It’s not the very best sushi in Pasadena, but it’s what my kids like, so we order carry out almost every Friday. This has been ongoing for a couple of years. 2 weeks ago, I placed an order through their website. Got there, and they were closed. They posted a sign on the door that said “open again on December 1st”. I was surprised because there was no message on the website. I called and the number was permanently busy. So I waited until today to call, hoping to get my order. No worries. But the line is totally out of service now. I drove over there and it was locked up, no more sign on the door. Anyone hear anything? I want my sushi or my $120 back.
My daughter who just came from Korea on 11/29/24 will join kindergarten at Norma Coombs Elementary School.
I will go with her tomorrow to the admission office and get to know about school but is there anything I should prepare for her like backpack, lunch and etc?
Hi all, does anyone know of any kind of free language exchanges in or near Pasadena? I am looking to improve/practice my Mandarin and wondering if something like this exists where you meet up with people and practice speaking.

Hi all! Just moved to the area and looking for suggestions for holiday markets. Thinking cute little crafts and jewelry. Some place to do all my Christmas shopping :)
My mother had a spinal cord surgery a few months ago and we’re looking for a mobile acupuncture service, possibly one who specializes in stroke/ neurological recovery. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!
My uncle is heading back home tonight and we have some time to kill before we drop him off at Burbank airport around 6pm. What can we do around town today worth checking out ?
Need materials for a collage I'm working on, and Vroman's isn't meeting my needs this time
I just moved here. I work an office job which can get a bit unexciting at times so I' ve found that I function better when I do some kind of high adrenaline activity.
For example where I was before I would do kitesurfing in the weekends to get my fix. I'm looking for some high adrenaline activity that is not crazy expensive that I can do around Pasadena in the weekends.
What are some cute stores with fun things for a 13 year old girl. I’d like to get my niece something she can’t get at the mall. So handcrafted, unique gifts would be nice. Pasadena and the surrounding area.
For anyone who has the Neighbors app through Ring there's some pretty funny hysteria going on right now. For years these people have been freaked out by any firework, reporting them as explosions or mysterious booms. Even when they see the flash of light they convince themselves it's something sinister. They even started putting "This was not a firework" at the end of posts trying to convince others.
The last two days someone has been setting off fireworks every once in a while in different parts of the area. As you can guess people are freaking out about it. Someone in one comment said they saw kids in hoodies running around so of course people think those things are related. People keep making new posts trying to explain why it's not fireworks and getting mad that people keep saying it's fireworks. They straight up ignore the people who saw the actual firework. I've never seen so many posts about the booms at once.
Anyway it's a good bit of fun watching the hysterical people if you have the app.
Just heard what sounded like two shogun blasts. 1:18am Saturday.
The website says it’s open through November, but before I drive up there does anyone have a source I can find to know for sure. I guess I can call tomorrow, but it would be nice to know tonight so I can make other plans if it’s closed.
We’re looking to add a detached garage on our property. Does anyone have an engineer they’d recommend for a small project of this size? Looking to self build but we would need an engineer to approve for permitting. Thanks!
Hi there! Looking for some fun activities to do in the Pasadena area to celebrate a few family member’s birthdays. Any suggestions? All adults. No bars/nightlife.
Lots of ceramic artists selling their work. Usually a good time.
Where can I find one tomorrow for lunch?
Any recommendations on where to buy a live tree this year?

I have a 1 bed / 1 bath apartment and looking for some professional cleaners to come maybe once a month or so. Any recs?
Can anyone recommend a few bars that will be open tomorrow night that aren't too sketchy? I’ll be dropping off my kid at 5 p.m. (life of a divorced parent with shared custody) and want to spend the evening with friends locally. I'll be with my kid and family earlier in the day, but I’d love some ideas for places to go in the evening. Thanks!
Hi! I’m looking to do some apartment improvements - move around furniture and get some new, new decor, and upgrade the basement floor from concrete to some other type of floor that’s more livable. Does anyone have any interior designer recs around pas that you recommend ? Hopefully for a low- or mid-size budget? Happy thanksgiving!
The closest I can think of is Earl of Sandwich. Any recs for something closer?
