Those Falcon 9 sonic booms really rattle my place. Anyone else just feel it?
Thought it would make sense to start a thread about the Mountain fire to share information. I started hearing helicopters last night and seeing fire trucks and water drop airplanes today. Stay safe everyone!
Edit A bit of smoke today when the wind shifted but it didn't last. It looks like they started making headway to contain the fire. Great news, and I hope it continues in a positive direction. Thanks CA firefighters!
Did someone go around taking down signs?
Mine just disappeared.
Is there overnight parking in ojai? I’m coming down there for a wedding this weekend and with my wife’s and i’s work schedule we have to take separate vehicles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My parents are from LA, in the 1980’s they drove through Ojai on their way up north and decided they wanted to buy a house. My dad has a pretty good job but I would say typical college graduate level pay for California at the time, my mom was a stay at home mom. I read the Ventura star article with Donald glover talking about how he drove to ojai and decided “I’m going to raise my family here”. I honestly love Donald glover don’t get me wrong, and the issue isn’t really with him. I just feel like you now have to be a multi millionaire to just drive into ojai and decide to live here, versus my parents back in the day.
I know it’s not just ojai, it’s everywhere but it’s especially bad in ojai. I have friends who still (somehow) live in ojai, but they rent. I can barely get a house in Santa Paula, and that’s with some help financially. Anyway just ranting now, I am wondering if anyone else feels frustrated that they are priced out of their hometown. I am not saying no one can move to ojai, just please lower the house prices lol.
What is a fun place to go to dance and be goofy on Halloween?
Hi all! We’ll be traveling to Ojai and up to Santa Ynez Valley this weekend and we’re curious whether there are any farms with fresh apple cider and other hand made treats nearby? Searching has surfaced some good u-pick fruit farms but apples and cider have remained elusive. Thank you in advance!
Hi, my name is JP and I've written a screenplay about fatherhood. https://www.bandostone.world/submissions/15 If you enjoy fantasy and science fiction, I think you'll enjoy this. In the script there will be prompts to play music by Donald Glover. The music is integral to understanding the energy of each scene. It ranges from Hip Hop to R&B and even a lil country. I'm just an artist looking to get my art out. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Have a great day.
Hi everyone. I live in the PNW currently. I’ve experienced significant trajma in recent years, and have decided I’d like to live somewhere peaceful, safe and with nature to live out my life. I work in the healing arts and would be bringing my business to whatever area I end up in.
In the PNW, the people are amazing. My community is strong, deep, reflective and connected. It is hard to replace and I know that. But, due to my disease I can’t tolerate cold weather anymore in my body. I need warmth and sun to stay mobile.
I visited Ojai while seeing a friend and couldn’t believe how in love I fell. I’ve been to a lot of beautiful places, and this place really struck me.
I’m wondering if someone can speak to the people and community? Do people show up for each other? Is there a strong local vibe? How would you describe the culture?
Thank you
Heya— I’m visiting from out of town AND also training for a long run. I’ll be waking up early on a saturday just east of town and looking for an out and back or loop of about 15 miles. Trails or road runs both welcome. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone. Space X Rocket Launch is 16 minutes. 10:13 PM The booster is landing back at Vandenburg tonight should be a huge sonic boom tonight.
TIA!
Our wedding is more of a reception. It starts with a small ceremony (micro-less than 10 people) and ends with dinner at an Ojai restaurant.
We're looking for a small piece of land (ideally with a view) that we could be married on. It isn't within our budget to pay for land to marry on - it will be less than 30 minutes and we don't need music, staff - won't have any trash etc.
We love so many venues, Meditation Mount ($$), Ojai Valley Inn ($$$) - but I can't justify the cost, I understand with a staffed space, of course - but we'd love to go somewhere for free or very low cost, think 500 bucks or less.
I've looked into all the local parks, and preserves - but looks like you need permits or you fully cannot do it. I know we could likely risk it, but the idea of being made up and then stressed out about getting kicked out isn't sitting well with me.
Any one have suggestions? A trail I am not thinking of, a lookout that is escaping me? Appreciate your help!
Whats the skinny?
What are we thinking?
Let's gossip and figure out who's best for the town.
HI, hoping someone will see tis by tomorrow but i heard there is construction on the 33 and i am wondering if i should avoid it/ is it that bad? Im looking for the fastest route there tomorrow morning... thanks in advance!
Hello! I'm planning a birthday trip for my best friend April in of next year and we had the thought that it would be fun to hire a private chef for an evening. There's going to be about 8-10 of us in total with a large, fully functioning kitchen. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
what school did you go to for esthetics or cosmetology? are any spa/salons in Ojai hiring for an apprenticeship program of some sort or a front desk position? Thanks in advance! <3
Anyone else?
I'm up on Grandview and Sunset.
Looking for someone with a truck who may be willing to transport a 90" couch from Ojai to SLO. Willing to cover gas and a supplemental transport fee. Please message me if you know of someone or are interested!
Recently moved here, any parks with a bball hoop for me to play at? I’ve haven’t seen any around
I’m looking for fun day workshops crafting fall stuff… like wreaths, Halloween, thanksgiving and stuff.

Did you or someone you know give pushback to the Libbey Bowl promoter in June 2018?
