I’m currently living out of state and am hoping to move back to California soon – within the next four years. I was thinking about buying an acreage in Napa County and putting a few airstreams on it. (Like 3 or 4). Are there any regulations against doing this on your own land? Who do I ask?
I'm going to Napa soon and I was wondering if hiring a driver is really the best option (cost seems high for us) to go to 1 or 2 wineries and a couple of restaurants.
We have a car rented, but since I'll be drinking I don't want to drive around and was wondering if there are any alternatives (like shuttles) to hiring a driver or getting a tour.
Appreciate the help!
Hey everyone, I'll be in Napa with my gf and our moms and we're looking for 1 or 2 wineries to visit. We're not wine experts and we're more interested in vibes and views rather than wine quality. If there's a tour on top of tasting that'd be a plus!
My husband (30m), myself (28f), and child (3) are possibly relocating from SoCal, where we grew up. We’ve lived in many places, including Tampa, Denver, Hawaii, and all over SoCal. I’m curious about the quality of life for a young family. I will be a stay at home mom or part time employed, while my husband is full time. We always rent apartments. We aren’t big on wine, but food and beer are very big for us. We are outdoors people who love camping and hiking, and are very down to earth. How would Napa be for people like us? What stereotypes are actually accurate and what isn’t? Thank you!
Edit to add: the job is in Napa, so we would be looking around a 30 mile radius for an apartment. Driving for entertainment, food and activities isn’t an issue for us!
Anyone have local gift cards to restaurants they’d like to sell? I’d love to buy! This isn’t a scam I live by Browns Valley Market and know about the Re-Bobs lol.
Hi all, I know there is a pinned with everyone's favorites, but it looks like it's mainly from a couple years ago.
I saw that Angele was highly recommended. Would you all recommend that over something like La Toque?
Looking for a decent sparkling winery for today close to Napa, not looking to travel too far. We did Domaine Carneros and Mumm.
Any recommendations?
Hi all, my girlfriend and I will be road tripping through CA in June, and we want to stay in Napa valley for one night.
I have this vision of a winery, ideally in the countryside, where we would have a wine tasting overlooking the vines, after which we could sleep there, kind of like a rustic B&B.
We have tried looking online, but we can basically only find high-end, expensive options for this. We are just out of college so we prefer something on the simpler and cheaper side. A wine tasting and a bed is basically all we want, we don't need a whole hotel with spa etc. We have the money to pay a fair price for the wine and sleeping, we just don't want to spend a bunch extra for these luxurious experiences.
So, does anyone have any tips?

Thinking St Helena, Yountville, Calistoga, Rutherford, and Oakville. Not considering downtown Napa. Preferably a resort with spa, in room dining, and topnotch service.
Hello I am a student a Napa Valley College I am doing a project on Sikh Religion and need to interview three people, I haven’t had any success with the temples in the area. The class is about community policing, the individual can stay anonymous, but if anyone knows anyone from the Sikh Religion who is willing to be interviewed it would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone could turn me to another area nearby where I may be more successful, Thank you!
Hi all!
Can this group recommend best boutique hotels in Napa/Sonoma with a spa attached that offer separate cottages similar to Carneros?
Carneros is beautiful, but might be on the higher end of my price range, so wondering if there are other options that compare.
Thanks in advance!
A family member had a very bad experience at a hospital (Errors in surgery, poor treatment from nurses) and is looking to file a malpractice suit. Can anyone recommend a good lawyer in Napa County for this?
Hi! Visiting Napa Valley with friends soon. We love fun, funky spots with unique wines that we can’t find elsewhere. We’re very excited to try Tank Garage and Kivelstadt. Where else should we go that fits that vibe?
Love wine but on a bit of a budget coming from Australia with a terrible exchange rate. Hoping to check out a couple of wineries known for sparking wine that offer tastings that won’t break the bank 🙏🏻
Currently looking for the best Tri-Tip in Napa or St. Helena. Sandwich preferred but open to a plate as well. Hopefully a place that's open Monday. Tried to do some searches but only discussions of tipping came up.
