Tabasco #A558759 originally arrived at OCAS as a stray. He was there for about a month and was recently adopted. He landed back at the shelter a few days later as a stray, per OCAS: Tabasco was picked up in the field after having been involved in a bite incident where he bit a person’s hand while they were trying to break up a dog fight, which Tabasco initiated.

In the shelter, Tabasco has been social and friendly towards people. He likes to jump on your lap. He has been easy to leash up and enjoys time out in the yard. The issue comes with his level of reactivity towards other dogs, including when he passes other kennels.

Tabasco is a little senior guy, at 7 years old, 25 lbs, neutered and (unfortunately) he is heartworm positive. The shelter does have a sponsorship program to help with that.

Rest in Love and In Peace Azul and Goose. Your lives mattered to us. Euthanized by Orange County Animal Services, Orlando, FL.

💔💔💔 12/13 DEVASTATING AND HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: Azul and Goose were EUTHANIZED by Orange County Animal Services, ORLANDO, FL.

They had no foster offer and no rescue interest 😭😭😭

Beautiful and loving dogs. Azul was a healthy 2 year old husky mix. And Goose only had treatable medical issues. He had arthritis and cataracts. How scared he must have been at the shelter 😭. Both dogs were failed by their owners and then by the “shelter” that took them in and was supposed to help and protect them!

They both deserved to live happy and wonderful lives. They should have been given a chance to be loved. Both of them deserved so much more 😭.

Azul and Goose, I am so so sorry that we were not able to save you. I prayed for miracles, but they never happened. I can’t stop crying for both of you🙏❤️😭.

I love you both so very much. Rest in peace and in love sweet dogs . You will never be forgotten. I hope I can see both of you in Heaven one day 🙏💔😭🌈

Thank you all so much for trying to save these sweet and beautiful dogs🙏😭

PS: There were 9 urgent dogs at Orange County Animal Services, Orlando, FL this past week. Three on the euthanasia list (Hiro, Gomez and Azul). And six urgent medical dogs (Homer, Annalisse, Carlson, Mufasa, Totoro and Goose).

I will post the ones that were rescued in s separate post.

This is the update for all of them:

  • Hiro (rescued by Shiba Inu Rescue of Flórida).
  • Gomez (rescued by A Better Life Pet Rescue).
  • Azul (euthanized by Orange County Animal Services, Orlando, FL 😭😭😭)
  • Homer (rescued by Touch of Grey Rescue).
  • Annalisse (received a rescue hold. No information on the rescue that is pulling her yet).
  • Carlson was adopted.
  • Mufasa was returned to his owners.
  • 🚨Totoro is still in need. He has a separate post on this page. Please continue to share him.🚨
  • Goose (euthanized by Orange County Animal Services, Orlando, FL 😭😭😭)

URGENT: Bonnie needs foster, rescue and pledges (or adopter). Deadline Monday 12/16. She is at Orange County Animal Services, ORLANDO, FL. Please message me if you can foster her for a rescue.

🆘URGENT : NEEDS PLACEMENT BY MONDAY 12/16 🆘

🆘NEEDS PLACEMENT BY MONDAY 12/16🆘

BONNIE #A447311 - This dog is a spayed female. This dog is currently located in CLIND37. This dog weighs approximately 33.0 lbs.,is 7Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to medical.

NEEDS PLACEMENT BY 12/16*

Meet Bonnie! Bonnie has muscle wasting on the head and appears to have difficulty swallowing, a concern of a neurological issue and could benefit from seeing a full service vet. Now, to add to her issues, she was attacked by her kennel mate leaving her with multiple lacerations in her body. Bonnie is a very sweet dog, pairable with dogs of her own size. She just can't be where smaller animals as she has shown signs of prey drive.

Very friendly dog who was adopted but returned after chasing a cat and a small dog. At the shelter has been easy to pair with dogs of her same size but due to history, we don't recommend for her to go to a home with small pets.

Bonnie is very thin and was put on the veterinarian's radar due to scratching her ears and having nasal discharge. Her ears were cleaned and medicated and she was placed on antibiotics but would still benefit from rescue placement due to her overall condition.

Ready to go! Please let us know if you can help BONNIE.

💙 Azul #A535401 has been picked up as a stray 3 times within the last year, he was previously returned to his owner, however this time they chose to surrender him to the shelter. Azul is noted to be high energy and friendly, seeking attention and affection from people. Azul is currently under bite quarantine. He was picked up by animal services after getting into an altercation with a neighbor’s dog and causing minor injuries to the person who separated the dogs. Azul is 2 years old, weighs 61 pounds, is neutered and tested negative for heartworm disease.

