For sale: Pilot Fermo cartridge/converter, with 18k fine nib <F> and dark blue body.

The Pilot Fermo is a bit of an oddball in Pilot’s Capless line. It uses the same nib unit as the other models, but it is heavier and has a less curvy profile than the Vanishing Point, and instead of a push-button knock, it features a twist mechanism. It accepts the (often reviled) Pilot CON-40 converter, and some of the older less available converters as well (CON-20, CON-B, CON-50?).

It tends to run at a higher price point than the non-special-edition Vanishing Points and Decimos.

The pen, not surprisingly, writes beautifully, giving a fine, wet line with a bit of bounce and a generally smooth feel. The D rating is because there is a chip and significant scratching on the barrel near the end of the clip (captured in the photos).

The pen will ship with a Pilot ink cartridge.

A modern classic.

The pen writes fairly smoothly with a wettish flow. The stiffness of the nib and just a touch of feedback distinguish the writing experience from that of a Pilot.Description of how the pen and nib writes. The body and hardware are in generally good condition, but the nib has some noticeable scratching on it (captured in the photos) which earn it the B- grade and a relatively low price.

I think that buying this pen would be a great way to experience a Sailor gold nib for less than many modern steel-nibbed pens.

• Model 20 Prototype in Creme and Cranberry: I added a pop of color and chatoyance to this elegantly understated colorway by swapping in a Cranberry finial. Body has no visible scratches. Slip-style cap has faint blue staining which may come out with an ultrasonic cleaner. Cap threads holding the finial are worn (which doesn't affect the pen's functioning in any way), so finial has been discreetly secured by snugging the threads. Asking $115.

Sheaffer Valiant Touchdown TM (“thin model”) - F/M.  Verification pics here.  Condition: D for vintage.  14K two-tone Triumph F nib.  Touchdown filler.  Dark green with gold plated trim and a 3/8” cap band with grooves on the edges.  White dot (note: dot has light discoloration).  Clear but worn imprints.  I have installed a new ink sac and new gasket seal; the Touchdown filling system works like new.  Of the 20-ish Triumph nibs I have owned, this is one of the smoothest.  You will see from the close-up nib photo that the left tine looks a little wider than the right tine, but it has zero impact on performance—again, this is  a lovely, smooth writer. The nib size is between my other vintage Sheaffer F nibs and M nibs  $60 $50

Sheaffer Sentinel TM (“thin model”) – EF.  Verification pics here.  Condition: D for vintage.  14K two-tone Triumph EF nib.  Touchdown filler.  Sentinels have a silver cap with a gold band and silver barrel threads.  White dot.  Clear but worn imprints.  Small dent to the right of the clip.  The metal ring between the cap threads and the barrel is a bit misshapen, which you will occasionally notice when screwing/unscrewing the cap.  Purchased restored from Peyton Street Pens.  Subsequently tuned and smoothed by Matthew Chen.  I have installed a new ink sac.  If you like XF nibs, this pen is for you!  Very fine line, yet still smooth.  $75 $55

Pelikan M400 – Two chicks – W. Germany Imprint – B.  Verification pics here.  Condition: D for vintage.  This is a Dallas Pen Show catch(, try,) and release.  B nib with massive tipping.  The cap ring is stamped “W. Germany,” meaning the pen was manufactured between 1982 and 1990.  Smooth writer (of course!), but I have other B nibs that I prefer.  Piston filler works flawlessly.  Tortoiseshell barrel with excellent visibility (see pics).  It occasionally hard starts, but then writes continuously. $175 $135 SALE PENDING

Pen Description: If you show a friend a tray of fountain pens, this will always be one of the first ones they ask about. The Monteverde Super Mega Abalone is blanketed with inlaid natural Abalone, and the resulting irridesence is truly beautiful and one of a kind. The areas with abalone are coated with an almost invisible epoxy resin that makes the pen perfectly round and smooth to the touch. Only 999 of these pens were created, and this is #511. The fine (f) steel #6 size nib is manufactured in Germany by Jowo and is coated in a glossy black finish that, in my opinion, makes the final writing experience extra smooth. It is a consitent writer with minimal feedback for a fine nib. Be warned, it is a substantial and heavy pen. You probably already know if you love this kind of pen or not- it's about the size of a Jihao x159! An awesome show pen reguardless that will stand out even among the most expensive fountain pen brands.

Condition: A2 , inked only once. As close to new as it gets without coming straight from the factory.
