I've been attempting a Blaze Black 2 Redux Hardcore Nuzlocke and while there are a lot of strong mandatory fights, there's also a lot of non mandatory battles one can do ahead of most gyms. I haven't gotten past Burgh yet and before Roxie you can fight all of the trainers in the Virbank Complex but other than the two that shield off your encounter, rest are easily avoidable and just end up being more of an additional threat to losing pokemon on than anything
Of course beating the workers gives you a TM, but one could technically delay that till after the gym where you're higher leveled right?
For Burgh you have so many optional trainers in the Relic Passage, the sewers, even the Battle Company, where again, you fight the trainers for a reward, but the teams are also tough so being able to avoid them for later for safety is really nice
This is where I am kinda wondering how the common rule set looks like, both for this specific rom hack and others
Technically you can skip most of the trainers before the gym, just use candies to get up to the needed level for the gym fight then do those trainers that shield rewards later and can continue to ignore the others, unless you want some money from them
I tried looking up other nuzlockes of this rom but I never really see people particularly challenge ALL trainers while also remembering a lot of non mandatory trainers are attempted to be dodged in other roms (Spinners)
What do you think? Is fighting all available trainers ahead of a gym a common and in this case relevant rule to add or is it fair to just focus on the mandatory ones?
I did 5 attempts so far and the amount of pokemon I lost on non mandatory battles is...
Sorry if I’m in the wrong place but I don’t know where to go and google isn’t helping me. I got a Lucario in my Renegade Platinum run on a Delta emulator, and this Lucario has Steadfast which I didn’t think was possible. Shouldn’t this be an Adaptability Lucario? What did I do wrong?
"why don't I do a semiblind nuzlocke puffy pink? That would be fun." I say.
I choose my starter, blissfully unaware of the immense pressure I'll have to win until suddenly I see that sparkling animation- my starter is a shiny. I didn't even reset for this. It just happened.
Now I feel like I need to win the run 😭 he's blessed my run but it might be more of a curse, we'll see.
Just started a Sapphire hc nuzlocke file and my treeko showed up with pokerus. How do I infect my other pokemon and how to I keep pokerus sustained I don't wanna lose it this could be huge for my run! For those that post failed runs and E4 teams you guys are huge inspirations for me. Thank you in advance for any help or information
Thanks to everyone who helped me work out the kinks in the team yesterday, and another thank you to the team who took down the BDSP league!
Luftballon the Driflimb Goku the Infernape Thorn Hub the Roserade Joy the Blissy Danger the Gastrodon Katara the Gyarados
Full odds baby 😍
Is sunny day/growth/sleep powder/solar beam, timid nature, 252hp/252speed/4defence a good build for a venusaur? What's considered the best moveset for any of the starters in FR?
Hasty Synchronise is so good, speed is so useful
So I am going to be playing a soul link nuzlocke with my brother and I just want to ask what is a good first game to play for a nuzlocke? I know the consensus is to play the game you most know but my brother doesn’t know the games that well, I mean he knows the mechanics and such but he doesn’t know about the run killers of each game. Since it’s a soul link my brother also said he wants it to be opposite versions. We can play on all games excluding the switch games. Any recommendations are welcome thank you.

Really curious of the community’s thoughts here on if this is even possible. I’m hoping for something that can carry through to the elite 4 and isn’t just a compound eyes sleep powder like Butterfree This is before the physical special split, before good bug moves like U-Turn and X-Scissor. My early thoughts are a fast physical attacker with good special defense to handle Kanto psychic types, but want to hear other thoughts! Stat spread, abilities, role, moveset, etc.
Renplat Jubilife. Does this mean I can use the Charmander too 😎😎😎
I'm nuzlocking Pokemon Black. I have just beat the E4 today and was about to wipe the floor with N's face, but when the cutscene came in, the game was just black out. I now have no idea what to do.
I’ve heard that playing with a shiny clause is pretty common, but how do you think I should handle this?
I already have a Geodude sitting in my dead box, and my encounter on this route was a Teddiursa.
I’m thinking I should release the Teddiursa and maybe move an extra mon in my box to the death box as a penance for essentially reviving my Geodude. Thoughts?
I’ve never encountered a shiny Pokemon in my life, so I’d really love to use this one.
Next gym up is Elesa and this is NOT a good team. I'm so disappointed
so today will be my first attempt in nuzlocke i dont care about diffculty i used to play pokemon competetive all i care about is i want a romhack with all pokemons from gen 1 to 9 or 7 with all evolutions any suggestions ?
Me and a friend of mine are doing a nuzlocke of S&V and I wanted to know the stats of the Titan pokemon so I know how much of a chance I have against them before I go for it, but I can't find any information on what the difference in stats are between a regular pokemon and a Titan.
Are there any documents with their full stats spread on it?
