Of mice and men in the studio videos

Does anyone remember watching those "in the studio" videos of their self titled album and the flood? I had them saved on a playlist and they're probably privated now. I've been craving watching them again for nostalgia and some in the studio vibes. Does anyone have these videos saved and could post them??

Pulling Teeth Live

Does anybody think or know why OM&M hasn’t played the song “Pulling Teeth” live yet? It’s one of their more popular songs now. Maybe because of the insanely fast double kick speed?

I've double booked myself the week of the tour and I'm going to be out of the country that week so I'm going to miss the show. Does anyone want to buy the ticket from me?

Upon first listen, whats your initial favorite off the new album?

Enraptured is going to have and keep a chokehold on me for awhile. Need to listen to and digest a few more times but, I really hope they do this one on their upcoming tour with Bullet for my Valentine.

Just gave the album “Cold World” a first listen, was surprised with how familiar it sounded to me.

Being a fresh fan (I discovered Of Mice & Men around November of 2022), I was skeptical about listening to it for quite a while because of how much crap people gave it. But for the past couple of days, I was searching up other bands for new music I can listen to whilst working, but none seem to be able to move me as efficiently as OM&M’s tracks do, so I thought, “Y’know what, let’s just give Cold World a listen. How bad can it be?”

And wow. I was surprised. I really liked it. Sure, it generally didn’t seem as dynamic, heavy, or catchy in a sense compared to other OM&M albums, especially the ones that’re more “well received”—but as someone who doesn’t mind when metal bands go softer with their sound, I actually preferred listening to this over much of the heavier songs in other albums. There were certain moments where it did get catchy and brutal (fricking transition from “-” to “Pain” dropped my jaw open), but not too much to to point of exhausting me. But what got me most to favor the album is that some of the tracks’ riffs and melodies (just the general VIBE-) sounded fairly similar to the ones used in previous & later albums like Restoring Force, Earthandsky, and Echo.

I don’t know anything about music, so how to explain this… It’s as if the album gave me the vibe that it's picked up the tone (as in “mood”, not the musical term) of where Restoring Force left off, with the combination of riffs & melodies alike the ones in Earthandsky and Echo.

Holler at me if you disagree or wanna note something, but these are at least some of how the “feel” sounded like in my lowly ears:

The Lie = You're Not alone (the way the verses are sung) + Pieces (overall feel of the chorus)

Like A Ghost = Broken Generation (verses) + Bloom (riff) + Earth and Sky (chorus)

Contageous = How to Survive (opening) + Something to Hide (chorus)

Relentless = As We Suffocate (riffs, just slower lol), Obsolete (chorus, especially “I am relentless” = “Becoming obsolete” XD), Taste of Regret (buildup before.. bridge? Breakdown? Idk, the part that happens in the 2:09 mark)

Down the Road = Vertigo (riff) + Echo (overall feel of the chorus)

Away = Timeless (opening riff & the one after choruses) + Farewell to Shady Glade (bridge? The part sung in 2:15)

Though I can understand why this ain’t as popular as the other OM&M albums (lack of heaviness being one of the biggest factors, it seems), it’s hard for me to get why it’s disliked so much. The band had to go softer with their sound for obvious reasons regarding health, and it also sounded like they wanted to try something new whilst transitioning from their previous album. In any case, for me, since Earthandsky, Restoring Force, and Echo are my—current—top favorites, listening to Cold World at a later time just amped up my love for both the album and the band. Cold World may not be the strongest album, but it walked for banger albums like Earthandsky and Echo to run (kinda felt like meeting the parent of my favorite friends lol). It’s such a joy finding the stuff I like most about my favorite albums used in this one.

Goodness, now that I read back, this post is all over the place (got a lot to say, that’s how much I like it) XD So yeah, this is just my first impression on Cold World. And Imma go listen it all over again. If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Y’all got any opinions on the album? I wanna hear!

Are Defy, EarthAndSky, and Echo more Metalcore or Hard Rock? Wanna get into those, as well
