In all of my OBS recordings (I only noticed it today and I think I would notice audio defects like this before) there is a high-pitched constant ringing overlayed on every audio. It’s not my headphones and it’s not the editing software, what do I do to fix this?
I am trying to record my camera and my mic in obs but my PC is so loud I need to add the noise suppression filter, but whenever that filter is added my mic audio doubles mad makes it sound very robotic. I have tried switching from RNNoise to Speex but the issue is still the same. IU have no clue how to fix this and can't find anything online that helps. What am I doing wrong?
Just got a new PC and d/l OBS Studio. I am not sure the last version I had on my last one, but I can not for the life of me find a setting in 31.0 to make my level bars show individual db notches. They are only ever 5db.
Is it the end of the world? No. Do I dislike change and find it hard to adjust? Yes.
Are the days of 1db increments gone or is there a setting I am missing?
Hello.
Iv divided all my audio to their respective tracks: Discord audio, game window audio, and microphone. The only thing that records is my microphone. Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you!
(Also side note: all the tracks do pick up the audio. It's just dosnt pick up when I record.)
Before I get onto my question I'll give a little background.
I have been working on recording games in 4k resolution using the x264 encoder and have been getting serious skipped frames from encoding lag regardless of the settings.
Computer hardware includes
-TR 3960x
-64gb memory all slots filled for quad channel (speed and timings I'll get to)
-Radeon VII for gpu
-Dedicated nvme for video storage
After searching the Internet for help I haven't found a solution, until I checked the memory speed was at the default jdec. Jumped the memory peed to 3600 and timings on auto and that fixed the encoding issue, even allowed me to use the fast preset on the CPU.
Now onto my question, does OBS prefer fast memory speeds without consideration to timings, tighter timings and speed doesn't matter or a mix of the two?
I have a feeling speed matters more given my findings but I need to find ram OC stability before I record. I do get errors when doing stability test but I need to know which direction I need to aim for.
What do I need to do to record this in 4k? ps5 records the vr in 1080, i got a new laptop for this purpose but obs is only showing 1080 canvas size... kind of confused, this laptop has a rtx 4070 and tons of other specs...thought it had 4k...
I've been trying to figure this out for awhile now and still haven't found much of an answer. The built in noise suppression in obs is alright but it REALLY consistently cuts out my voice when I'm talking at a lower volume.
Reafir is much better but it's still not the best when it comes to removing noise when you're talking. So when you're not talking it sounds great and the second you start talking it picks up everything else while making it a bit quieter.
I recently realized that I really like discord's built in noise suppression that comes from Krisp so I tried downloading it and it makes it required that you connect your google/outlook calender which felt really damn weird so I haven't tried it yet.
The only other one that I've heard a lot about is the nvidia noise suppression which would be great for me except I don't have a nvidia gpu and they seem a little out of my budget.
Is there anything else that I could try? Also if someone has any info on how krisp sounds that would be cool since I could just make an account I don't ever use for the calendar thing
So I'm trying to make beat videos for instagram but for some reason whatever i do my videos is ending up not being HD (I tried x264 and also other bitrate settings and any of these but didn't matter)
Specs:
İntel arc a750 8GB
Ryzen 5 5500
16GB Ram
Output settings:
.MKV
QuickSync H.264
FFmpeg AAC
VBR
6000 Bitrates
6500 Max Bitrates
Slowest
High Profile
Keyframe interval 2 s
B Frames 2
I have a condenser mic and trying different places to put it I realized that if I yell a little It sounds like peaking, but it is not.
The obs is in the yellow, I use a limiter and a compressor. Also the audio interface is far away from it in the green.
I tried changing the filters and volumes but the only way is to keep it kinda far away, which makes me sound worse when talking lower.
In case it is important:
Filter: Gain - Compressor - Limiter - Noise suppression
Mic: LEWITT LCT 440 PURE XLR
Audio interface: Focusrite scarlett solo 4th gen
If anyone know how to fix it thank you.
Hey guys,
Let’s say I recorded a video in OBS using the MKV format, and my audio stream was uncompressed (like PCM or something). Now, I know MP4 doesn’t support uncompressed audio, and remuxing is supposed to just change the container without re-encoding.
