Hello! I am re-organizing my wardrobe as I realize I like to see the clothes (hanging) instead of leaving them in my drawers. That being said, I'm having difficulty trying to hang "off the shoulder" tops and dresses. Does anyone have any advice on how someone can hang these things? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
I'm working on revamping my closet. I have a bunch of old, bulky hangers from ages ago. There must be something better. When I've searched I've been overwhelmed with the options. I'm mostly hanging shirts, sweaters, and dresses.
right now my dresses are in a ROYGBIV order, bookended by white and black on either end. theyre on two large racks but theyre tight so im adding a third rack to make breathing room.
rainbow / ROYGBIV is my preference, but ultimately isn’t well suited to the volume of dresses i have, as-is, and helping me remember what i have.
disclaimer: im a clothes horse and i travel several months out of the year so my style is very eclectic. i havent counted my dresses in a while, but i had over 300 at one point, and i gave away somewhere north of 75 last year. i still have a shitton.
im also neurodivergent and my life is better when i have clothes and fabrics that match my mood. so yes, theres a lot here, but a reduction isnt the point for now - just a rearrangement. :)
so, uh, anyways…
what’s the best move for organizing this many dresses? It seems like my two obvious options are length and/or occasion, but maybe there is something else i should be thinking of?
Need idea of something that could fit in a corner, neatly hang clothes, bonus points if hides linens
Trying to clean up my bedroom but I never have enough dresser/ closet space. I currently don’t have a linen closet so I’ve just been keeping extra towels in a dresser drawer. The current spot for the “not quite dirty enough to wash/ can still wear again” clothes is (sometimes) folded on top of the dresser.
I’d love any ideas on options for ways that I could have a neat spot to hang wear-again clothes (that’s not my closet where all the clean clothes are). Bonus points if it could also store my sheets and towels in some sort of cabinet or something. I’d like to be able to use the dresser drawers, so I’d rather not keep them in the dresser 😅
Currently I have a weird cheap coat rack for hanging a few things (jackets/ sweatshirts) but it looks so messy 😓 Any ideas are appreciated! Would especially love thoughts on places to put wear-again clothing items (other than laundry basket lol)
Hi all! I am a busy mom and am looking for a comprehensive home-organizing program. I am a big fan of the Organizing 365 podcast, but I cannot afford the 2-3k cost of that organizing system on a teacher's salary. I reached out to the organization to inquire about times of the year I could find the program course on a significant sale, but the response, while polite, was that they only offer minimal discounts at times, or that I could purchase the program piece by piece (which would cost more overall).
Does anyone have a similar but alternate and affordable home-organizing program to recommend? Thank you in advance!
I'm trying to figure out how to set up an organized and functional workspace but it's in my bedroom with limited space. I currently have a small cube cubby but is not ideal. I definitely need more storage. I have a budget of around $250. tops. I'm super unorganized in general and right now I have boxes and piles all around my room. I have a drafting table (also not my favorite) and a very small folding table. I just really need things accessible. I'm a student and just starting to get into collage and want to try Gelli prints. I mainly do watercolor but I'm exploring acrylic, so mixed media which can take up quite a lot of space, if that helps you visualize it. I've only found posts for a whole room not a bedroom/studio. Any products, tips and suggestions are very much appreciated!!!
Susan Pinsky organizing solutions for people with adhd. About half way through and found a lot of helpful tips for getting better organized.
I’ve been organizing my clothes (mostly t-shirts) in the order of when they are washed. All freshly laundered clothes will hang on the left side, while I only take clothes from the right side to wear. The clothes will gradually move from left to right over time like an assembly line. The same method applies to any other types of clothing, such as socks and underwear stacked in a drawer, moving from top to bottom of the stack.
Pros: All my clothes have the same wearing and washing frequency to prevent excessive wear and tear. I don’t end up wearing the same clothes too frequently.
Cons: I don’t have a choice in color and style since I have to pick the right most shirt to wear, but I sometimes cheat by picking the next 1-2 shirts over if I don’t like the particular shirt that turns up, but this was always done in anxiety.
Does anybody practice this type of organizing clothes in your wardrobe, or I’m just being strange?
Hey I’m a 20f and I’m trying to figure out adulting. My parents don’t think I’m ready to live on my own bc I have depression, anxiety , and ADHD and have spiraled out of control many times before. Doing laundry, folding laundry, and putting away laundry is the bane of my existence. I have a few large piles of clothes in my room and just have no motivation or energy to do it. How do I make it fun or at least less sucky?
For context, I'm organizing/decluttering/cleaning my room right now, and my mom said that I need to stop because the way I'm doing is "ass backwards". Here's what I'm doing:
Rinse and repeat steps 2 and 3, until the bin is either empty or until I'm content with keeping what's left in the bin.
So I have like 6k photos spread across google photos and my laptop. I dont want to delete ANY because i have DID and photos are an important way i can stay integrated with my memories.
i would like to put them all on google photos AND a physical drive and organize them though. but, i fear LOTS of them are duplicates and i dont want to deal with that. also many on my laptop are organized into files and i dont wanna have to redo all that. what should i do?
Hello!
TLDR; Want tool for easy storage/retreval of multi-dimensional data. Looking to organize & access sounds for music production. Example case: Storing sounds by intensity, tone, width… so I can easily imagine a sound and try to pull it up
I want to find a tool to easily store a retrieve data in multiple dimensions. I want multiple sliders / data inputs so I can easily find what I want. If this data was visualized so I can view neighboring pieces of data to compare this would be even better.
I want this to primarily help me sort my sounds for music production, however, I could use this everywhere. I want to sort sounds by intensity, tone, width, texture… my music by emotion, intensity, articulation…
As of right now my ideas are Excel, google sheets, or coding multi-dimensional arrays (I’m a CS student).
If this is the wrong sub, please point me to the right one!
Thank you!!! <3
At work, we use a dozen filing crates with probably 40-50 folders in each crate to store miscellaneous gaskets and seals. The packages are mostly super thin, so the idea makes great sense. My problem with the setup is that the ends of the folders are constantly falling off the "rail". The setup still works; its just a peeve of mine to constantly fix them. Is there a good way to keep them from falling off?
First thing to come to mind would be something like a bar set just high enough to allow the hooks to slide, but not high enough to allow them to pop up and out.
Maybe a hollow rail designed so the hooks for the folders are inserted into the end?
My big caveat to the situation is that I'm only really willing to spend so much on "fixing" the issue since I'd be spending my own money to make the company's setup better.
She has a lot of clothes, tshirts, pants, skirts, dresses and misc things I don't even know the names of. The problem is that it is a very small room with very little storage space, one small wardrobe. I have set her up with some boxes for cold weather clothing but that is about it.
help me with setting up a mainatainable system for her please.
