WHAT'S GOING ON?
This is the place to:
plan and create polandball projects with others
ask questions and get advice about your comics
participate in our collab game threads!
Rules:
Collaborations can not be used for approval requests or contests.
Everything must adhere to the official polandball tutorial.
All posts' titles must begin with either [Artist Request], [Writer Request], [General Request], [Offer], or [Question] depending on what help you need.
The OP of a thread decides who his/her collaborators are.
Use flairs to indicate when your collaborator(s) are found and when your project has been finished.
Decide who posts the comic to the main subreddit beforehand. All collaborators must agree or the comic will not be allowed to be posted.
Credit must be given to every collaborator in the main sub thread.
/r/polandballarena requests should be used for /r/polandball and affiliated subreddits.
Tips:
You can use this handy template for better thread organization during large projects
Use spoiler tags (#spoiler) to keep aspects of your comic from being immediately visible, but still accessible to potential/interested collaborators.
Or keep details restricted to PMs if you want your comic to pack more of a surprise

###We will close it down soon and move its contents to /r/PolandballCommunity.
The Arena was, despite our best efforts, always small and not very active. This saddened us, because collaborations are an important and under-utilized activity for the polandball medium.
However, we believe that collaborations have a greater chance to flourish and become a big thing if those efforts are instead integrated to becoming a feature of the community subreddit. As such, it made more sense to all of us to simply let r/polandballcommunity be the hub for any and all collaboration projects. This is the community subreddit after all. So, pack up your things over here and move there with your projects.
But with collaborations being organized from the new sub instead instead, the Arena simply no longer serves any purpose. So we're shutting it down.
There will be a grace period for a couple of days so that everyone who currently has unanswered requests in the Arena will have a chance to transfer them over here instead.
It is about the Russo-Japanese war, yadda yadda. I wrote the script in normal English but I really need some help to make it authentic polandball. I already drew it and all, only missing the dialogue. (Btw, sorry if the formatting looks odd, I only write like this...)
1 Panel: (Russia empire and Ukraine) Ukraine ~ General! General! The japanese declared war on us! They destroyed the Pacific fleet!
2 Panel: Ukraine ~ What should we do?! Russia Empire ~ There is only one thing we can do... Send in the Baltic Fleet.
3 Panel: (Russians sailors drunk on a dreadnought)
4 Panel: (Firing at an British ship) Russia ~ Fire! UK ~ Good luck not going through the Suez!
5 Panel: (Firing at an another Russian dreadnought) Russia ~ Fire! The other Russian Sailor ~ Blyat!
6 Panel: (Face-to-face with a Japanese ship) Russia ~ Ha! I finally am here! Prepare to Battle!
7 Panel: (Russia blows up) Japan ~ Fire
8 Panel: (Ukraine reading a note) Ukraine ~ And then the Baltic fleet died...
9 Panel: Beat
10 Panel: Ukraine ~ You are a terrible general. Russia Empire ~ SEND IN THE CASPIAN FLEET!
I'm planning to do a comic, which I would call "Time for action"
The layout I have for the said comic is this one.
However, I'm not good at dialogues, so I need help with the dialogues in the areas of the layout with red border.
If anyone has a better idea for the layout, feel free to expose it.
Usually, flags are the same on both sides, so do country balls have to have their backs drawn the same way as their front? Or they can be drawn like normal things? (Do I have to elaborate on that last bit?)
I know in the rules it says "no x-posting" but i'm not sure if this only applies to Reddit. I'd like to post one of the things i put on Polandballart somewhere else.
A leather chair, to be correct.
What I am looking for, really, are tips to improve my drawing skills with a mouse. How can I draw a leather chair on paint? Tips and tricks to get the colors or the details right .
My current attempt. -> https://i.imgur.com/EysfMNf.png
I want to make a comic about colonialism, preferably about Spain, Britain and maybe France in the Americas, but I have no ideas for it past that
I've always enjoyed Planetball and planned to make a comic of my own but I've also wanted to make gifs/art for the "sub". However there is no such thing. I feel that while similar to Polandball it's distinct enough to be a separate community of some kind. So is a gif/art page possible? Thx
Panel 1: (USA and Poland are talking.) US: Later today, I need to pay Germany. Poland: Why? US: So Germany can pay Britain and France, so that I can be payed. Poland: That sound dumb to me. Panel 2: (Another US hits ground, having committed suicide.) US: Why did you do that? US2: The stock market just crashed. It's unbelievable, I tell ya. US: All my money was in stocks! Panel 3: (Germany enters, with a panicked look) Germany: America I need ze dollarcash and of quick! US: I don't have any. Germany: Ach! But Britain is angry! Panel 4: (UK enters, angry.) UK: America, tell Germany to give me money or give me some or whatever I NEED MONEY. US: I don't have any! Germany doesn't have any either! UK: WELL AMERICA, that makes three of us! All because you don't know how to run a economy! Panel 5: Poland: This is depressing. US: I think I'll call this the great depression, because being poor is depressing. Panel 6: (All look ahead, sadly.)
