Hi im new postcard collector so please sent me some if you have
Hiya! So I recently changed my address back to a US one after being in the UK for a few months. I am still able to send postcards out, but I haven’t gotten any since I switched my address almost 3 weeks ago. Is that normal?
I love sending out unused vintage postcards so they get a chance to fulfill their purpose. I do see a bunch of incredible modern postcards posted on this subreddit, however. What do you guys think of vintage postcards? Would you be bummed or confused receiving one?
Thank you for your time, and happy crossing!
For honesty - this photo was edited to look more warm, the postcards were under harsh fluorescent light so I tried to correct it ahhh
✨
just one going to the UK! i think the recipient will love it
Which is overpaid by 10 cents from singapore to malaysia .... ?
Not going to post office anytime soon these few days ....
will it cause any sorting delays because of the over paid postage ?
First time postcrossing!! Written earlier today and put in outgoing mail while on my nighttime walk!
(Repost) Heya! I’m trying to do a postcard from around the world sort of thing and from Reddit, Penpals and Postcrossing combined, I’ve gotten cards from the following countries:
USA UK Germany Philippines China Hong Kong Thailand Australia Canada Finland Brazil Portugal Singapore Netherlands Slovakia Czech Republic
I’d love to thank you all in advance! And I am incredibly grateful for everyone who responds!
Mine is generally the same day if I have time to stop by the post office. Recently, I send my postcards the next day after I receive the address, too. Once I sent a postcard a week late.
How long does it take for you to send a postcard(s) and what's your max. days for it?
My first outgoing post.
I was active on postcrossing before Covid. And then you guys know what happened several countries couldn’t send mails out. So I kinda gradually give up postcrossing. I got back few weeks ago cause doctor told me to find something more to do to help anxiety and depression. So far I think it helps a little and I find another gaol. To trade stickers all around the world to fill my desk with. (In my other post)
Happy postcrossing and hello again my postcrossers.
Connecticut, Finland, Shanghai, Czech Republic and Germany.
A letter, 2 new cards, 1 vintage, 1 cut from a beer box and a homemade card for my kids
I’m sending a postcard to China and the address has been given in both the chinese script and English. I know it’s usually advised to write them in the native script if possible but I’m not too sure if my copy of the address is clear enough and if German post offices will even be able to deal with that because especially my city is often being a bitch lol.
Has anyone made experience with copying the address themselves (printing is a little hard) or with putting both versions?
.. all from Germany sent on the same day! I often wonder how the Postcrossing algorithm works.. PS the cards were lovely but my head shakes and eyes roll that 5 postcards from Germany are assigned to the same person on the same day!!
I collect postcards as well as stamps. I was wondering if I put the correct amount of postage on a postcard can I also add foreign or historical stamps that I like for aesthetic value? Will it confuse the post office or make them void the postage or return to sender?
