Hey I'm a second year uni student at ntu and haven't had the best experience so far at making friends, feel like Im wasting away my uni years and want to meet new people. If anyone else is a student here or just aged 19-24ish and enjoy going out, pubs, shopping and games nights let me know!
Morning everyone! A friend of mine, Sarah Cunningham, has gone missing in London. If you have any friends in London, especially around Camden please share. Crime ref is added at the bottom of the pic.
I'm looking for a hall to hire in Nottingham (Arnold, Carlton, Gedling way) for Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd, and half a day Sunday 4th of May next year but not having any luck. Could anyone recommend a place. Needs to have capacity for 100 people, tables and chairs, kitchen, and allow us to serve out own alcoholic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated TIA
Edit: abilty to do out own catering is needed too
Sounds random I know, I had a bio active vivarium for my snake but decided to go back to a more traditional set up, in the process I recovered some orange isopods (woodlice) in the process and have kept in separately ever since.
Well now they’re breeding like mad and I must have at least a 100.
Anyone want any? They’re free and relatively easily to take care of, or you could just feed them to an animal if they eat them.
Can not be released into the wild tho as they would likely die and are non-native anyway.
This sounds ridiculous but me and my dad go to a bar every Monday called penny lane, it’s at lace market, in here there’s a game were you shot lasers at bottles he got the high score a while ago of 89 and nobody has beat it since, he’s enjoying coming less because he has no challenge to beat, have a good time!
i've seen a couple of these types of posts so thought i'd chuck my hat in the ring.
Im 25M who enjoys rock, pubs, going out. reading, gaming, autistic chatter about random things.
i've recently lost my only couple of friends in nottingham and just got out of an abusive relationship. honestly i've never felt so unworthy. i'm just looking for some cool people interested in similar things to meet and connect with along my healing journey.
feel free to msg me,
Want to get a mate a diwali card (ik it's late but I haven't seen them) ik places like card factory will do them, but where can I get a nicer one?
No chance anyone has two unwanted tickets for the Radcliffe fireworks fiesta tomorrow? Happy to pay. Completely forgot to buy them and now I’m sad 😔
Sorry it’s a very specific and probably stupid question, but does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere in the city centre where they do the above, or even a cheese board please?
(I’m not overly clued up when it comes to good places to eat in town, sorry)
Thanks for any help!
I’ve heard some confusion about access to Nottingham train station from the side entrance. Some people suggested installing ticket barriers on the bridge, but this wouldn’t be possible since the bridge is a public right of way, open for public use.
While platform access is restricted (except for Platform 7), additional security measures have been implemented to ensure that only valid travelers access the platforms. Non-ticketed individuals can still use the bridge solely to cross from one side to the other.
Looking for some cool view points in Nottingham that I can view fireworks from. All the events are sold out so thinking of alternatives...
Off to the fireworks at the racecourse tonight but never been before and wondering about parking. It seems there is on site parking but I assume that will be full by the time we get there. Google maps suggest there’s nearby street parking; do the roads get full also? Any other recommendations of where to park?
I'm looking for some really interesting/quirky things to visit in Nottingham. Not the usual shit the Nottingham post always include in their articles. Stuff that is either visually interesting, or there's some historical element that makes it interesting. Feel like I've run out of things to visit now. It can be a pub, restaurant, some obscure part of a building, an activity - literally anything
Hii, I’m a 2nd year student in Nottingham and I’ve been struggling to make friends.
I like gaming (mainly pc), animals, colouring, walks, reading. I’m also open to trying anything new!
Only interested in talking to other girls. Feel free to message me
Hi everyone, I was looking if anyone is selling for the bonfire night at Trent Bridge tonight? I am willing to buy. Thank you in advance!
Anyone looking to play cEDH on a regular basis in Nottingham? Underworld and Dice Cup are both good options. I've got a couple of decks (heavily proxied!) that I'm happy to share, or I'm 100% on board with proxies if you want to play with your own. Weekday evenings would be best for me.
My partner and I are relocating to Nottingham from Surrey as it’s a good spot in the middle of the country between both our families. We’re trying to figure out a where about would be a good spot to look for housing.
My partner’s new role will be at Phoenix Park, so we’ve been exploring along the tramline that runs through there to Clifton South in hopes for an easy commute. At first we were considering looking for a house but are concerned we’d have to go fairly far out from the city centre for this, and we want to be in range of stuff going on. We’re in our mid twenties and currently live in a quiet area that we’ve grown to find a little dull, so don’t want to fall into the same trap.
Do you have any suggestions for good areas to search in? Happy to give more info if I’ve been too vague, just feeling a little overwhelmed given neither of us know too much about the area.
Budget wise we’re currently paying more than we’d like in the south at ~1500per month so considering this an upper limit. Not sure what the going rate is around here but something closer to 1000 per month would be great.
Thanks!
Giving away my train ticket from nottingham to leeds on monday the 4th, respond if you want it, plans fell through because i’m sick and i don’t want it to go to waste 💔
Hello everyone, is there any bonfire happening in beeston tonight ? I’ve never been and would love to see what it’s like.
Any suggestions in Nottingham would be great too
Hello all, anybody know of any fireworks displays on the above date. Sadly working on the 5th so won’t be able to get to one.
I used to go to Blackwoods on Hucknall road but not sure if it’s still going or on tomorrow.
Thanks in advance!
I’ve currently got a cold at the moment and was thinking back to something my grandad used to say whenever I’d say I was ill as a kid.
He grew up nearer to Mansfield so I don’t know if it’s something more from around those ends or if it’s just something he completely made up but he’d always ask me if I thought it was “galloping payaka” and then when I’d ask what that is, he’d say it’s “like (blank)” - with the blank being another seemingly made up illness.
I’d then ask what that is and he’d go in a loop saying that blank is like galloping payaka and so on and so forth.
The blank was always the same though but I can’t remember what it was. I was wondering if anybody else who grew up in Notts had ever heard this saying and knew what the blank was or if it’s something he just completely made up?
EDIT: I managed to find the answer to what the blank was - “gormon ruttles”, still have no idea whether it’s a real saying something he concocted tho lmao
Hi. My daughter has bought a 12 month robin hood season card for tram, bus and train travel. Silly question perhaps but how does she use it when she is getting on and off public transport? Does she "tap it" getting on and off? The card has no magnetic strip and seems to be pure plastic with a photo and name on it. Any ideas?
Does anyone wanna hang out just for friends ? My interests are ; gaming , tv series , going to places , etc .. Im open to trying new things .
Feeling pretty isolated and there doesn’t seem many opportunities to meet people other than going to bars / clubs and drinking and even then I don’t have anyone to go with .
I’m not a student , I’m currently unemployed
