Ok so I feel like the news is an apparatus of the
WG, especially pre-TS. This is because Morgans is willing to bend the facts and state outright falsifications in Enies Lobby and Marineford and put that in the paper as we’ve seen, but when Wano and Zou come around, he’s suddenly able to have journalistic integrity. Why is this? Is it because the return of Joyboy is such a hot press issue? He was able to commit to journalistic integrity before Joyboy came, though. I’m not exactly criticizing him, but I do want to know why he does this.

I'm not up to date with this sub, so I apologize if this theory or something similar has already been discussed. This is my first post, but I just had to share. I would love to hear what you guys think.

• According to Vegapunk, Devil Fruits are manifestations of someone's desires—"if only I could be like this...," etc.
• The D Clan is known for their strong will and desire for freedom.

So, what if the D Clan was an ancient race of people that had such a strong will that they just WILLED Devil Fruit powers into existence? Only members of the D Clan were able to do so. They became dangerous to the rest of the world, prompting all other kingdoms to unite against them (without spoiling too much, but think of Attack on Titan).

Now, obviously, the other kingdoms won, but the will of D was too strong, and it managed to live on by reincarnating into fruits (maybe Oda will introduce some fruit theme to the D Clan as to make the fact that they got reincarnated into fruits not too random).

The Celestial Dragons labeled the fruits "Devil Fruits" because they wanted to discourage people from eating them, but after 800 years, they basically just gave up trying to contain them.

Now, I have no idea why water is the enemy of Devil Fruits, but maybe Imu wants to flood the world to get rid of all the Devil Fruits.

also...Unrelated, when Luffy gave himself his scar, he said he missed his eye. I think Joyboy is the pirate with an eyepatch Oda was talking about, and he had an eyepatch on his left eye. So, Luffy wanting to stab his eye was the will of Joyboy inside him doing that.

Man..I just completed the Thriller Bark Saga..I really loved it..Brook's backstory Zoro and Luffy's bond..it was so good to every minute detail..mention of Laboon was a surprise..The arc was beautiful in it's own way..I'm loving ONE PIECE right now..For me it's a way of life. When I watch it I feel like I am also member of their crew on their voyage.

I know Ace is going to die(I got the spoilers)..Man I'm just so sad thinking about it na..How will Luffy recover after this? The crew will also split , Why?? I really don't want to watch that..I just want to know Will it get better?? Is Luffy going to be fine??

I think the animation is decent for the most part. But I really don't like the look of the island itself. I like the idea of a >!futuristic island!<, but I don't like how it is executed. It might be the cgi or the colors but it just doesn't feel as real as almost every other island in one piece. Am I the only one that feels this?

So we all have a hated character, right? So why but my most hated character is Akainu. I always hated that guy when he first came out to the anime and he is such a bad person. How about you?

After the last episode feeling like 6 minutes long i've been thinking why is the anime so far behind the manga and what was the nearest the anime has been to the manga. I actually hate how this episode had half of 1072 and only the beginning of 1073 chapter. I don't really understand in pacing but what's a safe distance for the anime to be behind the manga? 30 chapters or maybe a bit less? I wanted to know what you guys think.

I had a semi funny idea that i feel could be such a shock if it came to be true. There might be more evidence to debunk this but i do want to put it out there as a possibility just in case.

We are around to get more knowledge about Joyboy soon and there's alot of theories on who could Joyboy been and could there be anyone alive today that is related to Joyboy. We know Joyboy was the first pirate and had his own pirate crew, Dream pirates for example for name who were defeated by World goverment and all knowledge of him has been erased from history books. We know that he might have been a giant or perhaps a buccaneer as if the large strawhat in Imus chambers is his. Now we have no knowledge if there is any one related to him living and if there would be but theres alot of possible ideas. Could be a case that after 900 years, all traces of giantism has been removed so anyone could be related like Luffy or Roger. We should note that there is no reason for this person to be like Joyboy. There are numerous people who might not be D. members who do carry the will of the D and members of D. clan like Black beard who seems to be all about not what D. stands for. Luffy and roger are closest to Joyboy but we have no clue if neither of them were related. Teaches "Special" Lineage could be hint for being related to joyboy or somekind of other secret Oda hasnt shown. He might be the strongest condender but i do want to throw a suprise canditate into the ring. Joyboys only living relative, Buggy the Clown.

Now is this a silly pick, yes but there are few things that i do want to point out. Buggy shares kinda twisted version to Luffys power to make allies which Mihawk points out. Could be that this was how Joyboy was also more like Luffy but Buggy somehow too has similar "luck" to do this. Is Buggy a D. yes but it could be a case that not even buggy knows about this. Which would be a good plan as anyone related to joyboy would meet fate similar to Ace. Law kept his D. lineage a secret and could be that Buggys family had kept the D lineage a secret from their children so nobody used it. Gorosei also dont care about anyone that isnt in new world so thats how such a low strenght pirate like Luffy and Buggy never made real impression to them until after Marine ford. Or thats how i see it. Now that Buggy got alot more backing, they made him a Yonko really fast. Suspiciously fast.

