Hi, Mercury Fans! Indiana Fever fan here. Given the recent trade, this seemed like a good place to get some informed opinions on Sophie Cunningham's game and what she could bring to the Fever.
This is where I'm coming from:
I've seen Cunningham play a few times. She's a decent shooter and a bit of a firecracker, but nothing else has really stood out to me. I've also heard from a couple Mercury fans who were unhappy with her defense, but Fever fans excited about the trade seem to be talking her up as some defensive stopper.
So I don't really know what to believe.
And maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I'm a bit suspicious because from what I can tell, the Fever fans excited about this trade are posting risque photos of Cunningham and talking about how they support her & Caitlin Clark for...let's call it "political reasons." (Myself, I started supporting the Fever in '09 after my hometown team folded, and our franchise's former star player was on the Indiana staff...it's been a really weird 10 months).
My husband and I think that means DT is retiring.
I thought that some of you may want to hear about some of your favorite players from when they were members of this team. Here are their links to posts I made about them.

the two games I attended in the 2023 season for the merc were Sky V Mercury and Mystics V Mercury.
and then we got Cloud and Copper. Life’s so strange like that.
Was just looking at a list of free agents for next year. If DT does end up retiring, thoughts on signing Kelsey Mitchell?
I think she’d compliment the guard room of Kah and Cloud in a starting line up. Add BG and a TBD versatile post player at the 4 position, this could be a really amazing (and terrifying 😁) starting line up.
