Total noob needs help 😭

I’m completely new to instant film photography and I just got a Polaroid now + and I need help with the aperture I think? I too one normal picture (the more visible photo) and one double exposure shot (the other one) how can I fix the brightness issue I got going on and can it be done by fixing the settings in the app (ps for the double exposure shot I used 2 different lens filters and one with flash and the other without if that’s important)

Solution to keep polaroid outside?

I do not have a lot of experience or knowlegde about polaroids but I read that keeping them outside in the sun worsens the quality.

My girlfriend passed away 4 months ago and the (in my opinion) most wonderful photo of us together was shot on a polaroid. I would love to put this on the grave since there is not a gravestone yet, would this be possible without ruining the picture? It would mean the world to me!

any expired polaroid tips?

hello all, i have just purchased these expired polaroids (all prod date 2017), these weren't stored properly but it was like $25cad for all three so i wanted to take a shot. from what ive read these might literally be dust now, BUT if u were to shoot these as if they were how would you shoot them?

i have a box 600 and an sx-70 (i also could put an nd filter on)

i was thinking maybe putting the exposure half-all the way to dark cause expired (from what i read) tend to overexpose. im also thinking of trying to use my sx-70 w/ nd.

what do u guys think?

Scanning

Thank you to whoever suggested scanning at FedEx, as I do not have a scanner at home. Truly, it makes all the difference!

Impossible Dog

I haven't shot much since 2020..

I forgot what film was in my sx-70. Turns out, some Impossible B&W circa 2019 (or before whatever year it was Polaroid bought them out) that I put in my camera maybe a year ago.

Apparently expiredB&W becomes very warm.

Looking forward to buying some colour film this year. Apparently they've really figured it out since I last bought some.

Don't buy a home kids. It'll make the polaroid hobby unaffordable.

Older Cameras

20 years ago I had a couple polaroid cameras that I got at a thrift stores. I don't know what kind they were but all of the photos I have from that time, are in focus and the colors are bright and clear. Last Christmas I got a Polaroid Now and my pictures are usually blurry and dark. Does anyone think the older cameras worked better then the newer versions? 🤔

Any info on this and the LMS system?

Just found this in a box in our garage while my parents were cleaning it out and want to better understand it and how this specific Polaroid works with the LMS so I can’t take the best photos

What caused this dark spot?

Wondering what mightve caused the dark spot with red outlining in the bottom of the photo. Read it could be over exposure, but it wasnt very bright out.

What would Captiva look like with today’s film?

i got curious and cut one of my polaroids down to captiva-size. not perfectly, mind you, but it’s cool to think what it’d look like in an alternate universe where the impossible project saved captiva instead of spectra 😂

I’m a father of 3

3/6 of the cameras I want collected 😁😁 I actually wanted a sun 660 but the supercolor was cheaper and also basically the same so I’m more than happy with it in my collection!

expired film not stored properly worth a buy?

hello i was wondering if polaroids that are not stored properly are worth a buy?

the films are:

impossible: third man records ed (yellow and black)

duochrome 600 blue (black framing)

reg polaroid 600

she told me the dates on these are 2022 though im assuming its only the duochrome and the reg polaroid, but i know the impossible films were made longggg ago... does anyone know if these (esp the impossible film) has a chance to still work?

apparently the polaroids are stored in her closet

i may give it a chance, cause ig we never truly know until we try it, but i atleast want to set my expectations of the potential of it not even working lol.

First shot from the 20+ year absence (story in caption)

I posted the picture yesterday of all the film that arrived. My plan was to create an art project for our barbershop, so I bought a camera for everyone and ordered the film in large quantity to distribute between the four of us. The goal was in the first month to focus on us as individuals, and then the second month take pictures of our clients in the world. When I showed up this morning, half of my shop had quit overnight. Zero notice, I was completely blindsided.

Now I have a stupid amount of film I spent an equally stupid amount of money on, two barbers not paying a lease anymore, as well as 1/2 the contribution to the art project.

To say I was defeated this morning is an understatement. The barber that has stuck with me from the very beginning took this shot of me finding the key in the top drawer because this is a moment I want to memorize so I can learn whatever the universe is trying to teach me.

For all of you that gave me feedback and encouragement yesterday on my new pursuit, I banked all of what was shared, and I truly think your encouragement is the positive I have taken from my weekend. The fate of the art project is uncertain, but I’m definitely going to take everyone’s advice to find some passion I can throw into this new hobby, and I’m excited to share whatever comes out of it with you.
