Best place to bring my cousin who’s in town? (Manhattan)

Looking to find a reasonably affordable restaurant that has vegan options in NYC - my cousin is visiting from FL and I want to be able to find a decent place to eat for lunch.

(We do love spicy moon, but it’s a bit steep for this weekend lol)

20$ pp or under preferably!!

Not that this is a busy sub, but please don't post Twitter/X links. Musk has no home here.

That is all.

Birthday dining help

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to be posting this but I’m about to turn 16 and wanted to do either a brunch or lunch with my friends to celebrate, I’m vegan with a tree nut and sesame allergy and the rest of them do not have any dietary restrictions other than a peanut/treenut allergy. I am looking for either a lunch or brunch place that has vegan tree nut free options that would take a reservation for 8 and wouldn’t be more than 20-30 per person please let me know if you have any ideas

Williamsburg breakfast/rec

I lived in New York a few years ago, now I am visiting but now as someone handicapped. Anyone know any good cafe/breakfast spots in Williamsburg or just vegan friendly places in the area? I don’t want to travel too far from my hotel. Thank you!

Birthday Desserts/ Chocolate Spheres

Coming to town next Saturday for my birthday. I am currently on the waitlist for Dirt Candy and also have reservations at Third Kingdom. I was wondering if there were any places that make remarkable vegan birthdayish desserts or crazy things like molecular gastronomy or chocolate spheres that I shouldn't miss? Photo example: https://www.americas-table.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Chocolate-Sphere.jpg

I leave around dinner time on that Sun, so whatever it is would need to be available all day Sat (even late night) or Sunday before 5PM.

Veggie Sosmix in nyc?

It’s a Christmas tradition for my family to have veggie sosmix rolls on Christmas Eve. Wondering if anyone knows a grocery store that sells veggie sosmix? It’s too late for delivery and it would be great to surprise the family! Any help would be very appreciated

Vegan Gingerbread Cookies?

Hi, I'm making a vegan gingerbread cheesecake for my family's Christmas Eve (recipe here lol) and I was wondering if there was anywhere local that sold vegan gingerbread cookies? Not sure if I have time to make a whole batch just to use for the decorations on this, but I can if there aren't any places that carry them. Hot tips for accidentally vegan grocery store brands welcome as well! I'm in Queens, family's in Brooklyn so I'm open to anywhere there, or Manhattan below like midtown. Thanks in advance!

Top 10 recommendations for vegan food in NYC

Hi, we are traveling to the city today. While I appreciate HappyCow and its reviews I just thought I’d ask if any of you would mind throwing out some of your favorites that can’t be missed!

We are here for four nights staying near Bryant Park but will travel anywhere in Manhattan for vegan vittles. Also, we will be in Brooklyn part of the time too. Thanks in advance!

19F looking for online or IRL friends in the NYC/NJ surrounding areas!

Hi! I am looking to make some new friends in the area that share my passion for veganism! I've been vegan for 7 years and am a strong advocate for animal rights. I don't want to share too much info about myself on here but you can definitely get to know me if you message me! If you're 30 or over, please don't message me, l'm looking for friends within my age range, and also if you voted for Trump we probably won't be a good fit either as l'm looking for friends that also share similar political beliefs. Anyway, let's be friends! Comment or send me a dm!

Vegan Pecan Pie

The best baked goods my friends and family have ever had has been from an all vegan bakery in Bethlehem, PA. I was lucky to live near them and ordered frequently. Their death by chocolate and strawberry cheesecake are family favorites!

Now that I am in NYC I was surprised to see they offer vegan pecan pies for Thanksgiving and ship to my door. Wanted to post in case any one wants to buy vegan dessert. I’m not affiliated with them in any way.

Christmas Brunch and/or Dinner

Hello! I'm planning to visit NYC this Christmas with my parents. I have spent quite a bit of time exploring the city and have a pretty good handle on most of the touristy must-see/dos, but I am hoping to find a nice spot for Christmas Brunch and/or Dinner. Open to basically anything, including a harbor tour if you know that there are reliable vegan options onboard any of the local cruises? My parents are omni and I'm sure they'd appreciate omni-friendly spots (though they're usually pretty good about trying fully vegan spaces). Nicer/upscale but not crazy expensive (thinking $75-100/pp) would be nice, but willing to hear all options! Let me know what you've got for suggestions!

Anyone been to Third Kingdom? I was not impressed.

Don't get me wrong, the food is fantastic. Amazing creations, tasted great. But for up to like $30 per plate they were TINY. And I'm not just talking "smaller portions" tiny, like the server specifically said "these are sharing plates and you'll probably need five of them for two people". They were also all mushrooms with almost nothing else. I know, I know, it's a mushroom restaurant. I've been to mushroom-focused restaurants in the past (The Haunt in Savannah comes to mind), and they've ALL had dishes featuring mushrooms. Pasta with mushrooms, a mushroom sandwich of some sort, etc. But Third Kingdom was JUST mushrooms.

While it tasted great, the portions and content were so unsatisfying that after spending like $160 for two people we went and got pizza at Two Boots.

Afternoon Tea with Vegan Options?

My friend and I are looking to do afternoon tea in NYC, they are vegan but I am not. I'm having trouble finding places that offer vegan scones/savories/sweets.

Our go-to is alice's tea cup which is always a classic, but we were hoping to try somewhere new. Thanks for any recs!

Places for a Vegan Thanksgiving?

Hi! I am looking for restaurants in Manhattan that will have Vegan Thanksgiving options on Thanksgiving, as well as the days before Thanksgiving. I know Red Bamboo will be open. Was looking for other places as well. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the responses! I settled on the Red Bamboo restaurant in the village for thanksgiving day. I’ll definitely try out the places suggested when I get a chance! Planning on eventually going to every Vegan restaurant that nyc has to offer. 💚💚💚
