a location link in the settings area of the export screen, but I continually breeze past that and end up saving to an old folder. Premiere Pro 2024 (24.3.0) macOS Sonoma. Thanks!

How to play the same clip multiple times, like picture in picture status, but with a ton at the same time.

So I am trying to play the same clip on my sequence several times over, like picture in picture, but imagine seeing the same clip playing like 16 times at the same time on the playback window, is there a plugin for something like that?

Image Stabilization

At what point in your editing process do you do any image stabilization to deal with shaky handheld cameras? While assembling your first cut or much later in the process?

Also, does anyone use any third party plugins for this that are better than PP’s built in tools?

Thanks all.

Only freezing part of a frame

Hi,

I've had issues finding the right tutorials for this, but I want to a smaller portion of the frame while the rest of the video plays around that.

Kinda of like putting a background blur, but instead of it being a blur it holds the still image of the video when it stopped.

Example: Doing a slight of hand trick, want to hide that something on the left side of the frame has moved.

Please help me understand Multi-Camera Sequences

Howdy, brave Premiere Pro users out there.

I'm working on a project and can't *for the life of me* understand how Multi-Camera Sequences work. I have a project where two camera angles are set up alongside a microphone. The goal is to switch between the two angles while using the audio from the microphone.

I have done this in another project but I can't for the life of me recreate this behavior. Whenever I create a new Multi-Camera Sequence, it ties the audio from the first camera angle to the video. All I want is for the active (unmuted) audio in the Multi-Camera Sequence to be the audio used (as the video shows). How I managed to get there I do not know.

I realize this is a somewhat unclear phrasing of a question, so if you are a Premiere Pro pro and would like to lend an understanding hand in this matter, I'd be ETERNALLY grateful; I'm literally losing my mind over it. To be clear, the attached video is the result I'm looking for.

Blessed be thee who try to help me!

*edit* my novice Reddit experience is showing, I didn't know I couldn't write a post and attach a video. What I was showcasing is essentially that I'm muting all but one audio channel in the Multi-Camera Sequence and it updates correspondingly.

If I use “lift” to remove a portion of timeline with an in and out.., is there a hot key to insert ripple it elsewhere on the timeline?

Rendering at a lower resolution causes my footage to become blurry.

I understand that lower resolution footage is less crisp and detailed than higher resolution footage, however, I am wanting an effect similar to the "nearest neighbor" present in photoshop where scaling down preserves the sharpness of the image. Can anyone help with this?

Missing clips after ProRes Encoding

Hey there!

I'm having a problem with encoding ProRes, wich is needed to be sent to a colorist. The problem is that after encoding a timeline and adding the resulted file in DaVinci Resolve and using a Scene Cut Detect, i end up having missing files in the edit.

It's not neccesarily the whole shot, could be 10-15-20 frames of it. Meanwhile, it plays jerky on the same spots in QuickTime Player, so it's not the DaVinci issue as well.

It happens nearly 10 times in a 12,5-minute video.

Here are the technicalities and i thought maybe somebody has a clue what it actually might be:

Clips:

3840x2160

50fps

10bit Sony S-log3

Timeline:

3840x2160

50fps (tried setting both 25 and 50, no result)

Square Pixels

No Fields

Export settings:

Format: QuickTime

Codec: Apple ProRes 422 HQ (happened before with 4444 too)

Frame Rate: 25fps

The work station is:

MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14'' 16GB

Using a Samsung T7 2TB SSD for project.

I think thats it

HELP! I need to synchronise LARGE audio files with a lot of footage

Hi everyone,

So I'm editing a documentary. I have all the raw footage with audio and my client took it upon herself to send me all the quotes that are suppost to be in the documentary. The problem is that the file she send me is an MP4 export file of all the quotes, so not the raw footage. In order for me to edit the audio I of course need the raw footage.

I've cut the MP4 footage in small pieces so it can synchronise easier and doesn't place the whole file above the raw footage because that doesn't work obviously. When I try and synchronise the audio of the MP4 export files with the raw files it either doesn't work (it messes it up and isn't properly synchronised) or takes way too long (like hours) per file. It's like 6 hours of footage so it would be an absolute pain to find all the quotes myself, because everything is scattered everywhere. My PC is a beast so that isn't the problem.

So to clarify, I ONLY need to know where the quotes are in the raw files, after that I can throw away the MP4 file and edit with the raw files.

Does anyone know how to do this properly? Any suggestions are welcome. Your help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks! :)

Premiere Pro suddenly lagging on certain footage

Hello! I just shot a short film and am currently editing in Adobe Premiere Pro 2024.

We shot A CAM B CAM setups and it all came out perfectly except in the timeline the B CAM footage plays back all laggy and makes Premiere start stuttering/halting when I try watching in the timeline... Any idea how to fix this? Have tried re-importing the footage but to no avail, unfortunately. A CAM playback is just fine.

A CAM was shot with a Sony FX6. B CAM a Sony FX3. Both on Atlas Lens Co Anamorphic Mercurys.

Thank you guys!!

Associate program monitor view with workspace?

Is this possible or am i looking at a macro to achieve it?

e.g. a 'multi-camera' workspace that auto switches to multi-camera view when i enable the workspace, an ‘assembly' workspace that switches to composite view, etc

PC upgrade for this old faithfull?

Hopefully I'm asking in the right place... I'm struggling to work out if it's worth upgrading some components of my old faithful PC. I'm editing 4K video in Premiere Pro from mainly Sony a7s3 (h264, 10bit 422). I was thinking possibly a graphics card or RAM would help? I assumed the motherboard would be too old for upgrading the CPU but I have no idea? What should I upgrade for better performance?

Specs are:

- Intel i7-8700K 3.70GHz 12MB Cache

- Gigabyte Motherboard Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 Intel Z370 S1151/4xDDR4/3xPCIEx16/HDMI/DP/M.2/ATX

- 32 GB RAM (2xCorsair Vengeance LPX 16GB Single DDR4 3000)

- OS Drive - Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SATAIII SSD

- Premiere Cache Drive - Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD

- Asus Nvidia STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING 8GB

- External Samsung SSD's for project and video files

Needing to Re-enhance audio whenever I open Premiere Pro

I’ve recently enhanced all the audio in my project with Essential Sound to make it sound better, but now whenever I close and reopen premiere it tells me it’s all in queue to enhance again. I gave it some time and it’s still enhancing so I don’t even know if it’s working.

It’s only happening to the audio I just enhanced. All the audio I had enhanced before I did this doesn’t need to do this. Is this just a bug from me trying to enhance a lot of audio at once?

Need Suggestions On Laptop/Computer Upgrades

I'm in dire need of a mac/PC upgrade to allow for faster workflow. My current Macbook Pro is painfully slow for most projects and often freezes up when I have too many things in the sequence window.

In terms of an upgrade, what are the best options I should be looking at as a replacement? What are the minimum requirements to have a free flowing Premiere Pro workflow in 2024?

My current work ranges from short social media reels, through to Youtube videos. Below is my current laptop

Transition cut from one body to the next clip

I am editing a screendance right now and have a clip where a dancer runs across the screen right in front of the camera. I want to use her body as the cut to the next clip to make it look smoother instead of a hard transition to the next clip. Any advice? Im new to Premiere and google has been no help :(
