Planning on wearing this dress with wool tights and coat for a formal gala event. Event rules state “no open-toe footwear allowed”. 
What kind of footwear should I go for? 
Tried some ballet flats which look fine, but not great. Thinking of doing something NOT black in footwear. Suggestions please?

I love this vest and it's so cozy, but it also drapes over my shoulders and I worry that makes them look broader. I also have to tuck it in because it's rather long and looks frumpy otherwise, but I think the jeans I'm wearing may be too high-waisted for that.

Fall Round Up Recents 

I have a wedding to attend this weekend and I don’t know what to wear over my outfit.

The wedding will start late afternoon and it will be chilly (plus very windy). 

This coat is the only one that I have and it’s pretty warm so that’s a plus. It also has a sort of a “hippie” style that I believe would match with my pants (I took pictures for you to see I’m wearing pants and not a skirt). 

Does it look good?? If not, what do you suggest I wear instead??

Also, would I fit into “cocktail/formal attire)? That’s the dress code. I have no idea as I can’t remember the last time I even went out to a dance club or such.
