Hey guys! The other day I posted some questions about gaming in Niger and I am grateful for the answers that I have gotten, however there’s a couple questions that I still have. They are:
In what years did gaming become a thing there?
Was it in the 2000-2003 era or 2004-05?
Were video games a thing there before 2000?
Thanks again for your answers!!!
Recently discovered a song by Etran de L'Aïr titled Imouha, and I really want to know the meaning of the word in English, can anyone help me?
Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Niger. My questions are:
What is more popular? PC or console?
What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?
What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!
What do racing game fans in Niger play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)
In general, what games are played there?
Thanks for your responses!!!!

Hello Niger! I am doing a cooking challenge in which I cook food from a different country each week. Niger is coming up soon and I am looking for help working out what to make. Throughout the week, I have time to make a few main dishes, as well as sides, breakfast, snacks, and maybe dessert.
So far, I am interested in making:
Djerma stew
Dounguouri soko
Dambou
Please let me know what I should add to this list. I would also love any links to authentic recipes if you have them. Thank you!
Wanted to see if there were any Americans who’ve applied for/received a tourist visa for Niger within the past few months, and what the overall turnaround time was for that?
I’m planning on going to Niger with a small group at the end of this month and was originally told our fixer can get the visa for me and I didn’t have to apply at the embassy. However, toward the end of August I was then told that this actually is not possible and I’d have to apply the regular way. I went the next day to the embassy in DC to drop off the application, and they said my passport should be back in time but no guarantees. I’ve tried calling and emailing the embassy for an update but they are a bit hard to get ahold of - the phone just rings forever or I get a busy tone.
If anyone has recent experience with this or can tell me how long they waited for the visa to come back I’d really appreciate it, getting a bit nervous about having to rebook flights and everything.
Night landing in Niamey
Hello friends,
I’m planning on visiting Niger, Niamey and agadez specifically. I would like to meet locals in these cities that are fluent in English. I have many questions I’d like to ask. I’d appreciate for anyone to reach out.
Thank you.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the lyrics to the song "Surbajo" by Les Filles de Illeghedad. I've been searching online but haven't had any luck.
I was able to find on thir bandcamp a short part of the song :
Original Lyrics | English Translation |
---|---|
Madamzana tofa igarakanadonassnen danag garwantahan MilowlawanMadzana as chenanet ar mezaki nmassdaranijakadnet ogdan ad lawaghanEguess adashwanen tallagwen | What am I going to tell you?She is more beautifulthan white cloudsfilled up from the great oceanswhere the lightning shines. What can I say about her teeth, which are brilliantly white. Her hair is as long asthe stem of a treefull of water and bending. |
Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics or could possibly help me with them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi people of Niger, my name is Tijmen, a reporter for the Dutch newspaper Trouw. This summer I'm covering heat / high temperatures all over the world, and I'm really curious about stories from you. Is the summer a bit bearable there? How do the temperatures affect daily life? Please share your experiences – and send me a PM if you're open to a short video interview.
Hi I was wondering how safe Maradi is for foreigners specifically Americans.
Does anyone have the full video of this song.
L'armée Nationale Nigérienne Chanson - Tchakou Tchakou
Please DM me.
Thank you for your help
Hi, is Niamey safe to visit these days? What about as an American? Assuming French is a no go but it seems anti American sentiment is on the rise too and there have been some demonstrations? Planning to do a boat ride on the river and possibly have a family teach about Gerewol and do a small performance.
I’d have a local guide as well
Do you know why in 2021 coal consumption decreased a lot? there was some in issue in any power plant or coal mine?
Hello my dear brothers and sister. Im doing a research of cost of living in Niger and I would really appreciate it if I got some volunteers to help me with some questions. I would like to know the cost of daily essential market products. Things like the cost of water, wheat, cooking oil, olive oil, pasta, soda drinks, juice, tomato paste, soap, shampoo, etc...
I would greatly appreciate any help. You can comment the prices of things you know or you can message me and we can talk further. I want to know how much these grocery market products cost in Niger, and usually from which countries are they imported or if they're locally made. You can give me the price in CFA.
And just to make sure of soemthing. 1$ is 600CFA right?
Hi there just wondering if anyone knows of any Niger restaurants in USA or Canada. Thanks.
I was looking into terrestrial fiber connectivity in Africa and noticed a lack of overland routes between Northern and Southern Africa in general.
There's connectivity to the border at In-Guezzam, Algeria but does it cross to Arlit in Niger (forgive my spelling)
I'm asking because maps might not be the ground truth
