There are two main type types of receipt apps. Apps that make money by selling your data and apps that are true coupon apps that get paid by manufacturers. This list focuses
Ibotta
Ibotta is the largest receipt coupon app available in the US and it is really easy to use. They have store specific coupons and coupons that can be used at any merchant. They have the most number of coupons of any app that I have come across. Most coupons are for buying a specific product, but some pay you for buying any brand of product in a category after watching an advertising video. There are also bonuses that you can unlock for completing multiple bonuses during a set time period.
Ibotta links to some grocery store reward accounts like Sprouts and automatically imports the data for in-store and pickup orders. Other stores like Kroger do not allow you to link your rewards account and click-and-collect orders cannot be redeemed since Ibotta requires hardcopy receipts and does not allow screenshots or downloaded receipts.
Stacking with Ibotta Coupon Receipt App
You can use my referral link to get a $10 sign-up bonus with your first scanned receipt when you use code fgwmfbw while signing up. https://ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=FGWMFBW
Fetch
Fetch is a gamified coupon app. They have a good number of manufacturer coupons. It also appears that if you answer surveys about yourself they give you a gamified bonus each day you submit receipts. Fetch allows you to submit paper receipts and it also allows you to submit electronic receipts. You can link your online account to many stores and you can also give access to your email and it will scan your email.
Stacking with Fetch Coupon Receipt App
Fetch is the "second best" receipt app in my opinion. They have a wide range of common manufactures and it is very easy to use. The payouts tend to be a little less than Ibotta, but they stack so you can use both of them
Use my Fetch referral discount https://fetchrewards.onelink.me/vvv3/referraltext?code=31AX1T to get 1,000 bonus points when you sign up. Enter the code 31AX1T when signing up.
Shopium
Shopium used to be the receipt portion of Coupon.com, but they sold the website to a third party, but kept the receipt scanning portion, and rebranded. They have a good number of coupons, but a real issue is that the terms say that you cannot stack coupons. That means if you use a paper coupon or electronic one, it normally will not stack. You can still use other apps like Fetch and Ibotta.
Stacking with Shopium Coupon Receipt App
Amazon Alexa
The Amazon Alexa app has a receipt portion where you can upload third-party receipts and get Amazon gift cards instantly. They use the same backend as Shopium and no longer stack. I prefer Shopium since it is easier to use.
Stacking with Amazon Alexa
Tada
Tada is a good coupon app, but it is a lot easier to use for electronic receipts since it automatically selects the products that qualify. They have branded manufacturer coupons, but also offer random coupons for a couple of sense for common products like produce and meat.
Stacking with Tade Coupon Receipt App
Swagbucks
Swagbucks is much more than just a receipt app. It has a shopping portal, rewards for trying games, and many more ways to collect points. Swagbucks calls their coupon portion, Magic Coupons, you can search on the app if you can not find it. There is a tab on the browser to use it.
Swagbucks and Tada use the same backend for their coupons and they cannot be combined. I find that they allow more online receipts than Tada, including Amazon, but redeeming receipts is a touch more difficult on Swagbucks since Tada auto selects your earnings on online receipts, but it has to be done manually with Swagbucks.
Here is my referral code where you earn 3,000 bonus points. Since Swagbucks payout amount is so low it can be easier to cashout than Tada. https://www.swagbucks.com/p/register?rb=67600946
Stacking with Swagbucks Coupon Receipt App
Checkout 51
I have to admit that in ~2 years of having the Checkout 51 app on my phone I have not come across a coupon that I wanted to use. I think the payouts are instant, but the selection of coupons is rather small, but it is a unique subset and not part of another app so stacking is possible.

Box Tops
The old school cut out the logo on General Mill's boxes and send them to your school for them to get cash has been canceled and it has been replaced by a digital app. This is a way for your school district to get cash for the General Mills purchases that you make. You don't get cash from adding Box Tops into your stacking routine, but your school does.

