I know open carry is legal in ND, is it pretty common? With it being a rural state.
Hi. I was doing some research about universities and I really like NDSU and UND, mostly due to costs.
I would be an international student and I'd be interested in a double major. For UND it'd be biomedical engineering or molecular & integrative biology + political science or global studies. For NDSU it would be biochemistry and molecular biology or biological sciences + international studies or global studies or political science (yeah, still a bittt uncertain). All undergraduate.
If I'd end up working further with my biology related degree it would ideally be in research, the other would be for government agencies (even if it sounds stupid I promise there is thought behind it and plans that just there's no point getting into haha)
Right now my GPA is around 3,5 (if I calculated it correctly) and no SATs. TOEFL to be done.
Maybe someone would be able to tell me something about these courses or the university in general? A penny for your thoughts? Much appreciated.
We currently live in MI, we have 3 little ones and are just ready to try some place new but everywhere seems so much more expensive than Michigan. With our jobs, we can pretty much work from anywhere but would have a budget around $300k for a house…. The places my husband would be making the most is North Dakota, Maine, Idaho and Oregon…. They all seem super expensive, but we are heavily considering ND, as it fits our lifestyle more. can anyone give some suggestions of areas to look into? We aren’t really city people and don’t mind living in a more rural spot
They’ve created a sheet for every state. This primarily describes social programs. I wish it addressed the impact on farms and energy production.
It's no secret that North Dakota isn't known for its pizza. However, for those who have traversed the state, where can one get the best pizza?
Why NHL 21 instead of NHL 25?
I’m visiting from Austin for the holiday. Have a family member attending UND. ND so far has been very charming and I’ve enjoyed my previous visit during the spring. This time I was so excited to get out of the pesky heat we’ve been enduring back home. However, I’ve been noticing most folks around here wearing really only a hoodie and jeans to get around town despite the single digit weather. All the while I’m wearing flannel, a vest, a soft shell jacket with hood, fleece jacket, gloves and a beanie and I’m still freezing my ass off.
I saw a kid in shorts and crocs earlier today and I was floored. How?! Is it just an acclimation thing?
Am I missing something? Like maybe everyone is wearing thermals under their shirts and jeans? Are the boots insulated? Or is it a grin and bear it thing?
Either way, I’m still enjoying myself around here and everyone has been friendly.
Im a fisherman by heart and im just curious if there any Largemouth Bass nearby Bottineau county. I have never caught one before.
We don’t celebrate thanksgiving, just here for a movie. Looking for lunch before it, google isn’t very useful. Is there anything open right now?
Does anyone have any recommendations of affordable wedding venues in Western ND? We are estimating between 100-150ish guests, and want to try to stay under 5k between venue and catering... We have family that will be traveling for the wedding, so near an airport is ideal! Also open to ideas in Eastern Montana. Must be within 7 hours of Fargo area though. We are thinking April or May 2026, but price is a bit deciding point ultimately.
Hour and a half so far for a title change, i should have made a retirement investment so i can cash it when i leave.
Anyone travel yet today?
Where and when should I go? What is fun to do and cool to see in North Dakota?
Big boy bunny that lives under my shed trying to get some sun.
I don't know if I can post this here, but I'm doing a project where I set a minimum population that each county has to have, and then I merge those that have less than this threshold until they exceed it. So, I would like to know from you if my mergers make sense and if I should keep the names already on the map or if I should change them
The threshold here was 12,000, but it could change to 10,000 if necessary
Thanks
Williston to Minneapolis
A group of friends planned to make a long drive out of state to Minneapolis to watch a game on the 27th. With the current weather, will it be safe to make that long drive? Are there any travel restrictions on that day?
Hi!
If you had to choose to live in Wyoming or ND which one and tell me why?
I’m liking the idea of ND but my only reservation was minimal skiing… but I feel like ND is so pretty and I really feel comfy when I visit there. I know I can access skiing not too far away.
Thoughts? Thank you in advance 😊
