When can we expect the NV56 with Nvidia and Qubes OS support ?

Been Looking to get Qubes OS certified machine for quite sometime. The NV56 seems to be a good choice. After reading up a bit about it, am interested to know if there will be NV56 variant that supports Nvidia anytime soon that is certified by Qubes OS (or at least supported by NovaCustom for running Qubes OS)

Linux: cannot write to USB storage drive – solution

There is one thing that has always been frustrating for me: using USB pen drives in Linux Mint. Quite often, the USB drive is not writable. It's time to solve this once and for all:

The worldwide cybersecurity breakdown concerning CrowdStrike and Windows Azure is another proof that technological monopolies are problematic.

The European Union should evaluate its dependencies and support administrations, businesses and citizens to run secure IT. To reach this goal, #SoftwareFreedom and #OpenTechSolutions are crucial.

Prevent battery draining while suspending with ME disabled (Linux)

Disabling the Intel Management Engine (ME) leads to battery draining in suspend mode due to modern standby (S0ix). In this guide, we will workaround this issue by setting up a suspend-then-hibernate policy.

📍 Gdańsk, Poland We took our new laptop series to 3mdeb in Gdańsk. At 3mdeb, they are currently developing Dasharo coreboot. A real challenge is to get the optional NVIDIA graphics card working. #coreboot #businesstrip

Origin of Hardware (Manufacturing Country besides Assembly Country)?

Hi, just stumbled over Nova Custom and it looks promising.

I was just wondering, since the framework manufactures in Taiwan and assembles in India, if I remember correctly, where Nova Customs

  • a) manufactures all of their components?
  • b) where assembly (of parts) happens?
  • c) does it use hardware partially from other manufacturers like Clevo or Tongfang?

Thanks, and keep up the good work of promoting the right to repair :)

Upgrading battery for nv41

Is it possible to fit a higher watt hour battery into the nv41?

I found where I could potentially order one on clevo's website, but I don't see any documentation for what size or connector the nv41 uses, so I'm don't know which one to get if any.

If the one already in it is the biggest one possible, I would like to make it known that a more power efficient processor option would be awesome in the future. Any modern processor will suit my needs just fine, (besides an i3 maybe. Ew) But I vastly prioritize battery life, so an i5u would really neat I think that option especially makes sense for the smallest laptop option like the nv41

The battery life is honestly the deciding factor between this and the lemur pro from system76
