I’m starting my grinding for the Pokémon White elite 4 and don’t know which level cap to go off of. Is it the Champion max level, N, or Ghetsis?

8th badge is in the case baby!!!! Torrent the Swanna and Excavator the Excadrill swept the dragons out of their best! Feather dancing down and getting force switched by her opening Fraxure before slaying it with Torrent after Volt Switch pivoting back to her. Doing the same thing to her druddigan before also being forced to switch with dragon tail….right into Excavator who had learned Swords Dance at the level cap. Using a single swords dance after being dragged into battle he EASILY swept through Druddigan and Haxorous with a Soft Sand and swords dance boosted Earthquake! Even though he was out sped by haxorous Iris decided to go for a dragon dance in hopes of turning the battle around, even though anything neutral wouldn’t have beaten Excavator. And, on my first nuzlocke run in Pokémon white….WE’RE HEADING TO THE ELITE 4!!!!!!!!!

Iggy the Infernape and Raven the Dusclops were able to make short work of Aaron, but Masque the Roserade went down to a crit earthquake from Bertha's hippowdon (fortunately Gozen the Weavile was able to clean up after his sweep). Gibby the Garchomp made short work of Flint, though Raven had to play tank against Magmortar for a bit. Despite Raven and Gozen handily stomping most of Lucian's team, his Bronzong got pretty scary when I accidentally let it set up some calm minds, thinking Raven could tank psychic (she couldn't, and survived by the skin of her teeth). Some quick switching let Gozen bait out a gyro ball, which Iggy then tanked before blasting Bronzong away with flare blitz. Togi the Togekiss made her Pokemon League debut against Cynthia, flinching her Spiritomb and Togekiss to death. And Gozen revealed herself to be the team's surprise tank, eating a hard switch into Garchomp's dragon rush before OHKOing with an ice punch.

I definitely went easy on myself for my first Nuzlocke. The only extra restrictions I applied were set mode, level caps, and no running from wild Pokemon, and I allowed any and all healing items and rare candies. Still, it was a damn good time and it felt good to get back into Platinum (hadn't played it for about five or six years now). I'm looking forward to the postgame, and eventually maybe HGSS.

Finally, shoutout to the friends we lost along the way. Charli the Shinx, Roky the Graveler, Applejack the Ponyta, Coulis the Tentacool, Michael the Floatzel, Thurston the Gyarados, Hurricane the Drapion, and now Masque. I couldn't have made it this far without y'all. Rest in power.

Attempting Renegade Platinum for the first time and have just hit what I've been told is the hardest part of the game (the boss rush from Jupiter to Fantina/Barry). While I've watched a lot of content on the game, I've never played, and I had three big losses (Turtwig, Magnemite, Gyarados) that I was planning a lot around. I also failed the Rotom encounter. While my Gyarados got me through Jupiter, I have the rest of the boss rush left.

My best Pokémon so far have been Speed Boost Combusken, Crobat, Flame Orb Guts Luxio, and Donphan (for pivoting/speed control).

In addition to above -- Croconaw and Staravia have Intimidate, Aerodactyl has Rock Head, Marill (shiny) has Huge Power, Bibarel has Simple. Monferno does not have Iron Fist (Blaze), Milotic does not have Marvel Scale (Cute Charm). I haven't reset on anything and don't allow it when I play Nuzlockes.

Any advice for the next section would be helpful. I was planning to use Croconaw/Feraligatr on Fantina but I'm nervous about the rest. Grinding has also started to slow down the game for me a lot.

I kept quiting and trying in an endless loop. I dont use choice items nor 2x+ boosting move like DDance but im tired. I will try again without them but i feel like another loop thats going bound to happen.

