Napping spots

I’m a Canadian commuter student and I have a 2 hour break between classes, so I’m looking for a nice spot to nap other than my car. Any suggestions?

M.S.Ed Program Incoming Students :)

Hi! I realize this group hasn’t been active in some time, but I’m throwing this out there anyways. I’m a Canadian student starting the Master of Science in Education program at Niagara University (the online Teacher Ed program). Anyways, I’m looking to get connected with other people that are starting the same program :) Feel free to send me a message, maybe we can get a WhatsApp group going!

Paraprofessional Program (Teacher’s College)

Hi, I am looking to apply for the Paraprofessional Program in Niagara University. This program is different from the BPS Ontario Teacher Education Program. As the paraprofessional program offers night school. If there is anybody that can help me with applying for this program I would appreciate it as the program is nowhere listed on the application page. I emailed somebody about it and she just led me back to the application form on the website. Thanks

Accepted student

Hi! I was recently accepted to Niagara and I was wondering what it’s like on campus? What are some of your favorite things about the school and what are some of your least favorite things? Any info is helpful! Thanks!

Masters of Science in Education at NU

Hey everyone! I am currently a student at York University and I am looking into applying to the Masters of Science in Education program at NU. I want to teach at the intermediate/senior level with mathematics and physics as my teachables and the Masters program really seems interesting to me! However, I am not sure how the process to get my Ontario certification works. If anyone knows about that or even the program in general it would mean a lot to me!

Thank you!

Thoughts on Niagara University?

I’m a grade 12 from Ontario who got accepted into Niagara University for psychology and I was just wondering what those of you who attend think of the school? Is it fun, or is it boring? Because in Ontario my top choice is Western which is known for its vibrant social scene and despite the fact that I’m not a huge partier, I would love for a school that has parties or just generally stuff to do. Also, how is the quality of education? Do you enjoy your professors and courses? I also heard its a super white school. Is this true? I’m not asking in a bad way, I just heard the surrounding town is mainly white so thus the university is too(?)

What is the student body here like?

So I just got accepted into NU, and was wondering what it was like here at Niagara. Is it a sporty, theater, gaming, etc. type crowd? Do people tend to focus more on partying or academics? what are the most popular clubs/ Greek life? etc.

Anyone here from Canada/Ontario that has taken NU's Teacher's College program?!

Hey everyone,

I know this subreddit is kind of dead, but apparently as of right now there are about ~6 lurkers here at the moment, so I thought I would just post in hopes of getting a reply.

I was recently told about Niagara University's teacher's college program, well their Ontario Teacher Education program. I was considering this as an option, and just wanted to get feedback from people who are currently in the program, or perhaps have already completed it.

I was wondering if, since this is a United States based university, if what is taught in the teacher's program corresponds to American teaching? (I wouldn't think so since it's Ontario-based, but I just want to make sure). I think the price point is also a bit extreme (30k for 2 years is pretty steep).

Basically, I think I'm just looking for people to share their experiences with me, so I can decide if I should bite the bullet and apply or just stick with my Teacher's College application for York.

Thanks in advance!

The Apartment search begins.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some quality/ affordable rentals in the NU area. Craigslist has been very light with the turnout in this area. Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of rental complexes that they know of. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Unofficial Dorming Hall Gloating Thread

Lynch Hall is best hall, it's even named after the University's founder. Quieter than any other building and we have a kickass basement.

College hockey fans?

Hey NU people. If you're into hockey, supporting your Purple Eagles NCAA D1 team (who are having an awesome year), or are just looking for a new sub to check out, please give r/collegehockey a try. I'll admit, I'm an RIT alum, but I'm trying to increase the population of Atlantic Hockey fans so come give it a look!
