Looking for an alternative to Junkyard Market for obvious reasons and unfortunately, YALM is fully booked. TIA
Hey! British chap here with family heritage rooting from Norway. I’m currently studying the language and would love love love to make Norwegian friends, both in support of having conversation in Norwegian as well as simply making new friends!
Online friends or in-person, all good with me!
Taxis are awful in Norwich and I have no idea why it’s so bad, all the apps are terrible, no one answers the phone and you are even waiting at the airport. Any ideas on good taxi forms for the future would be appreciated.
Is it fairly straightforward to run say from Cromer to Yarmouth?
Without having to go on roads, or run directly on the beach itself?
Does anyone know how long the waiting list is? As much as it’s been painful watching them recently with the smorgasbord of injuries…I’m very much tempted.
Wondering if anyone has any pictures of the now closed hollywood cinemas, specifically of the life sized statues they used to display, or any information about them? Have looked online but no images include the statues.
If I wanted to cook a big batch of something like chilli con carne and offer it to anyone who was skint or not eating healthy or maybe a low income or busy family’s, could I do that? Like would I have to have a licence or anything like that?
I rly enjoy cooking, I think I’m good at the meals I do cook. I can spend a £5 or £10 at Aldi n get so many cans of good healthy food. So if I wanted to and then I could say on here n Facebook that anyone who wants or needs food gimme a dm. Is there any legal issue I’m not seeing?
My girlfriend and I just moved into a flat in the city together and we’re looking to get a cat! We’d rather adopt as this is what both of us have done before but it’s really hard to find a place around here that has cats that can live indoors fully! Any suggestions are much appreciated?
My family isn't Christian and we don't celebrate Christmas. When I was a kid, we typically ate at a Chinese or Indian place for lunch on Christmas Day. We moved to Norwich a couple of years ago, and it's a bit less diverse than my hometown but we had a nice Indian meal at Spice Valley at lunchtime on 25/12 last year. Does anyone know of any other restaurants which are open on Christmas Day for lunch but aren't offering traditional Christmas foods? Happy to go back to Spice Valley if not 😊 EDIT: I'm not looking for "ethnic" places that jazz up their menu for Christmas parties, but a place that is open on Christmas Day lunchtime that is offering their usual menu. EDIT 2: If you think that minorities should just stay home on days that aren't for them, perhaps reflect on why that is such a problematic perspective.
Thanks!
Is there anyone who either worked at or frequently visited any of the blockbuster video stores in Norwich and could tell me more about them, e.g when they closed and what it was like.
Can anyone recommend a nail place or tech that does gel x nails? Thank you 😊
Does any one know of any shops in Norwich that might sell some Taylor swift wrapping paper?
I’ve got a swiftie in secret Santa and I don’t want to buy online I was wondering if anyone knew of any random shops in Norwich that sells stuff like this? Really silly question I know but don’t know where else to ask, thanks
Does anybody know of a pub in Norwich showing the England v South Africa rugby match this weekend? (16/11/24)
Has anyone been to it?. I know people come from all over for it. Is it any good or more like a panto?
I know it’s a bit early for the C word but - myself and my housemate are having a bit of a hard time lifewise and I want to cheer us up by decorating our house for Christmas.
I’ve suggested we check out charity shops, craft shops etc for decorations as we want to make them ourselves! So if anyone could suggest the best places to find secondhand/vintage decorations, or cheap baubles, fabric etc that would be amazing 😇
We also like novelty baubles like the ones seen in Flying Tiger so something like that would be great too ☺️
You know Cosmos, the one next to Mountain Warehouse? They have this little robot cat there and my little nephew absolutely loves the thing. Does anybody know if there are any others of them in/near Norwich?
Apparently it's meant to be a service robot but Cosmo won't let it wait tables for safety reasons, I'd really love to take my nephew to a place where his favourite robot can come to our table :) Would make his day
I've noticed recently there are loads of flats for sale on the St Stephens Pavilion block of flats. Anyone know if there's anything up with the place? The service charge is pretty bad, but are there other horrors that lurk?
Any recommendations for a place to get a watch strap adjusted?
I got married at the weekend and as a wedding gift my husband ( that still feels weird) had a portrait of our first dog (now sadly passed) commissioned by one of our favorite artists.
She works with pastels on valour paper and I'm looking to get him framed and mounted by an experienced framer.
Anyone got any personal recommendations of people you've used?
Thanks in advance.
Hey Norwich folks!
Can anyone recommend a surveyor? I’ve had a hunt around and google reviews are helpful but it’s also good to get second opinions!
Cheers!
Has anyone got experience of getting a tooth implant in Norwich?
I know I am going to have to pay a lot to get a good fix for a front tooth, so could do with the some help to find the best dentist.
EDIT: Thank you to people who have answered. But it would be good to have some seconding as well. Please give an upvote if your experience with these dentists makes it appropriate.
Every pub i go in seems to have taken Aspalls off tap and replaced with some mediocre alternative ?
As per title folks, my MIL needs a bit of help round the house so looking for a cleaner who covers NR2. Would be weekly.
I don't think the recent posts about having an actual newspaper with real journalists or about everything in here ending up in their publication has gone down very well

We see you.....
Will anyone be getting tickets for this? Seen a few bad reviews plus some instagram ads that are clearly stock video from other companies.
Hi 27f, I'm moving to Norwich in a few weeks, my partner is from round here so he has a few friends, i dont know any one, and im worried that I'll feel a little bit lonely, im into video games, going round charity shops going for coffee and food so if anyone would like to hang or chat it would be very much appreciated.