After a decently good run (only 2 deaths before the E4 and 4 losses to the E4) I prepared for N and Ghetsis. Crustle + Krookodile took care of N easily, but I wiped to Hydreigon and didn't see another way out. On top of the three usual HC rules (encounters, items, deaths) I ban Excadrill and don't do any EV training (natural EVs are fine). The rest of my team was Cryogonal, Samurott, Leavanny, and Archeops. Hydreigon outsped everyone, which means it must have had a +Speed nature and max IVs unless it has EVs and I just don't know how stats work in this game. I tested it a second time and same result. Cryogonal had 28 speed IVs, so I thought there was no way it would be outsped, but that didn't work. I fought a second time but the result was the same (well, I got lucky and won because he actually missed an attack for once and then I got a freeze, but that isn't the point). I don't feel like doing a third. Timid Leavanny also was not enough, neither was the pretty fast Archeops.

I could have won if Sawk was still alive, but the E4 got him. Jellicent too, but I wouldn't have thought to use it, because it is still walls water and ghost. I suppose I could have stalled it if I really wanted too, but it wasn't alive so it doesn't matter. I don't feel like grinding out another run right now (since my last run also wiped to Ghetsis), maybe another time. Perhaps on a follow-up I will get an encounter on Route 3 that isn't Pidove. If I allowed EVs, this would be a joke.

I want to do a mono type nuzlocke run of one of each game ( so if i do fire red i dont have to do leaf green) im doing it on emulator so im not doing really recent games, which type would give me the best shot at this.

So I decided I was going to try and nuzlocke pokemon X because it was the first one I saw in my game bag (an actual ds). I lost about 5 pokemon pre elite 4. Then Diantha's Gardevoir swept Delphox, Xerneas, Garchomp, Bisharp, and Mega Blastoise. I panicked. Then I remembered... Buffy lives on. Buffy the Wobbuffet from Mirror Cave is 15 levels underleveled, she was my last resort against Lysandre. She sent Diantha to the mirror dimension using Mirror coat and won the battle securing the only time I've genuinely nearly lost the run.

Is this team good enough to take on Wattson?

I know I picked a starter that becomes a ground type but he felt really easy. Not much else has happened other than rocket evolving and now he pretty much OHKO every wild pokemon I see. Merry Christmas everyone

I remember a lot of details tho, it was only one video covering his first Platinum nuzlocke, his tone of voice was peculiar, he seemed really tired and even a bit sad from time to time, his voice wasn’t very deep from what I remember At the beginning of the video, he may have rambled a bit, like how trading was supposed to encourage Pokemon enjoyers to interact with other Pokemon enjoyers and how it led to him having 2 of the same console

he had a Leafeon who died kinda early.

I remember most of his E4 team: Infernape; Abamasnow; Togekiss; Giratina as backup; and some random fodder.

I also remember the way he lost: I think he lost a mon to Barry due to him grinding after the fight or somethin, because he just put a newly caught Giratina and fodder in his elite four team. It also let to his Infernape dying to an Rypherior (or something like that) due to him over estimating Infernape’s strength, which in turn let to everyone in his team dying to Cynthia’s Lucario.

I can’t remember if he had a sixth pokemon, but it probably died to Lucario if he did.

I doubt a lot of people will remember this but he also turned attack animations off.

If I remember correctly he didn’t have an avatar and it wasn’t an animated video

Please help me find his video since I really like it and want to see more from him

All-right! So I took a break for longer than expacted, then I started to draw this piece! So what happened since the last update is that I leveled up my pokémon and added a new rule: rare candy is allowed!!! Now imma face the gym! Hopefully the next update won't take this long 😅

So, this marks the start of my 2nd ever GenLocke. And this time I hope that I will at least get to Unnova (Unlike the last time where I wiped at Cynthia)

I will post an update after every region or before a tought fight where I might need some help strategizing.

I'm attempting to do a Pokemon Sword Hardcore Nuzlock but just after starting and catching my first pokemon I'm now realising that my whole team is always going to recieve exp for everything any other team pokemon does which might accidentally boost my team pokemon beyond the level cap. Is there a solution besides having to box my team pokemon that are at the level cap or is that my only option?