Now there is one more reason and its mainly a thematic reason. Oda is really big on thematic and he loved to put as much themes he can into some characters. Kaido is based on japanese oni, Big mom is based on Queen of hearts. Joyboy seems to have been someone who personified Nika in his era. A person of liberation and a warrior who makes people Laugh and dies with a smile. Now what professions job is to make people laugh? Comedians or Clowns. Joyboy might have had a big clown nose and more clown aesthethic similar to Buggy but more good natured. Its the one thing that is left of their lineage is the big round nose that Buggy has a weird complexion about.

This started as a joke but i ended up as short of believer. Buggy becomes Pirate king confirmed.

So i was watching the last chapter and it hit me some thing is missing luffy to rival with the gorossey that are using a word firely power when they are hit.

So may be he needs the one piece to awaking that full power. May be kuma fruit was used to extract that power and memories from the first nika. And hiden until luffy awakens that power. By discovering the one piece.

This could explain why the other fruits possessor can't go near the one piece because they are overwhelmed by that souce of power. So that only special devil fruit can come near it or could use it. that being luffy. And non devil fruit user that's why shanks crew don't have any.

That could explain why blackbeard was so interested to catch luffy before skypia and why he was looking at Drum island where was choper who has a human devil fruit another version of the human human fruit model nika more over drum island in it self a hint to nika power.

So as I see it shanks will take that source of power before luffy. The source of power being gone it will enable the straw hat crew who has a lot of devil user to reach laugh tale where he will find the first nika conscience extracted by a kuma devil fruit user. Wich will give him a power up so he can have a chance againt the gorosei. And blackbeard sensing that it was moved will attack shanks and a big fight will happen between them where blackbeard will awaken it's devil fruit and reveal it true power being the god of chaos and darkeness inspired from apophis witch will not allow balckbeard to win until he backstab.

Discovering the history of the word luffy will rally all the ally he can and reveal the truth to the world wich will enrage Imu who will try destroying the world by using the mother flame vegapunk created. Blackbeard hearing the confrontation unfolding will teleport at the last second bringing that power with him witch by some cartoonic non sense oda has the secret will end up in luffys hand and stop Imu and blackbeard destroying mariejoie and saving the world.

Hope you can complete the stories by adding what will hapen in the elbaf arc who honestly I dont have any idea of what will happen.

In this post I would like dissect something about the story that always bothers me when people discuss it, and its thematic meaning.

One of the many common debates among fans of the series is deciding whether or not Luffy is a hero character, or something closer to an anti-villain. The core of the issue seems to stem from Luffy’s controversial answer to Jimbei’s request to become Fishman Island’s hero, saying that he doesn't want to share his meat. Whether we're meant to take his statement literally or metaphorically it largely doesn't matter because he has gone out of his way to be kind to people way outside his friend group. On top of showing the capacity to share his food with others when necessary. Which in turn leads to the confusion on what type of character Luffy’s supposed to be!

My answer to this question is that he’s 100% the hero of this story, and trying to argue otherwise is playing a game of semantics. By all logical reason and evidence it just doesn’t make sense to classify him any other way. In universe, he may have convinced himself that he’s not one, but nearing the end of the story it’s become obvious he can’t commit to being truly selfish. Especially since Oda has given us numerous examples of real selfish and evil pirates, and Luffy just isn’t them. But my problem comes from the common counter argument, or trump card people use against this stance.

Every time someone wants to disprove the fact that Luffy’s a hero they bring up the impel down prisoners, and when I hear this argument I can’t help but feel like their leaving out a lot of context. Quite frankly, impel down is an explicitly cartoonishly cruel and corrupt institution that no one in their right mind would send their worst enemy to that’s owned by a genocidal government. Furthermore, Luffy only broke them out to help save his brother, someone that was wrongly prosecuted since birth, by said government that also maintains a horrific slave trade.

Additionally, correct me if I’m wrong, but do we know for certain how many of those inmates deserved to be there? I have to ask because we know that the government will actively lie about and dehumanize a person to preserve their power (Eg. Robin, Jimbei, etc). So who’s to say that Luffy, didn’t do something at least remotely heroic by freeing them. And this, of course, is all before we learn that the government is being led by the literal devil!

Conclusively, I don’t think expect that my post will end this debate definitely, but I always find it odd that more people on the hero side of the debate don’t bring these points up in defense.

TLDR; Using the time Luffy freed the impel down inmates does not automatically disprove his position as a hero character.
