Mates

Being in late 30s, being through some stuff....eff me, it's hard to make friends. Man, I sound lame. But MH, living rural, and all that....sigh. yes, this is a reach to kinda make friends. (Yes, this is a sad reach out, I am aware) south norfolk but from the city. Any groups suggested?

Winter walks in Norfolk without the mud?

Does anyone have any suggestions for winter walks in Norfolk which are either paved, or else won't be too muddy? I'm trying to get my kids out and about this Winter for walks, but they don't want to endure getting too dirty.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Airbnb hosting

Is anyone an Airbnb host in Norwich? I have a spare room and am wondering about doing that rather than getting a lodger. Is there much demand?

Anyone driving to London on Boxing Day morning?

Hey I hope this is okay to post, need to get to Croydon, or anywhere in London vicinity on Boxing Day morning. I can supply nice chats, silence or anything inbetween. As well as some food/petrol money!

Would be a day after Christmas miracle.

Norwich fishers

Should you be on the Nuffield side of the wensum between there and blackfriars Bridge and are approached by "Jarrold security" and told you can't fish here its private, IT IS NOT stand your ground if they threaten police let them. I had this experience today after someone said look out if security passes, they are breaking multiple laws and as confirmed by police have no right to tell you to move or go away. If you want to fish or magnet fish in that area you have every right to do so, it IS public and NOT private, the more people that allow the police to arrive the more they will stop hassling you and others. Also the guard you see ask for their SIA badge and take a photo of it, they will tell you thats illegal it is NOT, and tell them you will report them (up to you if you do or not) Hope this helps fishermen of both hobbies

I'm just going by maps and what I've been told when the police arrived, if people are just going to "bash" me for making what I see as a valid post, then I'll just remove it. If it is actually private then there should be signs and possibly one of those map things along the route showing "their" legal boundaries if they are that bothered by people fishing.

rude children on Newmarket

i was parking my car on Newmarket street the other week and there were two boys (primary school age, probably between 8-11 defo no older) in the entrance to the car park. i had indicated and stopped waiting for them to move, but they continued to block the entrance. they were holding a cola bottle, and one boy was shaking it up and spraying it everywhere. i was waiting for them to move so i could get by but they wouldn’t so i gave a gentle beep on my horn (had my dog in the car so didn’t want to beep too loud as he hates it). the boy turned around, shouted at me and jumped in front of my car!! he was waving his hand shouting at me and genuinely thought he might kick my car or something! my girlfriend was in the car and she flipped him off (can’t lie, not mature but it was funny) and he finally moved out the way, probably shocked an adult would swear at him.

i’m only in my early 20’s and i’m starting to feel old complaining about “youths”, but i work in a school so i feel i have a right lol. they are getting so rude! sorry for the negativity in the thread lol but was just shocked! :0

Help! What was that old restaurant on Chapelfield Plain?!?

Ok so I’m driving myself nuts with this one. When Chapelfield first opened there was a restaurant on Chapelfield Plain that we went to all the time for works dos etc, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. It was where The Real Greek is now. I know it was Giraffe before that, but I’m talking even before that, when what is now GBK was Mackintosh’s Canteen. I remember they did really decent burgers. Help!

Pokemon card collecting?

Is anyone interested in Pokemon TCG collecting? Not playing - I know some of the board game cafés host games.

I'd like to meet up with people who share the hobby, as I have no one IRL to talk to about it.

There's a card fair in Norwich in Feb, so I assume there are some of us about.

Does anyone know of anywhere that will have plenty of space for a wheelchair/ easy access toilets as I'm completely spacing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I would like to feel normal for a night

Thanks so much and Merry Christmas!

Where to buy Calvin Klein underpants

Hi there

I'm wondering where I can go in Norwich that sells CK underwear? The recipient has tried many types and brands of underwear and reluctantly found that there are the only ones that are comfortable! I feel like I would have looked in Debenhams, if it was open 🤔

Thanks

Best place to get a second hand car?

Needing to get a car in the new year, what are the most reasonably priced and legit car dealers in town? On a low budget so not talking about anything flashy!

Parking a large van in the city

I usually park a van in the car park on St Botolphs Street by the big dilapidated office building near Anglia Square. I just read that the area is being redeveloped (a very good thing) but I was wondering where I would be able to park a big van in the city now. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Restaurant Recs

Looking for a nice place to go with the family tomorrow night for a birthday.

My family aren't particularly adventurous people, typical English food is what they usually go for, but I'd like to try a small local place instead of a chain for once!

Any suggestions would be fantastic!

Looking for interior car cleaning service

Hi guys,

Looking for a deep clean of the inside of my hatchback. Obviously I’ve looked on google but there’s a lack of before and after photos/details of exactly what they do. I would like an interior shampoo and hoover of seats and mats, proper clean under the seats and rails and that’s it really as I could do the windscreen and dash pretty well. Any recommendations for the sub 100 Pound mark would be appreciated :)
