It doesn’t say anything about peanuts on the nutritional stuff doesn’t even say may contain but I don’t buy it.
Refreshing this post but I'm doing an oral challenge soon for almonds but does anyone know of any peanut-free/safe options in the UK? Thanks!
Hey yall! I'm reaching out to my peanut allergy folks. I do not have an allergy or know anybody close to me that does, so I'm coming to you for help!
I'm making a separate bucket for peanut free treats, what can I put in here thats safe for kiddos??
Hi all! So lately i’ve been seeing Murumuru butter /oil in a lot of cosmetic products…for example Summer Fridays lip balms and laneige lip balms etc.
I really want to use them, but i looked up Murumuru butter online and it says it’s a palm tree seed/nut. i do eat coconuts and i don’t have a problem…
i was wondering if anyone uses products with this ingredient in it because i really want to try it.
i’m allergic to peanuts and treenuts, but not coconut.
if you used these let me know!! i really want to try them along with other products, but im kinda nervous.
I live in northern Va. can anyone tell me some good places to eat at? I go to chipotle and Jersey mikes but I want some more options. Fyi I am allergic to nuts (walnut), peanuts and shelfish!
Has anyone tired the difference baker in Ashburn va/fairfax va
Hey I have a peanut allergy, diagnosed at age 17, now at age 30.
I see a few people here mentioning their "allergists". I've never had one.
My question is, is it common to be able to get this on the NHS for severe allergies? I have a lot of anxiety and I'd like to get regular retests etc.
Thanks !
I (F, 30) have anaphylaxis with peanuts but haven't had a reaction since aged 17. Anyone here ever grown out of a severe allergy?
As far as I understand it, you can't... but looking for hope. 🥹
My 2 YO has a diagnosed peanut allergy after ingesting when he was younger. Confirmed with skin and blood work over past two years. We did a skin test for green peas this year and he was negative. He eats veggie burgers, with peas, weekly and never had an issue. This week he had “sweet peas” from a can and immediately after eating a few developed swollen blistery lips. No other symptoms and Benadryl helped in a very quick time.
Any insight or suggestions for those dealing with peanut and peas? Do I need to worry about all legumes at this point? We have a appt in two weeks so I will do updated testing and / or food challenges if needed. This just is going to add to the already stressful peanut allergy that I thought was isolated.
Any particular foods to avoid now if peas are an allergy? Peanuts have been stressful to avoid but we rely heavily on labels and our fav restaurants typically don’t carry peanuts at all.
First, as a peanut allergy parent, I hate it. I’m grateful peanuts is all we’re working with but oooof.
My 4.5 year old is allergic to peanuts (and cod fish). He’s of an age now where he’s super aware of it. Asks the parents at birthday parties to check, confirms snacks with his teacher, etc. Moved himself to a different lunch table when he saw someone packed fish sticks (apparently hilariously fast lol).
He was SO SAD at his preschool trunk or treat this weekend. Most of the cars even very kindly had little toys/stickers/stamps/etc for the allergy kids. But he’d walk up to a candy bowl, pick up nothing, and come back to say “I don’t think I can have anything”. I have backup candy I trade out if he can’t eat something. I try not to make it a huge deal.
What are parents doing to keep this fun? Tbh, I’m an introvert and hate Halloween but it’s huge at preschool and in our neighborhood. It’s not really avoidable.
ETA: thanks everyone for the suggestions! I spent some time showing him all the fun candy I could trade out for the “yucky peanuts” this afternoon and I think that’s going to help. He seemed way more excited to trick or treat. I’d been saying he could trade, but I think/hope seeing it helped
Yesterday I ate a couple bites/spoons of cereal that contained 5% chopped peanuts. I felt my mouth was itchy so I checked and saw it had peanuts in it. I'm 15 and the last time I ate/reacted to peanuts was when I was a very young baby. My mother says I touched a sandwich to my lips that she cut with a knife that had some peanut on it somehow, even though it was clean, I was immediately red and puffy, and she rushed me to hospital. Thats how we found out i had the allergy.
During that time I've never had a scare like this, and my mother's done a great job of keeping me safe. Well after seeing it had peanuts I freaked out. And washed my mouth out and brushed my teeth. I was freaking out a lot, and started to feel my throat a bit itchy. I was really scared.
My parents got me a drink but didn't think I was going into anaphylaxis, and didn't administer my EpiPen. Then until now my throats felt slightly closed and I keep freaking out thinking I could be having a delayed reaction or if I'm dying.
I was just wondering if I'm okay or if I should try to go to the doctor. Although I think it's just my mind freaking me out, or my throats just irritated.
