This juvenile rock lobster hitched a ride aboard a jelly fish. The two are cruising the east coast of Madagascar at night. There are about 60 species of achelate crustaceans in the Decapoda Reptantia. @sciencechannel

Stung by something

Hi! I’m currently in Spain and while swimming, felt a stabbing and then burning pain on my lip, like I was shot by something. Think it was stuck to my hair or goggles which touched my lip when i resurfaced (was swimming on the beach). It did hurt a little, but not to the point I was too worried. It did swell up as well, but went down not long after. Did not see anything that could have caused it. Know there’s not a lot to go off on, but does anyone know what it could be? If so, is it something to be worried about or not? I do have a bad headache now, but that’s not abnormal for me, so I don’t believe it has something to do with the sting.

Worm-like Creature on Samal Island, Philippines

Can anyone identify this creature or at least tell me what phylum it's in? There were hundreds of them during low tide and would retract if you touched them.

Swimming in the med - any idea what could've caused this?

Was swimming in the sea off southern Italy (not too far fromnaples) this morn and something bit me in the attached fashion. No idea what but speculation welcome!
