What's a great quote that defines what "performer" means to you?

Who said it? Why does it ring so true?

I make free visuals & animations for performers to use as projections during their shows. I hope they're useful to you!

I make these animations and visuals and give them away FREE to DJs, Bands, Rappers, Producers, Performers, artists etc to use however they want. You can download them cost, copyright, and constraint free, no strings attached. You can project them at your shows, use them for social media visuals, music videos on YouTube, video filler for releasing beats & mixes, playing on screens at after parties, projecting at festivals, collaborating, editing and remixing my work. Literally whatever you want. Lots of the animations are set to popular edm BPMs so they’ll match up to your music. You can even win custom animations to go specifically with your music by winning contests in our community.

I hope they're useful to you or someone you know

I have a concert tomorrow and on friday, wish me luck!

Tomorrow I'll be performing "In bloom" by Nirvana. I have rehersals for my friday concert at 1pm and the actual concert itself is at 8pm. On friday, it'll be the biggest venue I've ever performed in. I'll be drumming "I see red", playing the piano on "Dance monkey" and playing the bass on " So what"(P!NK). Wish me luck! I'm super nervous lol.

Feedback needed for online Stage Fright Course

For performing musicians: I'm part of a small startup creating a new online course based on Dr. David Lee Fish’s book, The Five-Day Stage Fright Solution. We're hoping to get feedback from musicians who have experienced stage fright to see what they would want/expect from a course designed to address it.

We’re looking for 20 people to do a quick 15 minute market-research interview online. If you’re interested in helping, please comment below or PM me. Much appreciated in advance!

If they did it, so can we

Anyone want to form a boyband over bandlab for the laugh, similar to 1D that kinda style. Dont even have to be able to sing that's what autotune is for, we can bring loads of styles together. We can just make really crappy music that would sell if done ryt. See how it plays out, bit of a gap in the market we could exploit

Performing in Queens NY! Looking For Leads!

Hey everybody! My music crew and I are going to be in Queens this weekend and are in the mode of looking for some places to perform some of our music; as well as our Dj if there's any venues in need of a Dj! Any leads would mean a lot for our journey to keep sharing our vibes. Thanks in advance

Getting tired of my own performance

Hey everyone, can you give me your opinion?

I'm a piano man in a local bar and I play 3-4 times a week. I feel that I've played the same songs over and over and I'm beginning to grow tired of my performance. Has anyone gone through this? What did you do?

Asked to perform 3 hours for 3 days (help)

Hello, Not sure how to start this but me and my close friend are musicians and we are being asked to perform for a local event. We are being asked to be open to perform 3 hours in a day. (Not in a row) Meaning one might be in the morning and another at midnight. We are being asked to be open to do this for 3 days. They are asking for a package deal and a discount. We are quite stoked being asked to perfrom since we are still relatively new in the scene. But we are not sure if this is a big ask or if this normal to expect from organisers. We are not sure how much money to ask for since we only ever got paid for one gig before which was €30 for 30 minutes so im not sure how to base how much payment we should ask for.

Any comments and advice is greatly appreciated!

Asking to be paid for a performance

Hello fellow redditors! This is the very first time I’ve ever put anything out on reddit 😅

Anyways. A little info about me. I’m a musician that teaches private voice, piano and guitar lessons. Occasionally I’m asked to perform at various occasions like meetings and parties. Up until now, I’ve never asked to be paid for my performances, but I have a baby now and taking the time to practice and prepare is something I’d like to be at least partially compensated for plus travel and a caretaker for my babe while I perform.

Just last month, I performed at a senior citizens gathering (not an old folks home). I was contacted by another local senior citizens center to see if I might be able to perform.

So here’s my question to you guys: Do you think it would be appropriate to ask for payment? And if I do, how do you think I should ask and how much?

For reference, for a 30 minute performance I probably spend about 5 hours practicing and might spend some money on music, it’s about 3 hours of babysitter time to allow time to travel, set up, etc.

I need advice

I, 17 m, am having troubles deciding what to do with my life. I’m graduating hs this year and losing my mind over what to do. Throughout school I was always a high achiever and was really good at science and math. But I love performing for people, whether it be acting, singing, or playing an instrument, I loved the feeling. My family have told me that I couldn’t be an actor as a kid and my parents want to make sure I get a good job that pays well. I have committed to a university already and am looking into a biology major with a marine emphasis. I’m so lost on what I should do. Do I go to school for a job that pays well and lets me help the planet or risk it and go into the entertainment industry? I know when you start out it’s difficult and can lead to nowhere but I love the feeling of performing for others and the excitement. Please give some honest advice.

Update: Feels like the universe is telling me no. I just dislocated my knee dancing and injured my foot in the fall.
