Reminiscing

I started this subreddit 8yrs or so ago because there wasn’t one for Neo’s. Flash, my Neo and I suppose co-founder is 9 now. She still has moments where she acts like a puppy but she is old, and it shows. I’m taking her to the vet next week, and I’m pretty sure she has cancer. I’ve been blessed in that she has been remarkably healthy especially for a Neo. The worst thing I’ve had to deal with is a broken toe, and a UTI here and there. She’s travelled across the US with me. She’s seen more things than most humans. She has lived on ranches, horse farms, and cities. She has driven down through Mexico and back with me. She saved my life. Literally. So as I sit here and ponder the possible results of the vet visit to come, I can’t help but tear up. I owe her everything. She wore my sobriety medallion on her collar for years. All I can say is that it’s a shame dogs don’t live as long as people. I don’t know any of you, and I don’t have to, but I’m gonna need y’all when it’s time to let her go. Enjoy your time with these incredible giants. I know I have mine. I’ve been looking for a couple of years for a puppy. I’m picking one up this weekend. Something deep down just told me it was time. She’s a Neo/Great Dane mix. I’m looking forward to a new adventure. Sorry for the long winded post.

TLDR; I’m trying to come to grips with the final stage of my best friends life.

Looking for an ACA female.

We lost our sweet baby Fia last fall and are looking for breeders so that we can purchase another Neo. We love these dogs and want to give a loving home.

Spartacus if my shelter BFF. Can you help find him a home? (ATX)

Hi everyone. I’m a volunteer at Austin Pets Alive and the proud virtual foster of Spartacus. This basically means I’m his personal advocate to find his perfect fur-ever home! This big boy needs a special home so I am reaching out to every community I can think of.

Spartacus is a goofy guy and totally sweet with people. I walk him a few times a week and though he can be charmingly stubborn about not going directions he doesn’t want to go, he’s generally very good on leash and has never actively pulled me. Even in the mayhem of our barking dogs he does not lunge or react to other dogs as we pass by their kennels. Once we get to a play yard, he just wants to hang out and get pets.

Spartacus does need to be the only dog in his house. He is not inherently reactive to dogs but when he does get into scuffles (as a lot of dogs do every once in a while), he is extremely difficult to interrupt because of his size. He also has some chronic issues with his skin that will be quite costly to adopters. We are working on a solution/answer for this now.

I know the right home is out there for him in the community of big dog lovers. Unfortunately APA! does not do out of state adoptions and I believe we are only allowed to adopt out within a 60-mile radius. Please, even if you can’t take this sweet boy in, spread the word and help me help him find his home: https://www.austinpetsalive.org/adopt/dogs/apa-a-76483

Thank you all,

Spartacus and TJ

Working line neapolitan mastiff breeders in the UK

I hate to see the jabba the hut in a neo. I would like to know if anyone knows a legit breeder who breeds working line neos and not the show nonsense ,in the UK or anywhere else if the handle international deliveries.

Clumsiest dog ever! Always stepping and laying on the little one. But she’s growing out of it and he’s starting to learn to watch out haha.