So many here probably are familiar with the rifle manufacturers used by the belligerents in the First World War:
UK: Lee-Enfield
Germany: Mauser
Russia: Mosin-Nagant
Etc.
Etc.
Austria: Mannlicher and I hope it’s pronounced the way I think it is.

Panel 1: Malaysia present chicken rendang to UK
Malaysia : Here is of Malaysia national special dish
Panel 2-3: UK reaction
UK: Why is this chicken not crispy and so full of sauce, i cant bloody eat it.
UK: I mean Indonesian food is nice and all but this isn't good enough.
UK: Namaste and all that, bye.
Panel4: Malaysia there alone with seething bursting anger
Malaysia: stupid UK cunt, come here and colonise for spices 100 years and stupid about food
Malaysia :u think this is fish and chips or something ,rendang not supposed to be crispy, even the scottish knows that.
The scottish thing is a reference to the fact that gordon ramsay had learnt to cook rendang from malaysia.
This comic is based off the Nikita Krushchev trip to the US in 1959.
Panel 1: Airport scene, USA says to the arriving USSR "Welcome to America, Rooskie!", with a warm smile. USSR smiles back.
Panel 2: USA is giving USSR a tour. "So this is New York City", as they stand in Times square. USSR could reply something like "is big"
Panel 3: "This is a steel mill in Pennsylvania!" USA showing the USSR a steel mill, and US workers working at it. USSR comments; "the true amerikaner." with a smile.
Panel 4: USA with USSR at a baseball game, USSR trying a US hot-dog.
Panel 5: "How's your trip so far?" The US asks the USSR in a hotel room.
Panel 6: "Good, I cannot wait to make seeings of Mickey Mouse!" USSR says with a smile.
Panel 7: Kazakhastan (or other USSR member) could approach the USSR at this point, and say. "Psst, we can't make goings to disney."
Panel 8: USSR, mad, "WHY NOT." "is-is-not safe" the country who told the USSR would nervously reply.
Panel 9: (the next day cheesy panel)
Panel 10: "Why can't ich goings to Disney world? Is not safe? Ha! What are you amerikaner doing, Hiding nukes there?" The USSR says with a smile.
Panel 11: USA laughs "Haha! Of course not!" Looking at a smiling USSR.
Panel 12: "The missiles are at Universal Studios." USA deadpan tells the USSR; who also looks deadpan back.
Note: the Universal part is the only ficticious thing in the script.
Nikita Khruschev actually did really want to meet Mickey Mouse, and really did say "what are you hiding missiles at disney" because his safety couldn't be guaranteed there.
If anyone would love to help me with this comic, that'd be MAGNIFICENT. :)
I am a decent programmer with knowledge in GML. I am thinking of making a full Polandball game. If I should make one, it should be original and not too ambitious. Should I make a shooter or grand strategy etc?
Are there any general rules of sorts, or tips on this? I've been thinking about making a comic about the USA's political situation.
P1: Poland pops into existence after the end of WW2. P2: Soviet chains Poland P3: Poland sees from a distance how rich, clean, relevant and happy are the countries at the other side of the iron curtain. P4: Poland struggles to free himself. P5: Once liberated, he runs to greet the west European countries P6: For Poland's desilusion, Europe has become a decadent gender party welcoming 8-balls and muslim countries. Behind you can see a derpy Poland crying "why?"
Artist Requested, Recommendations and comments on the script are welcome.
I read a particular comic a few months ago but can’t find it again. It was the inside of EU’s head showing his slow breakdown with all the different countries doing their own weird things.
Want free Karma? Well, this might be your lucky break! The goal of this is to make a comic series based off the Irish dark comedy of "The Cripple of Inishman", but setting it in the Polandball universe!
If possibly interested about the series, leave a comment or message me!
Panel 1: Poland at the beach, by himself, in the ocean, maybe a cute Nepal as a shark in the background too. Poland is wearing an Indonesian hat.
Panel 2: Poland says; "Is nice day to make swim in ocean!" Happily
Panel 3: China falls from sky, Poland in shock.