If you use my referral https://btfe.smart.link/c2jjdifkw?referral_code=CSWF1P9P we both get 20 box tops
I will work on adding more of the apps that focus on your data and not actual manufacturer coupons later, but these are the apps that pay a good amount of money. I typically get a few hundred dollars a year using them.
We all know about Southwest Airlines. They do things differently than most US airlines.
They offer two free checked bags per person. They do not have traditional seat assignments but board by position and you choose your seat when you board. There are three boarding groups and families with kiddos 6 and under get to board between groups A and B. If the flight is not sold out and you have a lap infant they allow you to bring your car seat on the plane for free.
Chase Bank is Southwest’s credit card partner. They typically offer points as bonuses for getting Southwest credit cards, but they currently are offering a promo where you get 30,000 points and a Companion Pass. Southwest points are worth a fixed value of ~$0.012 each for a value of $360. The real value is in the Companion Pass.
Southwest Companion Pass
The Companion Pass allows the holder (the holder cannot change) to bring a named guest for free on all of their flights (just pay taxes, normally ~$5.60 per flight). The flights can be paid for with points, cash, or gift cards it does not matter. If you plan on traveling a couple of times this is worth serious money.
Chase Southwest Credit Cards
Chase currently offers 3 personal credit credits, Plus ($69), Premier ($99), and Priority ($149).
They all require $4000 of spend in 3 months after approval and you get 30,000 miles and a Companion Pass valid through 2/28/25. They also come with other family friendly benefits.
This current offer is a great one to make family travel more affordable during this next year.
(I currently have the Southwest Companion Pass and I do get miles if you sign-up via my link, https://www.referyourchasecard.com/226f/BQJWVQTL9M)
PishPoshBaby is having an amazing sale on UPPAbaby Vista V2 and UPPAbaby Cruz V2 strollers in the color scheme Gwen (Green Melange/Carbon/Saddle Leather). PishPoshBaby has an amazing loyalty program where you get 20% to 24% back in store credit, even on sale items.
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 stroller is on sale for $749.99 and you will get 7500 points which can be redeemed for $150 in store credit.
The UPPAbaby Cruz V2 stroller is on sale for $524.99 and you will get 5250 points which can be redeemed for $100 in store credit.
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is the stroller that I use and it is an amazing stroller. It can be converted to hold 2 kids and it rarely goes on sale and is price controlled by UPPAbaby.
If you use my referral you get $10 off your first order of $30+. You can combine this with the sale price to save even more.
Most shopping portals do not list PishPosh Baby Extrabux does list PishPosh Baby as an additional 5% in rewards. I have had mixed success in having Extrabux track with PishPosh Baby. My referral code for Extrabux gives the user $20 and I get $5. Keep in mind that I have had mixed success with getting the 5% rewards from Extrabux, but I am mentioning it since on $1000 stroller, 5% is a lot of diapers.
The Bugaboo Bee6 is a great compact folding stroller. The Bee6 is not as big and burly as the massive Uppababy Vista, but that is not what it is trying to be. The Bugaboo Bee6 is a compact stroller that is great for the city and traveling. It is very easy to collapse it on the go, and folds to a compact size. It is not cheap, and sometimes it is hard to get it on sale with a $779 list price.
Currently, it is $623 at PishPosh Baby. You can use a referral code ( enter LL-DICR5N6A under coupons) to get an additional $10 off, making it $613 (PishPosh Baby does not charge tax in most states). You then get 20% to 24% back in rewards points for store credit.
Final price: $613 and $120 in store credit. A great deal for a stroller rarely on sale.
PishPosh Baby is in my opinion the absolute best place to buy strollers and other baby gear. Many high-end baby gear manufactors have imposed a price minimum on their items and do not allow coupons to be used on their gear.
Some retailers like PishPosh Baby get around this by creating an internal rewards program. PishPosh Baby has Posh Points which give you 20% to 24% back in rewards. You can then can redeem your rewards for coupons in $10, $30, $50, $100, $150, and so on increments. These can be used like cash to save money on future purchases. One thing to note is that if after you use your rewards points your total is less than $75, there is a $6.95 charge for shipping.
If you use my referral you get $10 off your first order (I get 1,000 points) of $30+.
Most shopping portals do not list PishPosh Baby Extrabux does list PishPosh Baby as an additional 5% in rewards. I have had mixed success in having Extrabux track with PishPosh Baby. My referral code for Extrabux gives the user $20 and I get $5. Shopping Portals, Cashback, Receipt Scanner (Ways to get money back that you spent)
Read this article (too much information to include it here) that I wrote on what card-linked, cashback, and shopping portals can be stacked together based on the backend network they run on.
Cashbackmonitor.com is a site that compares how what different shopping portals are offering a particular website. I use this to decide what portal to use. Airline shopping portals often have periods where they offered a signup bonus and a bonus for downloading the browser extension.
TopCashBack: shopping portal that gives 100% of the cashback back and makes their money through companies' advertising. There are a few more complaints about tracking issues than other portals. I use this one frequently.
Rakuten: shopping portal that you can link to American Express and receive Membership Rewards (MR) points instead of cash.
Extrabux: shopping portal that also offers chance of daily bonuses gains
ActiveJunky: shopping portal that often has a higher cashback rate for outdoor/sports sites
BeFrugal: shopping portal that sometimes has sites others do not
Swagbucks: A combination shopping portal, receipt scanner, and targeted offer site. Sometimes offers shopping portal rebates on things that traditional ones do not.
Fetch: Product-focused receipt scanner, you do not need to select items. Does take online receipts.
Ibotta: The best product-focused receipt scanner, need to select products/clip coupons. Often able to stack with other coupons. Does not allow many online receipts.
ReceiptHog: Receipt scanner that is more in the data collection business
Google Pay: has card linked program that does not require purchasing through the app. Does have some that require to click-through link. Uses Rakuten as a backend so you cannot stack with Rakuten, but you can stack with other shopping portals.
Payce: card-linked cashback program
Baby and Children
Many "high-end" (I hate that term) baby manufacturers have a minimum price that must be charged for their items and do not allow coupons. A few retailers get around that by offering reward programs that provide a percentage of cashback as credit. These sometimes can be stacked with shopping portals.
Dyper: diapers
Good Buy Gear: Get $25 off a $50 purchase of used baby gear.
Pampers: Referral Code A43D716
Subscription Boxes
Beauty Boxes: Allure, FabFitFun, SinglesSwag
Kids Boxes: KiwiCo
Individual Shopping Websites

Athletic Brewing: Non-alcoholic beer
Indochino: $25 off custom suites
Peet’s Coffee: $10 off Peet's coffee
Puracy: green cleaning supplies. Get $10 and combine with coupon code NEWBIE (you can use two) and you get $10 off $20 and free shipping.
SidelineSwap: $5 off used sporting gear
SurfShark VPN: This was my go-to VPN in New Zealand
Tumbl: Washable rugs. I had an issue with a rug 3 years into ownership and they sent me a new one even though outside of warranty.
Crypto
Crypto is not for everyone. These links include crypto exchanges and apps that give rewards in crypto.
Exchanges: Binance, Coinbase, Crypto.com Exchange, Gemini, KuCoin
Koinly: Crypto tax software (really useful and links a lot of defi)