Daughters requested that we go to a restaurant for their birthday dinner. They’re turning 3 so I’m looking for a place that sings Happy Birthday. Is this even a thing anymore??
Growing up in New Mexico has ruined me, nothing can ever compete.
I’ve tried a handful around Napa with varying degrees of enjoyment, mostly mid. My absolute least favorite was the Winston’s breakfast burrito. Hit me with your favorite spots, bonus points if they serve them all day!
Does anyone know any empty parking spaces or areas where i can work on my car? I live in apartments and dont own a home or garage.
Celebrating 10 years of marriage! May flexible dates
Coming over from SF!
Please and thank you’
Hi all,
I will be in Napa Valley on Saturday and Sunday (April 27 & 28) to visit some wineries with my partner. I am looking for an intimate experience, high quality wine tasting (both in wine and the guide's expertise). Our wine tasting budget is up to $150 pp per day. I think we can probably do one tour on Saturday and another tour on Sunday. Would two tours per day be ambitious?
I am architect, so I really would like to spend time in well designed spaces that don't display an imitative chateau or Toscana castle architecture. I really appreciate beautiful landscape vistas in wineries. I enjoy traditional/historic architecture that don't feel tongue in cheek. However, I prefer more modern & sleek spaces. I would love to visit the Dominus Estate Winery, but I know they aren't open to public. Below is a list of what I thought would be good options. Please let me know of your thoughts on these!
Mostly red drinkers, but open to try new things. Any advice appreciated, thanks ya'll!
EDIT: to add way more detail than I thought I needed. Two people, we have two days and are casual. Not looking for some magical experience, just want to check out some nice wines, have a good time and relax. No frills necessary but always appreciate beauty. We are simple people and don't want to do a full day tour of 3+ wineries. We have spas and dinner planned already so not looking to fill a full days worth. Hope that's more helpful!
Hi All - We will be visiting Napa mid-May and are looking for a driver/car service for 4 people, one day only. We would like them to pick us up and transport us to our various stops and then drop us off at the end of the day. Any suggestions?
I've noticed recently that there's a number of pop up taco stands in Napa (several near In n Out, 1 across Toyota dealer, and 1 across Petco). Haven't tried any of them but for those who have, how are they? Is it cash only or do they take credit cards?
Also curious what's the story are behind these sudden pop up stands? None of them seem to be listed on Google Maps nor Yelp but they seem so popular lately judging by the crowds...
Edit: Thanks for all the responses/experiences! I'm definitely considering to try one out soon.
My girlfriend and I (26) are spending 1 night in downtown Napa in a few weeks celebrating her birthday. We're looking to do 3 vineyard visits during our 1 dull day there - we have lunch reservations at RH Yountville, and want to end the day at Spring Mountain Vineyard for our last tasting. I would like to work our way from south to north, given the geography of where we're starting the day, eating lunch, and finishing (Napa, Yountville, and St. Helena, respectively).
I'm looking for recommendations for some great wineries ideally with a tasting that costs less than $100 and have nice views. I'd like to book one "tour" of the estate/vineyard and one more relaxing setting where we sit and enjoy the scenery. We're neither picky nor experts when it comes to wine - we both like Cabernets and crisp whites.
All advice is appreciated! I'm truly overwhelmed with the options.
I posted this on facebook a couple weeks ago and so many people reached out with questions about the program that I quickly realized that it is not well known.
This CALHFA (California Housing Finance Agency) program is NOT for everyone but if you fit the box and win the assistance it can be a GREAT opportunity! Let me break it down for you and help answer any questions you may have.
I plan on going to Napa Valley some time next week by myself. A simple Google search gives me a ton of different huts and it's honestly a bit overwhelming. It seems a lot of the wine tours are for groups? Are there any for solo travelers? I'm also trying to see if there are any hotels that collaborate with wine tour companies. Any and all tips/suggestions/recommendations are welcome. Thank you in advance!
