This is a place to share funny, weird, and entertaining posts from people still trying to figure out how social media "works". It doesn't have to be old people or Facebook necessarily. It's just that old people are usually the worst offenders!
Useful tool for screenshots:
Rule 1: Respect the privacy of the people featured here. Never link directly to Facebook. Post a screenshot instead. Be sure to block out the following personal information on every post:
(a) Profile Pictures
(b) Last names
(c) Cities/Towns and other specific location info
(d) Identifying features in photos posted to personal pages (Photos posted on public pages are okay.)
Posts containing personal information will be removed. Repeated or severe violations may be grounds for a ban.
Rule 2: Be respectful; this means no personal attacks. Personal attacks will result in a warning, which will then result in a ban.
Rule 3: Comments attempting to point out that the post is fake or linking to /r/thathappened will be removed. This is a place to share funny social media posts, even if it does seem fake just try to see the humor in it. At the same time, please try to avoid posting things that are obviously fake. Feel free to put them in /r/oldpeoplecirclejerk.
Rule 4: Submissions must show that the subject doesn't fully understand proper use of social media. While this is broadly defined, it does not include posts that are strictly religious, political, or bigoted. Posts that do not meet this criteria will be removed. Subreddits linked below may be a more appropriate place for such content.

Okay: yes, the AI babies with seventeen fingers are hilarious. Yes, Facebook is filled with this crap. No, it doesn’t necessarily belong on here.
Most of these AI posts are coming from spambots, karma farmers, etc. They might be old people, but I kind of doubt it! If you want to post one, here’s the criteria:
Was the OP some stupidly named account like “Amazing World,” or “Support Our Soldier?” That’s not an old person misunderstanding how to use social media, so don’t post it.
Did an old person get fooled into resharing a post like the above? That’s an old person, but that’s not a misunderstanding of how to use social media. Don’t post it.
Did an old person take a look at a goofy AI post, and write a response like, “HE rEMINDS ME OF MY COUSIN LLEWELYN HE DIED OF SEPSIS IN THE WAR. BLESS.”? You have a winner!
If someone has a suggestion of a subreddit that better fits, suggest it below, and I’ll try and pin it. And if not:

Can we stop with the AI art posts?
I'm not talking about when grandma posts a funny comment on a clearly AI art pic thinking its real, or posts an irrelevant comment about Nancy kicking the bucket on a pic showing kids picking strawberries.
I'm talking about posts that literally just a screenshot of a bot account posting ai art, to trick old people. No comments, no humor, just "hey look it's ai art being posted on a fb page that is almost certainly bot operated"
Like I'm scrolling my feed on here and am just scrolling past post after post of it. Can we at least limit to posting them when there's actually something humorous happening?
