Does anyone know what this is ????? It washed up on Virginia Beach. It’s about 4 feet long. Never seen anything like it.

Anyone know what this is? We were at hood canal and found a bucket laying in the sand, we lifted it up and these were on the bottom. They were kind of hard but partially water filled on the inside and had a good suction on the bucket.

This seems to be a weird worm of sorts. I am in Maine. It got to be as big as an inch and a half but shrink down as it clung onto the rock. It about the length of the tip of a thumb. Any ideas on what it is
