looks useful in deep knowledge discovery, but I am not an active podcast listener yet, and i am only interested in tech and sports. anyone tried this in other genres and how does it work? any other tool also providing this feature?
Just binged this whole thing.
Trigger warning - distressing content around religious abuse of power, this one being about the mormon church, but a really interesting listen
Hello! 28F looking for podcast recommendations that would be helpful in getting my life together. Im interested in any topics like: procrastination, laziness, anxiety, stress, starting a fitness lifestyle, having a healthy diet, building healthy habits, creating daily routines, etc. Thanks!
I am trying to re-listen to a specific podcast episode. It’s a younger woman’s podcast. The episode has a special guest, a male functional medicine doctor who specializes in women’s health. He is white, married, i think with a couple daughters. Has written at least one book. He talks about women’s hormones on the podcast and testing hormones and how any western medicine hormone test does not test what actually needs testing. He also talks about the differences in what get men in the mood and women in the mood based on what they hear/are being told/how they are talked to. The title of the podcast i remember being somewhat click-baity. It was something like “How to always get your woman in the mood” “How to get your girlfriend to always want sex” something like that.
I'm a fan of blank check, the big picture, rewatchables, etc. but looking for a new pod with idk...hosts who are around my age? Like in their 20s but watching a good amount of movies. Feel like it'd lend to a different perspective. Any suggestions?
Hey everyone, a few years back, I listened to this music analysis podcast that I really liked, but, for some reason I can’t remember, I unsubscribed from it (I think my excuse at the time was that I had too much of a backlog).
I remember one particular episode where the hosts were analyzing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey, breaking down the flow of the song, chord progressions, etc. The hosts had a piano where they would recreate parts from the song.
Does this ring a bell to anyone? I would love to rediscover this podcast. All my searching has been in vain, and my ultimate fear is that the show is just wiped from the Internet or something like that. Thank you!!
Mine are This Jungian Life, Razib Khan's Unsupervised Learning, and Fresh Air. These host's voice to me convey such rich nuance in their voices that it is difficult to catch at higher speeds.
Yo so like every night I go to bed and listen to YouTube usually like Hivemind (music/comedy channel) or commentary stuff or whatever but then I wake up in the middle of the night listening to this podcast called Jocko. It only happens at night too. I don't know what Jocko means and it's very alpha male and I don't fw that. It’s starting to fucking scare me now it’s like every night and I have no history of watching any similar content. What is Jocko? Why is this happening? It's a heavy alpha male vibe and I watch no videos that would correlate to it. Please tell me if anyone else is being haunted by Jocko.
so with the new spotify-patreon subscription update, my entire podcast feed for new episodes is filled with dozens of minisodes, bonus content and early access episodes which I'm not much interested about. I lose track of free episodes I am intending to listen to. did this piss anybody else off and is it possible to filter only the episodes I am allowed to play in that feed? I couldn't find the setting if there is.
Laci Mosley from Scam Goddess. Funny, quick witted, knows a lot about scams and openly bi (which as a queer woman intensified my crush on her). Just love her, especially when she is a guest on another show like The Big Flop or Normal Gossip.
Sabrina Tavernese, formerly (?) a host on The Daily. It's mainly her voice that does it for me.
ETA: Alice Levine! I forgot about Alice Levine from the British Scandal and My dad wrote a porno.
My partner loves stuff about russias tsars and places like pompei. Any good podcasts you could recommend?
Any will be good . I don't mind what leagues or types of football they focus on,even team focused could be good
I came across an old playlist I made last year and felt like maybe I missed out on a lot of good ReplyAll episodes.
What are your favorites/memorable episodes?
There two part Long Distance is one of the few episodes I came across and I really enjoyed it. Did they also have any other stories like this?
So I listened to History of Rome, Revolutions, China, Byzantium, Fall of Civilizations, Hardcore History. What else can I go for? I very much prefer long arcs, rather than episodic poscasts. Thanks!
Recently I saw someone suggest the Polybius Conspiracy and I binged it this weekend. It's about the possible existence of an arcade game and a guy saying that he was abducted after playing it. The investigation is pretty solid and I loved it. It reminded me a little of Finding Drago.
Anyways, it made me want to find more of the 5-10 episode podcasts about small conspiracies, mysteries and such. I don't want any haunted stories or true crime podcasts (or at least not anything too heavy).
