Warning: Philly AI Connect Linked to Corrupt Tech Company

Hey Philly Tech community,

I wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a group called Philly AI Connect, which appears to be a resurrection of a corrupt tech company. Victor Raymond Tabaac, who has been arrested multiple times, including on burglary charges, is leading this group. There are many other AI/ML communities in Philly that are not associated with any shady organizations, so please be cautious.

Background:

I came across an article about Triumph Tech, a company known for its unethical practices, including egregiously overcharging for AWS services. It turns out that Victor Raymond Tabaac, the former CEO of Triumph Tech, is now heading Philly AI Connect.

Here's the article detailing Triumph Tech's conduct violations: Biz Journals Article

Concerns:

Triumph Tech folks have started up a new meetup called "AI Connect." As someone in the Data/AI community, I've gotten a bad vibe from these guys at our events. They don't seem to have great intentions, and I'm worried about people/businesses potentially being ripped off by this reincarnated group.
