Sharing a post from Urgent Dogs of Orlando Facebook page:
RODOG #A556055 - This dog is a neutered male. This dog is currently located in WD55. This dog weighs approximately 56.0 lbs., is 10Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to medical.
Meet RoDog (he was formerly Billy Bob, we found out his real name)!
This is a very sweet old man who is great with people but does not do well with other dogs. During a temp assessment last week, it was noted that he has a tumor in his anal region, and he will need to be seen at a full-service veterinary practice (picture of mass available) .
We did find out some more information about him- His name is RoDog. He belonged to a homeless person that one of our volunteers used to help frequently. In 2022 he was hit by a car and had surgery. RoDog we were told wasn't good with other animals and is estimated around 10 years old. Fast forward to now, the owner rehomed him to another homeless person who lost him and he did end up here. He needs placement with a rescue to see a full service vet for him tumor. After a rough few years, we are hoping he can spend his golden years in a comfy home.

🩷 Winnie A556246: female, 3 years old, 21 lbs, spayed and heartworm negative.
🚨 Please help her! Please read her story and HELP, SHARE, OFFER TO FOSTER, PLEDGE - thank you 🙏❤️
🩷 Winnie #A556246 has been in and out of a county shelter several times since her initial impound as a stray in March. Adopted twice she found herself being returned for snipping at strangers, trying to be dominant with other dogs in the home, and being protective over the owner. Her 3rd adoption lasted approx. 3 months until she was surrendered to OCAS on Monday 9/23. Her owner stated that she had "bit 3 people and attacked the female dog in the home" and also noted that she "had shown no aggression towards men, male dogs or children." Winnie was not around cats.
In her short time at OCAS Winnie has been reactive in her kennel, and aloof and selective with handlers.
Winnie is 3 years old and weighs 21 lbs. She is spayed and tested negative for heartworm disease. It is recommended that she be the only dog in future homes.

💙 Hank A550473: male, 3 years old, 63 lbs, neutered and heartworm negative.
🚨 Please help him! Please read his story and HELP, SHARE, OFFER TO FOSTER, PLEDGE - thank you 🙏❤️
💙Hank #A550473 came to the shelter in June. Initially aloof with people he soon started to seek out attention, allowing full handling and leaning in for cuddles.
He is "great with other dogs; playful, gentle and respectful" and has been paired multiple times.
Hank loves to be outside in the play yards and on lake walks. But as time has passed he has found it more difficult to return to his kennel. He would pancake, sometimes treats coaxed him back in and other times he has been carried. Clearly this boy would love a home with a fenced yard and lots of outdoor playtime and long walks.
He was adopted twice. On the first adoption he was immediately rehomed, arriving back at the shelter within days and was stated to be "extremely anxious". On the second adoption he was returned for lunging at the 7 month old baby and the cat. A home with no small children or cats would be best. He may also need time and patience to allow him to acclimate in a new environment, similar to when he first entered the shelter.
Hank is 3 years old and weighs 63 lbs. He is neutered and tested negative for heartworm disease.