Any suggestions?
I'm on the hunt for a fun and lighthearted podcast centered around doomsday prepping or off-the-grid living to listen to while working or commuting. I used to enjoy CrazyRussianHacker growing up and watched Doomsday Preppers for a while, but I lost interest once the more questionable aspects started to emerge. I'm looking for something with a relaxed vibe—nothing too heavy on conspiracies, as I tend to get easily stressed by that kind of content.
Looking forward to hearing your recommendations!
Some of the best I've listened to are The Economist's podcasts on the lives of Xi Jinping and Narendra Modi. Loved this format, but I'm open to podcasts similar or even just a bit similar which cover anything to do with current politics, political history, political figures, etc
How does that work? Who does the business pay for the ad? Why do some podcasts have this but others don’t?
So recently two of my favorite podcasts started advertising for cosmetic GLP-1 use, or Hers, and it just really grosses me out, and I find I can't listen to them anymore. I'm not looking for your opinion on GLP-1s, I support their use for medical need, but given the shortage and the severity of the drug, I don't support their use for casual weight loss, especially given both of the podcasts seem geared towards women. ANYWAYS I'm now looking for podcasts similar to these, would love any suggestions!
Edit: for clarification, they’re ad reads, not ads placed in the podcast by distributors.
basically the title. and on spotify. i am german and i finished listening to a german true crime podcast, but the other german true crime podcasts really dont hit my taste.
so any suggestions?
Hey all, I just listened to Scamanda and I was really disappointed. They never quite get into it and I listened to a bit of the final episode and I don't know if I want to finish it. It's all very vague snippets of interviews. To explain, I mean things like, what were the "lies" told in family court? How did Amanda get custody of her step daughter? What specific lies did the reporter pick up on the blog. What was she investigating for EIGHT YEARS, what made the detective want to pick up the case?
They always brushed over the actual facts like they were going to get into it after they painted a picture of Amanda and all the support she was getting, but then all the podcast ended up being about how much people loved Amanda and the ups and downs of her story. I was especially interested in where the money might be going, and were there any signs of how they were spending this money, but there wasn't anything. There's a lot of discussion of court documents but never what was on them.
I'm not just saying all this to say this, I wanted to know if there are any podcasts or podcast episodes that get more into the specifics I'm interested in on this topic, or maybe podcasts about other scammers that are a little more in depth?
.
I've been listening to Dear Sugars endless on loop for the last few years and hoping to explore new ones to replace it. But nothing seems to have the same magic formula of two caring well spoken hosts bouncing deeply well thought out life advice. Death, Sex & Money just doesn't have the same energy. Savage Love kind of occupy the same vibe, but as much as I share his political beliefs, I'm not looking for a political podcast. "Terrible, Thanks for Asking" is great though.
Looking for podcasts about the nephilim, the lost gnostic gospels, biblical conspiracy theories and biblical history. I've heard a lot of one off episodes but am looking for more in depth!
I’m looking for podcasts where the host talks like they’ve just stepped outta a dusty ol’ Western town, the stronger the accent the better, thank you!
Does anyone have the same issue please?
Looking for left wing politics (uk based) or lefty comedy/politics podcasts (uk based). Any recommendations?
Just finished the Magnus Archives and am looking for something similar to start. Any suggestions?
I can listen to “whatever I want” at my new job (no headphones though) but it can’t make people uncomfortable, which is a big guess and is making me feel pretty trapped. It’s a museum, so educated, socially correct types, which I can vibe with on a personal level but it’s wildly incompatible with my entertainment preferences. (Folk punk, irreverent sitcoms like Sunny, Trevor Moore, Stepbrothers, basically I have the exact taste of a man child stoner uncle somehow)
I’ve tried sfw 80s and 90s music but I can’t do it anymore. I gave Nateland a shot due to good reviews and Bargatze’s stand up, but the podcast is overtly Christian and I am not. Plus I just don’t dig groups of friends or couples talking about whatever.
I think my best shot is educational material, but I tried documentaries and it slowed down my production to a crawl.
Are there any super funny, mostly safe for work educational podcasts you can think of? I know it’s pretty specific, I’m willing to accept a no. Thank you for any suggestions.
EDIT: Oh my gosh guys, thank you so much. I have podcasts for years now!
