I’m quite worried that I will never be able to get internship (at least it’s reasonable to think so with my current application results). I wonder what are you guys with no internship experience during undergraduate years are doing now?
Facing problems with SEP mappings and would like to switch minors. Is it possible? The minor I would like to switch to has no restrictions.
Anyone who is pursuing BBA in NUS. Indian international student would be preferred but anyone can help. I have some questions and queries if someone can assist me it would be very helpful. Thankyou.
I'll apply for a bachelor's degree at NUS next year. i heard that CS is the most in-demand program and got confused. in my country everybody wants to study computer engineering. looking at the graduate employment survey from 2022, it seems like CS majors make more than CE majors. what are the main differences between the two and which should i pick?
Hi everyone am a y1 CDE kid planning to take a minor in Data Analytics. While reading the minor requirements, i noticed that they encourage those taking a minor in DSA to read DSA3361 before DSA2101, even though DSA3361 is a 3k level mod and the topics seem to be closer to machine learning, which i will only take in year 2 sem 2. Does anyone know the reason why they want use to read DSA3361 before DSA2101 and will I run into any problems if i read DSA2101 first?
Btw, i will be taking GEA1000 and not DSA1101 as my major does not allow DSA1101 to count for the data literacy pillar :(
TLDR; DSA2101 before DSA3361 for DSA minor doable?
Cant believe 1 sem is ending soon. Meanwhile, I am still stuck at chapter 2 for most of my mods.
Sem 2 applications for accommodations are open and I plan to stay in house but since there is no meal plans offered, i’m wondering how much i’ll need monthly
Excluding the price of the room; how much do you spend on food, transportation, outings, ac bill & others per month ?
just wanted to know if NUS offered any on-campus highschool program in the summer. Or anything else i could do to boost my admission chances
Hi. I'm currently in the 11th grade looking to apply to nus for the BDS program. To everyone who's already studying, what were your grades, ECs, etc etc? (basically tips on getting in) (oh btw I'm from india)
Just had my 1010 practical and it’s ultra max cooked wtf. There’s 2 questions and we have to do in 1.5h. Almost finished qn 1 at about the 45min mark and realised that I screwed up a small part that affects the entire question, debugging will change everything. Passed 0 test case, tactical give up and moved on to question 2, stuck at the last part of qn 2 all the way until the exam ends, and the test cases needs all parts correct to pass. Ended up passing 0 test cases hahaha. The midterms was super easy with a very high median but the practical is ☠️ hope bell curve or finals will save me.
Did some research and realise that last part of qn 2 is the exact same as leet code 221 which should be considered easy. But I don’t think most people who just started coding for 10 weeks can think of the solution under exam condition without doing leet code. My general feeling about practical after hearing from my peers taking other 1010 variations is that it is really like an iq test that requires strong logic and some luck to do well, because you won’t have much time to debug so you need some luck to get your first approach right, if not you will probably spend the rest of the time figuring out new approach or debugging and end up passing 0 test case, but if your logic is very good then you don’t need luck. My TA also told us to plan our code first on paper but I find it difficult to pen down my thought process on the outline of the code.
Thought about higher level mods like 2030 and 2040, went through nusmods and the internet and realise that they are a lot more challenging than 1010. I’m already getting cooked by 1010 practical, how much more cooked will 2030 and 2040 be? At least I can SU my 1010 if I fk up but 2030 and 2040 can’t be SUed and I’m anticipating them to be way harder than 1010. I already did my best for 1010 practical, did all the past year papers given plus all the problem set practice questions. What should I do? Should I start grinding leet code now? Or hop on nootropics to boost my brain? I don’t think my brain can handle 2030 and 2040☠️
hi! im trying to apply for sep soon but unsure of where to look for the pre-approved real estate course mappings since Edurec only shows BBA mods, would appreciate it if seniors can share which Uni u went to for exchange and what RE mods did u manage to map, or perhaps where to the pre-approved list for RE. thank u!
Alternatively, what is the most unexpected thing in NUS that no one told you about?
Wondering if anyone studying on the MArch course could give me mini tour and opinions on the course teaching and culture? Was something I briefly considered before my Masters as I think the course has (had?) Part 2 RIBA accreditation and honestly just curious in the difference in teaching style compared to UK universities.
For context I’m studying my MArch at the University of Bath, having completed my undergraduate at the University of Liverpool and 2 years of Part 1 Architectural Assistant experience in London. Currently in Singapore visiting until the 10/11/24.
I have not been able to log into canvas and it shows that the page does not exist
Canvas is returning a 404, is it just me?
Could I get some tips on how to do better at this mod.
What the title says. Alternatively, what tips would you give to you when you were applying to nus
Planning to SU these 2 mods, was wondering how easy it is to simply pass them so I can SU and focus on my other mods. Personally more worried about MA1522 as I really don't understand the later topics at all. Literally just brute force trial and error alr...
From https://blog.nus.edu.sg/provost/2012/01/20/the-bell-curve/ it seems that generally only 1% will fail a mod, but was wondering whether my current grades are even safe, and does anyone know the general cutoff point to pass? I am assuming I will get 0% for both finals.
Currently, MA1522 Midterms 10/20 Homework 32/40 for both (I soloed) Quizzes 100%
MA1521 Quizzes 6/8 average for all 3 Homework 95%
I am interested in studying in NUS and had a question about mapping modules at a summer program. I am enquiring, which computer science modules can be mapped?
Are there NUS regulations in saying certain modules from the computer science course cannot be mapped?
Where to check how to do the mapping?
Hi guys wanted to ask if it’s possible to finish a degree in 3 years/ASAP. I am planning to take business analytics(single degree).I heard it’s possible to do mods before uni even starts will that help too? Thanks!
anyone heard back from Visa yet? Thank you!!
SGH has always been the flagship hospital in Singapore for nearly 200 years. Establishing the NUH in the 80s but still keeping most (if not all) tertiary/quaternary specialist services at SGH (and subsequently KKH) just doesn’t seem sensible. Anyone knows the logic behind????
Is there such a thing as a full time TA/tutor? I was a TA for the past 3 sems for different mods and somehow I enjoyed it (teaching students who are actually willing to listen/learn).
Can anyone advice on what to do to become one/whether such a position exist?
All my friends seem to be getting pretty awesome jobs in reputable companies, good benefits like 2 days WFH, nice office environment
CS grads are getting 5 6k at minimum as well
Meanwhile I could only land a 4k plus role, 5 day WFO, depressing looking office with just 5 people lol
Anyone in the same situation? Or know what it's like working in a tiny office with 5-6 people ?
Is there a group chat for exchange people heading to London, to ask about stuff and also about renting and housing.
Is there anybody going to London for summer school or semester exchange?
Question to seniors: what is the tightest grade boundaries if you do median for all assignments that are not supposed everyone to get full marks (I mean not weekly online quizzes and so on). I’m sure that it depends on class size. So can you share your experience like: I did median for all assignments for course C with class size S, and I got grade G.
Thanks
If theres any you've tried, let me know! Just trying to look for ways to make extra while studying that is low lift
