Welcome to /r/pinkpistols, an unofficial home for the Pink Pistols group. Please review our rules and guidelines before posting or commenting.
We are dedicated to the legal, safe, and responsible use of firearms for self-defense of the sexual-minority community. We no longer believe it is the right of those who hate and fear gay, lesbian, bi, trans, or polyamorous persons to use us as targets for their rage. Self-defense is our RIGHT.
"Our purpose is to advocate self-defense of the sexual minority community. We do NOT involve ourselves in other issues, such as gay marriage, gay rights, the size or structure of government, political parties, nor do we champion causes such as AIDS awareness or the decriminalization of sex work. We stay focused on our specific goal. There are lots of other organizations advocating for these other causes. Rather than divide our energies as an organization, we instead suggest that our members belong to multiple organizations, as befits their consciences. We do NOT conflate our name with the other causes and movements, of whatever political stripe."

Does anyone know of any groups to shoot with in Wisconsin? Preferably around the Madison area.
Does anyone know about any active leftist gun groups in the OKC area? I'm in Norman, and it seems like just about all of them aren't active anymore
I've been trying since the end of June to get a response about training from at least one of the listed trainers in my state. I messaged briefly with the moderator of the OBS Facebook group who said they would see what is happening, but I've gotten nothing but silence there for weeks as well. I know that organizations that depend on volunteers deserve a lot of patience, but at a certain point it starts to look like OBS, like many other organizations that start in social media, may have evaporated and left little but their name and logo behind.
Beginner here, looking for queer folks who are in Hoboken/JC area that could help out teaching basics, possibly go to shooting range together. I’m interested in getting more comfortable around firearms with goal of getting a handgun for self defense.
I had experience shooting as a kid, but have not held a gun in 10+ years.
I don't know what to do. I don't even feel safe at work, because at my last job the shooting was right outside and i grabbed civilians involved and dragged them inside as police were shot. i believe it was a terrorist attack but we'll never know due to lack of evidence.
I was also just a couple blocks from the bombing in Oslo, and knew instantly it was a bomb and was scared there would be more.
I have other bad luck traumas such as a high school shooting, and an unknown male who sexually assaulted and was stalking roommate for 3 months until he was caught. I have never slept well after that because i was gonna go protect everyone if he came in.
I'm a protector and run into emergencies to protect others. My gf is trans and I'm cis, so obviously her safety is an even bigger concern than mine. I would jump in to protect her immediately even though she's much taller lol. But I've always jumped in fights to protect my guy friends too.
I can barely leave the house and can't handle large crowds. I missed pride and my partner was devastated. But I called and no police were gonna be on duty and this political climate is scary. Even fucking Trump can't be protected, how the hell are those of us that people want to exterminate be safe??
I'm going to therapy for that, but how do i carry SOMETHING that makes me feel safe and is still legal but hideable on my person at work? I'm thinking a knife on a tactical belt... But i know they can be dangerously used against you. I just think it would make me feel safe.
I have a $150 hiking knife but it's wayyy too sharp and too hard to carefully open in a quick situation.
Any ideas?
Do those let chain alarms accidentally go off a lot?
Also will going to the shooting range and having them let me stand there with ear muffs on help my physical response? I have also lived in crime areas and automatically dive bomb to the ground if i hear gunshots. I'm trying to fix that.
I don't know, I gotta feel safe.
This isn't working. (I do have two black labs so i feel safe at home. But neither are calm enough to train to be a service dog.)
Thank you.
Edit: I can't have any "brass knuckles" (like the kitty keychains), taser, knives longer than 5", or anything worse.
Hi all. New to the sub - I’m trying at assist with a local Rubber group who are looking to hold a kink friendly shoot at a gun range in Metro Atlanta.
If you know of a queer or kink friendly range in Metro Atlanta, let me know and i’ll get them the information.
Also directing these guys to the local Pink Pistols chapter.
Thanks for any help
Newbie here. I just purchased my first rifle. Finally bought my own, and they said my background check is delayed, they said that "in a week or so, usually" they'll know whether I can take it home or not. I'm in oregon btw and I'm wondering if anyone here could tell me if A) is this a normal thing? B) why would my bg check get delayed? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: my background check finally cleared, after 8 friggin days!
The only way women will able to protect themselves is for you all to be able to protect yourselves and each other by encouraging others to come join your movement and get trained since society, courts, and police are failing you. I'm doing what I can to support your efforts & my girlfriend to be her own person that can hold her own but it takes quite a few people to prevent more future disasters. Peace, love, and prosperity to all of you!! You will, & are accomplishing amazing things!!!! I believe in you!!!!
I've reached out via email.

That post is for context.
I am trying to raise awareness and make sure people in this area of South Georgia vote blue this election.
Our democratic party meets in a few weeks, and I'd like to have a viable plan of action by then.
I've been reaching out to activist groups. We have a lot of liberal/ progressive people (particularly minorities, lgbtq+ members, and Yount women)
We just need to get people to care.
I don’t believe there’s an active pink pistols Chicago chapter. But does anyone in this group live in the area? I’m a Black queer person new to the firearm world and a buddy and/or safe place to practice shooting. Happy to share more about myself if anyone is interested! Thanks for reading :)

If there's anybody left in here you are welcome to join r/LGBTQGunOwners it's a new group for anybody in the LGBTQ community or allies that wants to learn or own firearms.
It's getting pretty dangerous out there for us. We need to be prepared for the worst.
I'm always looking for shooting buddies that aren't shit sticks.
Hello I organized a shoot in a not quite dead pink pistols group. The old admin reached out and handed it over to me after so now I guess I run my local chapter.
I'm looking for a few things.
Any suggestions on things your chapter has organized that we're good to get people active either online or in person?
Any trainings that worked really well for your group?
How did you build a mod team?
Not part of the community, but looking for left leaning gun groups on Reddit.
Anyone here know of any others?
Has Anyone shot one of these? I'm looking for a longer barreled carry and I like the capacity and included optic just don't know anyone that's actually used it.
Saw it cheep on grabagun.
I am developing weakness in my hands due to early osteoarthritis in my hands. Can anyone suggest a weapon with a more optimal trigger system for this? I have a pistol but I can only practice for a few minutes and then it hurts too much.
I live out in “the country”….which means I can literally stand on my porch and target practice without violating any noise ordinance or risking others. I am very tempted to offer to host a shooting event for my local pink pistol group. I have concerns over liability if one of the participants hurts themselves. I also have, and I know it’s both rational and irrational, that there could be a “Dylan Roof” who participates and seems to seek the groups help only to turn a gun on the group.
Please give me advice.
As a southpaw, HK is my go to. To nab one at $399.99 with the rebate…. Thrilled.

Hi, I’m new to the gun scene and looking to make my first handgun purchase. Does anyone know of lgbtq friendly shops in the Central Valley area of California? I guess I need somewhere that would show me the basics, and somewhere I can get my firearms safety certificate.