A) pay to replace it even though you just got these in January 2024 B) keep it around until the solution is discolored C) ignore the expiration date completely
It never used to be this way, but recently I’ve noticed when I eat chickpeas I develop hives / a rash. Did anyone else with a peanut allergy develop a chickpea allergy later on?
Hi guys, I'm doing some research for an App I am currently developing to make it easier for people with specific dietary requirements to find safe restaurants to eat in.
As someone that suffers with food intolerance I know first hand how difficult it can be to find somewhere that is safe to eat without it being a big fuss or time consuming. This the reason why I am developing an app essentially to make all our lives easier!
If you wouldn't mind filling out a survey, it only takes a couple of minutes and would are greatly appreciated, please leave a comment below and I will send it over to you.
Thanks guys/girls!
My husband looked me dead in the eyes and giggled and asked if I wanted a peanut butter and benedryl shake! I just about died laughing 😂 all because I asked for one of his churros
Super random but does anyone have any safe pickle brand and hot sauce brand recommendations?
hey folks! i posted a while ago, i’m a canadian heading to the states for the first time… i was wondering if mcdonald’s is safe down there? i’m more concerned about breakfast than anything, and the internet seems to be fine but it seems i trust yall more 🤪
also want other safe fast food recommendations!
TIA!
Does anyone know if Ciroc vodka and 1800 tequila are safe to drink with a nut allergy?
What are some 100 percent safe places I can eat out or get take out from? As well as some places to avoid
I understand the gist of it. The commitment, the purpose…. However, I am very confused.
What does it mean that it’s FDA approved 4-17? Is it covered by insuance? Are there different treatments within OIT? I’ve heard of Palforzia but is that just one option?
I am just clueless and am very interested in starting this soon. My son is 2, peanut only, but I’m not sure if he’s too young or his levels are too high. Any insight would be helpful please!
Our 1 year old has had lots of little peanut butter snacks, bites of sandwiches etc. But she's 18 months now and suddenly reacted to having a sandwich what seems like out of the blue. Is that pretty common? Anyone experience this themselves? Thanks
Hello everyone. Last week my son (2 years old) had a severe reaction while in the hospital for something unrelated and required an epipen and other medications. How the hospital served him something despite his allergies on file is beyond me and besides the point.
He has recovered physically but today I noticed him breaking out in mild hives over being in a room where peanut butter is on a plate. I’m 100% certain he didn’t touch or consume. Normally he is not that sensitive. Is it normal for allergies to worsen after a severe reaction?
Thank you!
can’t say this for sure because I’ve been having so many stomach issues lately but I think it gives me a stomachache. could this be allergy related or a separate intolerance? I’m only allergic to peanuts.
I overheard some people on the bus talking about No Nuts November. It's really cool people are trying to give it up to help awareness for people with nut allergies. I didn't think it was a thing!
Hello!! Curious question. Has anyone here with a peanut allergy taken amitriptyline safely?
My doctors keep pushing it on me but it comes up with a peanut warning. I've never had peanuts, but I carry an epipen, they say it's probably an anaphylactic reaction but who knows...curious if anyone has experience with this medication!
It's kind weird I was eating some baked chicken with this seasoning I was trying. It was free of allergens supposedly but as I was eating I noticed the feeling of a lump near my gums. Turns out my Labial Muscosa was swelling and I had to take Benadryl. Ive had hives and had to use the epi pen but I never had this happen.
Hi! I’d like to hear some first hand experience from parents who have done or are doing OIT with their child under two years old. My daughter is almost 14 months and her allergist presented OIT to us as an option. This would be for her peanut allergy. She has no other food allergies, but did suffer from idiopathic urticaria (random hives) for a few months until we got it under control with 6 weeks of daily Zyrtec.
She had one anaphylactic reaction at 9 months old where she had to have EPI.
We would be doing OIT with the Bamba peanut butter puffs.
Who has done this? Tell me the pros and cons. Ups and downs. I’m just really nervous with the fact that she can’t communicate if she’s feeling any inward symptoms.
Hi! I am wondering if there are any recommendations for baby pouches that are nut and dairy free? We will be traveling with my 8 month old and it would be nice to have something for on the go. I’m not opposed to making my own but something with some shelf life would be great for traveling.
Feeling so frustrated, everything has Reese’s peanut butter cups in it these days. Then finding one without Reese’s but it’s got peanut m&m instead. 😤 Does anyone know of a brand or a chain (in the U.S.) that carries assorted fun size candy without peanuts?
At work we are trying out a new Danish. The little blurb says it has a nutty flavor. But it also states allergen free for nuts and tree nuts.
I might be over thinking this but I've never ran into this situation before, sorry if it really is too silly.
The term "nutty flavor" is just a way to reference a taste, right?
I've added the picture of the ingredients / what the label says so.
