Hi, for anyone looking for something to get themselves out of the house more now the nights are darker, I run the Nottingham Juggling and Circus Skills Club. It's less of a formal club, more a small group of juggling and circus skills (poi, diabolo, hula hooping etc.) enthusiasts who meet every couple of weeks for a casual practice session. All abilities are welcome and there will be kit available to borrow.
We meet at Sherwood Methodist Church from 7-9pm, first Wednesday of the month, the next meeting is the 4th December. There's a facebook group where I post more regularly about session times etc.
Any questions give me a shout, and if you know anyone who might be interested then please let them know as I'm trying to grow the community :-)
This is really awkward and there's a slim chance, but I need help😠I ordered something online and accidentally entered the wrong postcode, I've tried getting in contact with both the original store and the delivery place, but I've had 0 response from both
If anyone knows any contact information about someone living in NG4 0ZZ, please let me know
TIL you can hang glide in Notts.
I can tell a Nottingham accent apart from a Mansfield one, a Leicester one, and even those pesky folk (I'm joking) from Ilkeston (or Ilson as they insist on calling it), but I can't tell the difference between Nottingham and Derby.
I'm sure there is one, but can anyone pinpoint the difference?
I'd like to he able to go on dates and meet people but as a trans woman I often find that difficult, what are my options in Nottingham? Are there places that do meet ups or clubs or anything where I might meet potential dates?
Hello guys, I am new to notts and i ordered a parcel through BoohooMan. Unfortunately the order didn’t fit me and i wanted to return it. I have placed a return order online and kind of confused where do i find the royal mail post office to print the receipt. Just for information i live in The Park. Any offices near me or do i have to go to victoria centre?
Includes Santa's Grotto, Market stalls, and café! 14th December 2024
Pretty much the title, I’m looking to get goddess braids as I have type 3 hair and currently seeing 0 hair growth so a protective hairstyle might hopefully help. Where’s the best place to get braids for reasonable pricing? Thank you!
I drive through Sherwood a couple of times a week and have noticed lots of flowers tied to a fence near the school, opposite the petrol station on Hucknall Road. There always seems to be people there paying their respects and this week there are even more flowers. Does anyone know what happened there?
Anyone round bottom of Porchester rd/Carlton area hear a rooster kicking off at 5am every morning? Any ideas where it's coming from?
Surprised no one mentioned this place.
I have spare tickets for Shed Seven at the Engine Shed, Lincoln, Tuesday 3rd December. DM me if interested.

My partner and I are wanting to take our toddler somewhere for their birthday in February but are struggling to find somewhere special enough and age appropriate. They are under 95cm which eliminates most theme parks. Prepared to travel an hour. Any recommendations would be good thank you

Hi all! My friends and I are from oxfordshire in the south east and we recently watched fontaines DC live on Wednesday, and during our time in nottingham we were talking about moving here, therefore I am just curious to see which are the best and worst districts to live in, I'm talking rent, crime employment and amenities etc. Two of us are 24 turning 25 and the other two are 26 turning 27.
I have heard from other redditors and facebook groups that broxtowe, st anns, radford, forest fields clifton and hyson green are pretty bad areas, we also drove through the meadows estate unintentionally and found ourselves by the Risley drive area. Anyways if anybody can advise us on what are the good areas and bad areas, we'd be really grateful as we adore the city and the friendliness of the people!
Cheers!:)
I'm interested in finding out more about Nottingham's history, particularly pre-modern history. Can anyone recommend any good books about Nottingham history?
Hi, I am an international student currently pursuing PhD programme in Uni of Nottingham. I received a letter from who I believe a collection agent on behalf of Nottingham City Council. It says that on the letter that I need to pay certain amount of money for council tax. I have been living in Nottingham as an international student for the past 7 years, but this is the first time I received such a letter. I have applied for the council tax exemption through Nottingham City council, what would happen next? Does anyone have similar case? Really need suggestions here since this drives me worried. Cheers everyone!
My daughter's car was side swiped by a hit and run driver around 4am this morning in Carlton...well this, and a neighbour's car. Each car is on the cusp of a uneconomical write-off.
My daughter is now unable to do her care work (and earn) until the repair is assessed which might provide a courtesy car. She also has the 'uninsured', no fault claim, excess shenanigans, to go through.
If anyone in the locale with a bodyshop is aware of a light coloured vehicle being brought in for repairs to the front nearside, the police would be happy to eliminate it from their enquiries. A DM would be treated with the strictest confidence.
Hey Nottingham pals.
My partner has been running a little competition on Instagram to win a free tattoo. There's no hidden catch, promise! He wants the opportunity to do more black & grey fineline realism like the above and thought Christmas was a nice time to give a little away, so he's simply choosing whoever suggests the one he'd most like to do. Generally cartoon characters work best for the vibe he's going for but the possibilities are endless 😎
Go to his page @spookitattoo on Instagram and read the post carefully to see what you need to do (very straight forward, just make your suggestion and tag a couple of mates)
Announcing the winner this evening so it's really the last call to action today!
Happy 1st December 🖤
So we have to apply for a school place for our kid in January. You have to put up to 4 preferred schools in order of preference (but aren’t guaranteed to get any of them).
I was wondering what the best strategy might be on the preferences. Our catchment school is decent but not amazing. If we put it 1st preference we’d probably get in. But a little beyond the catchment are two better, but oversubscribed schools.
My question is: since those schools are oversubscribed and you might not get in even if you’re in the catchment, is there any point listing them as our 1st and 2nd prefs? Could doing so actually harm us if the local school then gets filled with people who DID put it 1st while we only put it 3rd, so we end up getting sent somewhere random/worse instead?
Or am I overthinking it? What’s the best way to play it? Any advice from someone who actually knows how the council does the allocations would be very welcome!
Planning to meet up with friends for a pre Christmas drink at the pub.
Having Autistic Spectrum and some hearing lost needing a basic hearing aid I'd prefer a pub where there isn't blaring background music so we can chat - I am aware not going to the pub might be easier.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I had a quick look around the Christmas market yesterday with my daughter and the food prices were shocking. I'm not a tight man at all but I'm thinking about not taking the family this year because it's just not worth the money anymore. I didn't see the price's for the rides but I'm guessing they are ridiculous in price too
It’s becoming more and more blaintly obvious that the police and council spending is messed up. The police are driving around in 74 plate brand new cars when money could be spend elsewhere.
One example of where the budget could be spent is community centres, which have seen significant budget cuts and closures.
My theory is that if u educate the youth outside of school by giving them mentors and someone to guide them down the right path without trying to criticise them then naturally they will do better and make better moral decisions. Meaning that then in the future years the need for more hands on policing will gradually decrease.
Why are community centres being disregarded when it is clear we are living in a time of increasing crime rate with no sign of slowing down any time soon.
Am I wrong in thinking this or is my thought process logical?
