Hey all, just wondering if there are any other fans browsing this sub during the off season?
Oh, and the sidebar needs updating, Hal retired and Sebastien Boucher is now the manager
I hate the fact that we have 6 Canadian professional baseball teams that are scattered in 4 leagues... I understand it would cost money to have an all Canadian league but we can do something about a Canadian Baseball Championship Tournament.
This is how the tournament will work.
*Teams will be chosen randomly to go against each other*
Round 1 -Knockout Round: Best 2 of 3 series: *Since Toronto is MLB and Quebec Capitales has the most titles out of the remaining team, they automatically clinch the Semi Finals BUT Champion (or Finalist if loose to Toronto) will be the team instead to clinch for the semi final spot terminating the most titles clinch rule.
Ottawa Champions vs Trios-Riveires Aigles
Vancouver Canadians vs Winnipeg Golden Eyes
Round 2-Semi Finals:Best of 3 Series: *Winning Teams advance to Canadian Semi Final*
Toronto Blue Jays vs Vancouver Canadians
Ottawa Champions vs Quebec Capitales
Round 3- Final Championship:Single Knockout: *This round will only have 1 game played, the team with the most scores will host the Championship at their home venue*
Ottawa Champions vs Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto wins!
Even though Toronto wins, Ottawa will still advance to next years championship Semi Final along with Toronto.
It will look like Toronto might dominate this tournament for a few years but trust met the attention, the media, the fans across all 4 leagues , and especially Canadians will have another reason to participate and tune back in to the sport of baseball and eventually the teams will get a lot better with more passionate people playing and representing for the city.
I would love to see Montreal Expos, Edmonton Capitals/Trappers, Calgary Vipers/Cannons, And Victoria Seals to come back. It would be an unbelievable geographical Rivalry warfare.
For the Canadian Semi Pro/Collegiate Teams, They can have a 2 single knockout tournament separating West and East Canada, winner of each will face each other in a best of 3 series. Let me know if you want to hear about this.
Amazing performance from Austin Chrismon for the complete game win! Congrats Ottawa!!
Great job guys! I watched game 4 online and they looked solid! Maybe they can earn their nickname!
Never caught a ball at a professional game before, and was wondering where is best to catch a foul ball at RCGT Park! It seems to be in the upper section behind home plate on the first bass side.
Any thoughts on this?