*** 4th and FINAL POST, NEEDS PLACEMENT ASAP, MAY NEED FHO SURGERY AT OWN VET -- LYTIC APPEARANCE TO L FEMORAL NECK SUSPECT AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF THE FEMORAL HEAD, CANNOT RULE OUT HEALING NONDISPLACED FRACTURE ***
Meet Nemo!
This fearful puppy came to us as a stray and is in need of some medical assistance. Here are his medical notes:
"08/25/24 18:13 New vet exam for: issue walking on rear left leg. Same as previous other than mild weight bearing lame left hind. Rx Carprofen, request xrays, recheck in 1 week."
"Veterinarian's observations: Moth eaten lytic appearance to L femoral neck suspect avascular necrosis of the femoral head/neck, cannot rule out healing nondisplaced fracture. No other bony abnormalities noted of R hip, stifles, caudal spine. "
Behavioral observations:
ABC 175 went to assess A554403. A554403 was very timid in kennel and had tail tuck, whale eye, and subtle growling. 175 attempted to leash and A554403 allowed it. Once out of the kennel, A554403 gave a low tail wag and loosened up. In yard, A554403 immediately seeked social with 175, jumping in handlers' lap. A554403 allowed full handling and was very social seeking and affectionate. A554403 did seem to be sensitive to ears being touched and would yelp/nip, but seemed to be pain related. Put on vet log. Keeping on Staff Assist until medically cleared/feeling better.
"Reason for note: Xrays left hind, get with Dr about results Findings: Decreased range of motion on L stifle, intermittent crepitus, pain 1/4. Ticks in ear, removed. Gave bravecto. 🆘🆘🆘EUTHANASIA LIST🆘🆘🆘
🚨NEEDS FOSTER IMMEDIATELY SO A RESCUE CAN HELP HER BEFORE 6 AM🚨
📍ORANGE COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES, ORLANDO, FL.
Gracie is the only dog left on the EUTHANASIA LIST (the other 4 received rescue holds). We can’t let her die. Please, please help her 🙏😭
🩷 Gracie #A541285 : female, 5 years old, 60 lbs, spayed and heartworm negative.
Gracie needs a FOSTER & RESCUE before 6 am WEDNESDAY 9/18. Or she will be euthanized 🙏😭
🩷 Gracie #A541285 was surrendered in early February when her owner was evicted from their home. She was noted to be good with men, women, children and dogs but not cats. She was adopted mid April but picked up as a stray about 2 weeks ago. When contacted, the adopter stated that they had rehomed her due to unforeseen circumstances. Gracie was involved in a bite incident which resulted in minor injury when someone went to pet her and she jumped up, scratching the person and biting resulting in a minor puncture. Gracie has displayed reactive behavior toward other dogs while in the shelter environment and will escalate if not monitored and corrected.
Gracie was initially paired successfully with another spayed female when she arrived to OCAS. Subsequent attempts have not been successful. She is noted to be social and to welcome affection from people, and gentle with children her shelter notes.
Gracie is 5 years old and weighs 60 lbs. She is spayed and tested negative for heartworm disease.

🚨URGENT MEDICAL - Deadline Monday 9/16 ❗️
📍Orange County Animal Services, ORLANDO, FL.
Sharing a post from Urgent Dogs of Orlando Facebook page:
Buffy is just 17 months old. She is very friendly, easily leashed and handled and has been paired multiple times. She has a 72 hour deadline for medical reasons.
Please READ her rescue plea below and HELP by SHARING, offering to FOSTER and PLEDGING.
*BUFFY #A555132 - This dog is an unaltered female. This dog is currently located in WD36. This dog weighs approximately 57.0 lbs.,is 1Y 5M This dog is being posted to rescue due to medical.
** NEEDS PLACEMENT WITHIN 72 HOURS (EOD MONDAY 9/16) DUE TO MEDICAL **
Meet Buffy! This beautiful girl was found as a stray and brought to our shelter. She has tested positive for heartworm disease. She is in need of placement with rescue due to her medical. Here are her other medical notes:
"Part: Thorax //Views: Lateral Right DV
Veterinarian's observations: Unable to position for VD due respiratory changes Increased bronchioaveolar pattern Loss detail cardiac silhouette on DV suspect secondary summation Suspect cardiopulmonary changes secondary to advancing Heartworm disease No clinical signs of URI at this time Start on empirical treatment for heartworm disease. Post. Assessment: Tachypenic
Vet exam recheck improvement respiration rate on empirical treatment suspect advancing Heartworm disease in 3 days +/- additional diagnosis/treatment +/- extend deadline rescue outcome
Rx Doxy 100mg 2.5 Tablet twice a day for 30 days"
Our biggest concern is seeing radiographic changes to the heart and lungs being noted and she is at high risk to develop a secondary illness such as URI that with its underlying heartworm disease would make it very challenging to treat in facility. We have started her on empirical Doxycycline for heartworm disease in the meantime with rechecks being scheduled.
Please let us know if you can take this sweet girl!

NEEDS PLACEMENT BY SEPTEMBER 18TH
Meet Tito! Tito was surrendered by a couple who is currently struggling with medical conditions and could not afford vet care for the dog. The owner stated that they acquired the dog 8 years ago from their daughter and thought it was time to surrender Tito for humane euthanasia due to his medical condition and age, but since he is stable, our shelter decided to give Tito a second chance. He was diagnosed with severe chronic skin condition, multiple tumors and a very large testicular tumor and could benefit from rescue placement.
We could possibly neuter Tito at the shelter pending his pre-surgical exam.