Panel 4: "Actuarry, these waters berong to rightfurr Chinese clay, says so in plophocey book 24, page 120..." China says, looming over Poland.
Panel 5: Poland takes hat off and says; "Silly China, I am Poland, not Indonesia, this be Baltic ocean!" with a smile.
Panel 6: From the shore, Germany appears and also adds; "Poland is right, is not Chinese waters"
Panel 7: "is deutsch" as Germany turns into Reichtangle, now looming over Poland. (Poland might say a small "kurwa" after this)

There are a few maps, and they are one of the most popular posts. I would think it's because of everyone interest of their own states. But there is no good way to see the changes in different years. Just an idea
Just a casual question. Been wondering about this for the entire three-and-a-half years I’ve spent here, and right now it seems like the tags are being chosen mostly arbitrarily.
Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Japan are being annoyed by China and North Korea.
They agree to move to somewhere else together.
Firstly, they travel to South Asia, but after Hong Kong makes pork dishes they are forced to leave.
They then travel to the Middle East, where they decide that it's even worse than East Asia, despite Macau and Dubai happily gambling together.
South America is next, but Japan refuses to stay, due to Argentina claiming that its sun is best.
Finally, they arrive in Europe, where Hong Kong rejoins the UK, Macau and Monaco go to a casino and Japan and Taiwan settle in the North Sea (crushing Sealand).
a pretty straightforward comic, with England looking calm, composed, happy throughout; Japan looking increasingly agitated and frustrated by his lack of creativity; a source of humor would be seeing how many different facial expressions can be contrasted between the two.
England (left) saying new, heart, spirit; Japan (right) saying shin, shin, shin.
England saying origin, capital, apparition, thread, strict order, phantom limb, original poem, reduction of capital; Japan says "genshi" every time.
England saying idea, high-rise, dispute, high priest, public funeral, magnificent, red algae, ore bed, frost precipitation, herb, hurrying, confused fighting, sending back, sailing, imperial ancestors, school funeral, high and dry ground, good running, muzzle-loading gun, musical echo, bite wound; Japan saying 'kousou' every time. Perhaps Japan eventually says 'fawkku yuo' and walks off panel in frustration and England finishes without him.
Henlo o/ I started working on a multi-panel epic and I decided to do a little geometric design for the lines separating the panels.
Since this is just a separator and quite tedious to do it like 12 times, am I allowed to copy-paste it? I can provide with an image of the end result if it is needed.
Thanks!
I've been working on an approval request, and I have mexico in multiple panels. It took a ridiculous amount of time to draw the seal for the first Mexico I had. I don't mind putting in the effort, but do any of the pros around here have tips for streamlining the process of drawing it?
Hello, fellow Earthlings. So, I had a nice idea for a Planetball comic. I got as far to finishing the first draft for it.
However, I don't have that much time on my hand to finish the comic, so if I do it alone, it will take a long while till it is finished (especially considering the space-y background and the immense amount of details the planets need). Could any of you help out in finishing this comic up? I am more than happy to provide the actual script for the comic, or to answer any question regarding it.
Thanks in advance!
[EDIT] I made the second draft, which features dear Saturn in her full glory. I would still like someone else to take this project since I don't have that much time to put into the comic... Suggestions are also welcomed!
Lastly, I was thinking of adding the large moons (Ganymede, Calisto, Io, Europa, Titan) to their parent planets' side in panel 5. What do you guys think?
Would it be proper to add the odd Spanish word into the Vatican’s engrish as a nod to the Argentine Pope, or would it run afoul of the rule against representing people?
I've seen comics about countries measuring and comparing coastlines. I already have a hunch about what they're supposed to be, but just in case I'm wrong, what DO coastlines represent in polandball?
So there's a saying where when somebody doesn't know something, they say, "Have you been living under a rock for all your life?" And of course Saudi Arabia is right under Iraq, and Iraq and a rock are very similar. So the comic is America talks to Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia doesn't know what America is talking about, America asks the phrase, and Saudi Arabia says yes I would do this but I can't draw Saudi Arabia.
I just learned that this sub exists, this is an idea I had floating in my head for about a year for a four panel no dialogue comic.
Basically, panel one is Japan looking at a Nazi poster saying they're kicking the jews out of germany and mentioning jewish bankers and jewish physics. It's nearly identical to the first panel of the comic that gave me this idea. The second panel is Japan showing up on German shores in a battleship loaded with of bags of yen. The third panel is America showing up in an aircraft carrier full of WWI gold, pissing Japan off. The fourth panel is of course Germany being very confused.
(I posted this without a tag then deleted and reposted immediately, sorry about that.)