💙 Gomez #A557830 is still just a puppy and loves attention from people! Volunteers noted that he loves to cuddle and give kisses. He can sometimes become overstimulated and show puppy-like jumping and mouthing behavior but is able to be redirected. Gomez has been unable to be paired at the shelter and has shown a strong fixation on other dogs during attempted pairings. Gomes is 14 months old, weighs 48 pounds, is neutered and tested negative for heartworm disease. 💙 Hiro #A559735 was surrendered to the shelter three weeks ago because his owner was no longer able to properly care for him. The shelter is seeking rescue placement for him because he is “not able to be safely handled while in the shelter environment.” His interaction notes indicate that he has had moments of allowing handling, but is not leashed trained, frequently attacking the leash, and displays stiff body language, growls, and bears teeth.   Hiro is 6 years old, weighs 26 pounds, is not neutered and has tested positive for heartworm disease. His heartworm treatment is sponsored by the shelter. Shelter link -> https://www.ocnetpets.com/Adopt/AnimalsinShelter.aspx?types=D&animalid=A559735&pagesize=120&r=r

📍Orange County Animal Services recently posted Morticia on their Facebook page and here is what they said about her:

“Hope that there's someone out there who can save her, and give her the life that was stolen from her.

Someone who will not just abandon her when she needs them the most.

A few words on Morticia. She is gentle, energetic, and absolutely beautiful. She can be timid around new people, and takes her time to warm up. She definitely does not seem to enjoy the company of other dogs, at least not here, but that could change with time and proper socialization. Morticia has deep and soulful eyes; one look at her sweet face, and you get the feeling she knows more than most dogs do. There's a deep sadness there. We want to change that.

We want to save her life. But we can't do it without your help. Please, if you have it in your heart to save her, visit our shelter or send us an email. We can provide her medical information.”

📍Additional notes - Morticia (A557331):

Here are her observation notes and medical- Medical- Reason for exam: Recheck hair loss front feet +/- request repeat Provecta (suspect allergies) on 10/20/24 LH notes: Lichenification on dorsal front feet, right worse than left, suspect chronic acral lick, also large mammary mass, firm, in right #4 mammary chain, suspect mammary neoplasia. Findings: R dorsal foot Acral Lick Granuloma ~ 2.5 x 16 cm worse than L dorsal foot. Plan: Post for mammary tumor and ALG, pet has been here 30d. Rescue candidate over adoption possibly, will email leadership

Behavior: ABC 175 and 174 pulled A557331 for assessment. A557331 allowed leashing easily and walked decently on leash. In yard, A557331 was aloof and more-so interested in external stimuli and exploring/sniffing. A557331 would allow full handling by handlers and was loose/wiggly. 175 brought out a spayed female. A557331 greeted other dog at fence-line and both were able to sniff nose-to-nose respectfully for a few moments until they both stiffened and began muzzle punching the fence. 175 brought other dog in. Both dogs were neutral until they went nose-to-nose and then A557331 stiffened and air snapped. A557331 does not seem to be outwardly aggressive (seeking out), but does not do well with face-to-face introduction and should not be paired. Loves being pet but not aggressive over toys or other people. Got excited when other dogs were barking but only out of curiosity. Please let us know if you can help!

‼️3rd POST Meet Morticia! She is friendly with people, but unable to be paired with other animals here. She has a large mammary tumor and chronic acral lick granuloma. Here are her observation notes and medical-Medical- Reason for exam: Recheck hair loss front feet +/- request repeat Provecta (suspect allergies) on 10/20/24 LH notes: Lichenification on dorsal front feet, right worse than left, suspect chronic acral lick, also large mammary mass, firm, in right #4 mammary chain, suspect mammary neoplasia. Findings: R dorsal foot Acral Lick Granuloma ~ 2.5 x 16 cm worse than L dorsal foot. Plan: Post for mammary tumor and ALG, pet has been here 30d. Rescue candidate over adoption possibly, will email leadership‼️Behavior: ABC 175 and 174 pulled A557331 for assessment.

🎴 There is one dog on this week's Last Chance (euthanasia) List at Orange County Animal Services, Orlando, Florida. Boo is Rescue Only and needs a foster and rescue commitment by 6 am Wednesday morning 11/20/24 or she will be euthanized. Please help SHARE Boo.

🩷 BOO #A555690 was picked up as a stray on 9/14. She was attempting to take shelter from the pouring rain under a pillow propped up against a trash compactor and sitting next to a pile of cooked spaghetti ! She did not lift her head or move as the rain pelted against her.

Boo came in very fearful and very emaciated with scars on her head and legs and a part of her upper lip missing. She displayed some resource guarding.

With time, Boo has warmed up to people, allows full handling and is social with people. Per OCAS: Boo is extremely friendly with people and has become a volunteer/staff favorite.

Boo has been single dog in the shelter due to how fearful she can be and has displayed reactivity towards other dogs.

Boo is estimated to be about 2 years old and 36 pounds (she has gained 5 lbs since intake) . She is spayed and tested negative for heartworm disease.