If I try to remux that MKV to MP4 in OBS, what actually happens? Does it fail, strip out the audio, or something else? J
Thanks in advance
I will be switching to a Scarlett 4th Gen Solo or SSL2 MKI, in case it matters.
I bought a Vocaster Two that I'm using with Sennheiser 935 but both with it and the DM14v, I need to set max input gain to half in the Vocaster controller app in order not to catch any background noise.
But if I record in a DAW, it's always quiet and I need to increase the volume by using Match Clip Gain to -27 LUFS. Is there a way how to increase the volume while streaming without actually increasing the maximum input gain so it doesn't start picking up the background noise?Just like the DAW can increase it after it's recorded?
Or should I be using noise gates and settings in the OBS etc. instead?
Hello everyone,
I've been streaming for some time, but yesterday, I noticed an FPS drop and small freezes while streaming Dota 2 (on my native monitor, where I play the game.
There has been an update yesterday from Steam regarding Dota 2, so it may have to do with the game actually, but I still am investigating a potential cause for this, and I found out that I'm getting these messages repeatedly in my log files:
"warning: Could not update timestamps for discarded samples."
I'm going to upload some of the log files so you can see for yourself, so please let me know what's going on.

Help, i don't know what to do, i'm no expert in those kind of things and i've been trying to solve this problem for some time now, i've searched online and try differnt things with no succes
I will put some informattions here
video resolution (both): 1920x1080
Encoder video: Hardwer(AMD/HEVC) / AMD HW H.265 (HEVC)
Bitrate: 6000
Encoder settings: CQP 17
Log Analysis: https://obsproject.com/logs/QYGTobwMcvJ7C1y6
The log analysis doesn't see anything wrong with it
please help me
Edit:I've only now noticed the (idk how many) lines of fatal: No JPEG data found in image, ERROR DECODING VIDEO So it maybe a problem with the capture card and not obs
Hey all, Im running into a problem that’s driving me crazy. I am trying to record live performance and live looping videos from Ableton to OBS. I am able to use the “Capture Mac Audio” function in OBS, but the problem is that captures the metronome in my recordings as well. I want to be able to hear the metronome in my headphones so i can keep time, but not have it recorded into OBS. I have the metronome/Cue Out routed to separate channels (5/6) and the Master Out channels to (3/4). Please tell me there’s a way to route ONLY the Master Out channels to OBS?
I followed everything in this guide and everything is working perfectly so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk-n7IlrXI4&list=FLCUvVQNOmr1lx1-lUmhHYtQ&index=10
However, I now have some camcorder recordings with the date recorded and for some reason, in OBS, it cuts half of it (displays perfectly on the playback window attached to the Samsung camcorder).
Link to the image of the playback window on the camcorder & my OBS footage not displaying the date properly: https://imgur.com/a/ryRIjmj
How can I fix this, whilst still maintaining great quality when following the above guide? Many thanks.
Hey, guys. Ive been fiddling with my OBS for a while but cant get it to stream or record at my actual refresh rate and resolution. Whenever I'm live on twitch, the feed comes across incredibly pixilated and drops frames a lot. Can I upload a log of my settings anywhere or should I add screenshots of it all? I cant seem to add any images to this post though. Appreciate any help. Thank you. https://obsproject.com/logs/Roc05KHZkQN30XkN

From my reading this is a fairly common problem, but I've tried all the solutions I found and my settings all seem to be the way they should be.
I checked my mic input devices and they are not set to "listen to this device" in the windows sound settings.
I also checked the audio settings OBS and they were all set to monitor off (which after reading sounds like my voice shouldn't even be outputting to the stream if that's the case?) I changed the mic settings to monitor only, and that did not change anything.
I deleted and re-added my steam mic, and that seemed like it was working, so i went live and the minute I went live i could hear my voice again.
Trying to record my main + secondary monitor at the same time (1920x1080 + 1280x1024), and for some reason there is no option to select a matching resolution for the output.
