The celebration and discovery of new wave music from the 70's and 80's.
Our subreddit community is for the celebration & discovery of new wave music from the 70's and 80's (e.g. posting music), new wave revival, new wave covers of new wave music + related news and discussion.
New wave is a genre of rock music popular in the late 1970s and the 1980s with ties to mid-1970s punk rock. New wave moved away from blues and rock and roll sounds to create rock music (early new wave) or pop music (later) that incorporated disco, mod and electronic music.

Went back and forth a dozen times deciding what other tune to post..lot of great ones. Opted for Up Against The Wall off their 3rd lp Headlines.
Not really obscure..they were my favorite New Wave band. Actually heard them for the first time..on AM radio..WBZ Boston I believe. Their first release Hey St Peter actually go decent airplay. I bought th lp the day I heard the song and loved them. Got all my friends into them as well. Wasn't planning on posting Hey St Peter as I thought it was a decent hit. But I've been proved wrong before ...Payolas. I checked charts and even Hey St Peter was NOT a big hit. So for that sake..here it is...to be followed up by the tune by them I was originally going to post.

A true obscurity..came across the 3 song EP in a record shop in Providence in the 80s. Often bought stuff that I had no clue what it was. Found out they were British..short lived. This came in in 1980. Cocktails at Six
