I am a very casual dresser day-to-day, but I am the plus one to my husband's first holiday staff party in a neighbouring major city. The theme is Las Vegas (??) and we weren't provided any further information or dress code beyond that. I took the theme to mean cocktail attire and want to make a good impression, but anything in the cocktail attire world is out of my normal comfort zone so I'm feeling quite lost on how to accessorize this dress.
I ended up buying this dress because it was shockingly comfortable and actually felt like it was flattering as I rarely wear dresses or form fitting clothing of any kind. My only concerns are showing too much of my chest and clavicles and potentially being over dressed for the occasion? I was thinking I could thrift a stole or buy a shawl to cover up a bit more. My biggest questions are:
My husband works for an advertising agency if that's at all relevant and will be wearing a black suit with cowboy boots and bolo tie.
Apologies for the wall of text, and thanks in advance for any guidance!
Out shopping for my birthday gifts 🎉🎉
It was so hard to get everything in one pic with decent lighting so enjoy this weirdness
Hair’s a mess, but I got there on time!
Just wanted to share my Thanksgiving outfit, did I do something right? Something I should change/improve in the future? Any advice welcome.
