After becoming a fan through all his collaborations with Nujabes, my signed copy of Substantial’s latest record came in today.
This is a post from Facebook by Akin Yai (the other rapper who's featured on the song Feathers with Cise Star) regarding the streaming percentage splits that he didn't receive
For some reason I can only find the five deez remix for latitude. Does the non remix even exist or am I just not looking hard enough?

Does anyone know what the piano/horn/vocal sample is in Music is Mine? I know the percussion is from a Modern Jazz Quartet tune but there doesn't seem to be much information out there re the melodic parts.
The Associates - From The Ground Up (Nujabes Remix) l've never heard of the Associates before, but i saw this remix by Jun in one of my town store. Absolutely love it!

Is there any information? It's been a while since Freeform Jazz
What a surprise to see one of my favorite tennis players is also a dedicated fan of Nujabes. I just started listening to this recently and I have to say, it’s a really nicely curated compilation album - has most of my favorites and has a thoughtful and thematically coherent track order. Any of your thoughts on this?
For those who are interested, give it a listen:
I'll keep it short because I'm still shocked to my core.
I was at a very famous record shop in Tokyo searching for some Nujabes vinyls. After looking in one floor with no luck I went to the next one, where I see a special section dedicated to him. There I see two elder people and 2 or 3 younger ones mainly talking, so I stand there watching the albums from the distance when the younger one opens some space so I can get closer. When I do, the older man asks me if I like Nujabes, to which I responded that he's my favourite musician and that it's a dream for me to finally be here. When I say that his face lit, and with the most endearing pride I've seen, he tells me: "I'm his daddy".
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, in fact I had to ask him to repeat himself because I just couldn't process it. It was his father and his brother who were there. I travelled 40 hours to be here and on the day I randomly decided to visit this shop (because I seriously wasn't going there at all) I stumbled upon the family of the musician who shaped me the most.
After a small chat, the elderly woman gifted me two postcards: modal soul and metaphorical music. The father gifted me a handshake that I'll never forget. With teary eyes he thanked me, and with the little strength I had left I thanked him for his son.
I fear this is something I may forget in the future, so this (and the dozens of messages I sent my friends) will be proof in the future of the day I met my idol's idol.
Do these two songs share a sample?
I listen to both pretty often and it never really hit me on how similar that piano is.
I’m a big Nujabes and Substantial fan but only ever knew of Cise Star and Akin through their collabs on Nujabes’ projects. I picked up this copy of ‘Midas’ today in my local record store for £3 and all I can say is that I’ve been missing out, big time. Gave the full album a listen earlier and I can now confidently say I’ve got another rabbit hole of albums to get lost in.
Shit slaps I want to know who made it trying to find more stuff like this. Love
Obviously it's a quote from Vinland Saga but how did it originally become associated with Aruarian Dance? Samurai Champloo and Vinland Saga are very very different anime so it's kind of odd how that association would come to fruition.
super excited for this! wondering if anyone else is gonna be going to the jazz cafe tomorrow :)
Asking cause it said it's arriving in June but I guess there's no better option other than discogs and I can wait but how confident can I be it's gon be hq that things expensive