Even if I manually type in matching resolutions, it defaults to the 3268x1080 instead of 3270x1080
I just want to ask if older versions are still safe to use? I you're using an old one, what version do you use or what's the oldest version you can use? I don't want to talk about specs and etc. but if you're using an older version of obs what's the safest old version to use in terms of your system's compatibility? Or that obs version is safe to you, is it also safe to the other users with newer specs?
hello does anyone here have any idea on what settings im supposed to change to make this happen? I dont really know what im doing and im hoping someone here does. my current recording settings: https://imgur.com/a/LUX2ugG
my video settings tab: https://imgur.com/a/npGbZiN
i dont think hardware is issue as im running a 9800x3D/rtx 4090.
the recording comes out looking laggy/low fps and i dont know why or what settings i should change
So everytime I stream vrchat with obs it's zoomed in and doesn't show my whole pov, I tried using the plugim for obs but that doesn't work either, need help! I use a quest 3 with link cable
Hi all, I had taken a few days off from streaming but upon my return I've noticed my CPU ussage has double if not tripled in OBS, I've changed no scenes or sources! I'm used to seeing it around 2% maximum! Now it's peaking around 7-10%! I know it's not majorly high but that's quite the increase! I've tried turning off the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling ("HAGS") feature in the windows settings as per my log analysis but nothing has changed!

Does anyone have any idea on what to do? Or any experience with this? Cheers ❤️
I have it set to F9, and when I press it, it gives me an error message saying the following:
"Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details."
"Note: if you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date."
My video drivers are in fact up to date, and I've tried what the top youtube tutorial said, which was "run it as administrator" which didn't work
It does say to check "the log" but I dunno what that is.
So I have a Mac mini M2Pro running OBS.
I am getting a blurry image and comes and goes but stays most of the time
when recording gameplay or streaming. Any help
would be greatly appreciated!
Would like to know if I get this issue solved: Currently have two different audio tracks, and can mute the music one for Twitch vod. OBS has a way to do that for twitch vods. However would like to have both game and music audio through my noice cancelling headphones and still use headphone track and music track but separate them using a program like Voicemeter. Currently I play music through a different audio output(speakers) and game through headset. Can i listen to music through my headphones and keep the outputs separate?
Okay so im using a single pc currently and im just starting out to post some gaming videos on my channel
But when im recording sometimes i got stuttering even lag either from obs or the game is there anyway i can fix this? i tried 720p its giving me stuttering and lag too sometimes so im a bit confused whats goin on here.
Im not sure if its my hardware not powerful enough or my obs settings are not right
My PC specs:
CPU - Ryzen 5 5600G
GPU - RTX 3060 12GB
RAM - 32GB 3200MHz
OBS settings i used:
Rosolution : 1080p 60fps
1)Using NVEC H.264
2)Using CQP
3)High Preset
4)Level 17
5)P6 = Slower(Better Quality)
6)Turn on Psycho Tuning
Im willing to change my cpu(AM4) or gpu if i have too, any help would be appriciated
Edit/Update: Somehow i fixed it by putting it into simple mode?? Now everything is smooth and giving me good quality! I now manage to play and record 1080p/60fps thank u to the two peeps who tried helping me
I've been playing msfs 24 since the drop and recently was introduced to aitrack and opentrack and was working fine while I was streaming on OBS with a facecam. I also just yesterday updated to windows 11, I'm assuming this is the problem, and now aitrack and opentrack cannot recognize my webcam while OBS is open and running at the same time and vice versa. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, checked all the settings on both apps including windows camera app access and still to no avail. Maybe someone can point in the right direction of something I missed.
So I know what you’re thinking and this isn’t the usual the obs is lagging blah blah blah. I recently factory reset my PC. I’m redownloading stuff and for some reason when I have my Valorant and OBS it seems like I’m losing frames on the game. The thing is I’m not recording or streaming. I delete the game capture source and it’s perfectly fine it’s running smooth and then I try display capture and it happens again. I go into the range to see if maybe it’s the loading screen and it keeps happening but the weird thing is, is when I start lagging I get the notification that my internet isn’t stable. Which for some reason doesn’t make sense to me.
Hello everyone. I’m now getting into live-streaming videogame content. My main question is how can I use my iPhone 16 as a camera and stream my Xbox at the same time? I’m kinda stuck in a spot to get that situated
I do split screen streaming with friends - they send me an unlisted stream, and I pop that up like a pip during my stream.
The issue is the browser source is a good, 3 seconds behind my local source (because it’s a stream)
I had thought to just delay my portion of the stream by as many seconds as I could with render delay and audio sync offset, but audio sync offset seems to be gone?
So, my question is, is there a way to sync a browser source stream with my local source?
