As the title says
Again. Thankfully it was the two idiot drivers hitting eachother and no one else was injured. Yellow means slower, not faster.
I am in New York City and heading back home to Nanaimo on Wednesday with direct flight to YVR. The plane arrives at 9:17pm at YVR. The last ferry is 10:45pm from Tsawwassen. My plan is to catch an Uber from YVR airport to ferry terminal as foot passenger. My father will be picking me up in Nanaimo. Is this too tight?
I do have a NEXUS card which would help with customs and timing. I only have 1 luggage to carry and it's just myself.
Thanks
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for a good auto body shop in Nanaimo. I need some work done on the front fender of my car and also need to replace a windshield with a small chip. Any trusted local shops you’d recommend? Bonus points for great service and fair prices. Thanks in advance! 😊
Does anyone know how much it is to rent boots and skis at mount Washington? I can’t find it anywhere on the website!
Lookin for some all weather tires for my truck, thinkin fountain tire but anywhere else to look?
Out of economic necessity my family and I are moving to Nanaimo from the states. Both my father in law and my wife are Canadian and US citizens. But neither have their BC services cards(obviously) until they get there and wait for them the 90 days.
This question is for anyone who can help me understand the best way to get cardiac monitoring care for my father in law who is 80. He has several medications he takes regularly.
If anyone can please help me understand the best way to ensure he receives heart monitoring could you please let me know? He’s worried about it and I’d like to reassure him with a plan. I don’t mind traveling far, even to Victoria if necessary, but I’d like to have some sense of how to figure this out before we get there. Any help is much appreciate it.
I know there is a health care provider crisis on the Island. And I know some seem intent on saying things like “we are full, go away” whenever i ask questions like this so please spare me the banal sarcasm. I get it. I’m trying to help an elder not be scared of a move we have to make.
I’m moving to Nanaimo with my family next year. I’ve done research on precipitation and know it rains a lot and snows some. It’s harder to get a sense for when it generally snows and how much and how often. Any trends?
Any opinions out there on this based on experience living there? Thanks much in advance?
Hey all! I thought I’d make a post here as an experiment. I’m a hobby photographer interested in photographing people and looking to expand my portfolio. I’m most interested in photographing portrait/lifestyle, maternity/pregnancy, and people with their pets (especially this last one)!
I don’t yet have an online portfolio but I’m happy to provide some recent photos for a shoot I did for a friend so that you can get a sense of my style (think dramatic, moody, cinematic, but also happy). Photos would be taken outdoors in our beautiful surroundings and the shoot would be an hour to an hour and a half. You would be provided with 50 (or more) high quality edited photos.
If interested in getting some photos done for free please DM me with what you have in mind and we can connect further. The only “catch” is that you’d be okay with me adding some photos from our shoot to my instagram once I get my page up and running.
Thank you for reading :) please DM me with any questions
Edit: further to the comments below- for any shoots we would meet in a public space in daylight. Also ahead of time would be keen on meeting over zoom first so that you can decide for yourself if you want to work with me or not
Edit 2: thank you to everyone who messaged me! I have enough interest for now :)
I'm looking for part time evening and weekend work as a babysitter or nanny. I have over 20 years of experience and have my first aid and cpr certification. I want to give back this holiday season to folks who can't afford expensive childcare. Let's chat :)
Please give your honest view.
Hi everyone! I recently bought a 2014 Outback and I’m wondering where everyone goes for their maintenance. For oil changes I usually head down to Valvoline Express Care, which I highly recommend, but for anything else where do you guys go? Thanks neighbours.
Hi, I have decided to start doing uber eats but can’t find a particular ebike for it as bc has a limit that ebikes must be within 500W motors and usually 500W ebikes dont have such a great range so should I just get a regular ebike and get a separate battery pack for it so that I can increase the range of ebike or something else?
Like a lot of people in this community, I’m having a rough go. I was injured at work early October. Dealing with worksafeBC, they have told me my injury was a pre existing and don’t want to cover lost wages. I am going through the process of challenging the claim. Waiting for medical EI.
Christmas is coming and I have two girls (10 and 13)that I’m trying to not disappoint. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a truck and can do small dump runs. I have a background in construction and can handle some small jobs that don’t require lifting.
I would really appreciate any advice/support. Even positive vibes are helpful.
Thanks everyone
sounds like fun so, the weather isnt to bad so looking for somone to go with, im a 20 year old male.
Looking for others who have been harassed by this officer. When asked for the regulation he was pulling a vehicle off the road for, he was either unwilling or unable to provide when I asked if he was sure. All he said was "it's subjective". Children were terrified and crying their hearts out and his demeanor was highly inappropriate. Looking for history for lawsuit. Thanks in advance.
Just wondering. Where I’m originally from it’s only $2
I think it would be really helpful if hiring teams shared why an application wasn’t selected. It gives us a chance to see what we can improve on and do better next time, rather than saying unfortunately, we will not be moving with your application. Even a small explanation would mean a lot! You Agree or Not! Give your thoughts!
Looking for a black fine line / minimalistic tattoo artist. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations? The only artist I found so far is inkedbystephanie but she posts a lot of videos and hard to clearly see her work.
Edit: I don’t need any tattoos designed. I’m looking for fine-line script tattoos
Does anyone know of a society that is accepting donations of new, opened packages of diapers?
Hi!
My fiancé and I are looking at a unit for sale at 10 chapel street and the unit has a lot of cracks in the walls at random places. Anyone who lives have the same thing or even in your own house/building ? Do you know what this means? Should we be concerned?
I'm hoping that someone might know the answer to this, but why is there no upgrade option for the food and yard waste bins?
Landfill is bad so I can get a larger black garbage bin for $100/year.
Recycling is good so I can get a larger blue recycling bin for free!
Composting is even better, so I'm not allowed a larger bin?
Okay, there is a way. I can have a larger green bin if I say we have an additional suite and then pay additional water consumption and sewer fees. Some of the less government friendly folk might suggest that this is a way to either increase density or raise money. Maybe they're right, but if not I have to ask why the city of Nanaimo is intentionally adding barriers to a composting program.
Not trying to rock the boat, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard from the city about this question, I sent an email, but am apparently too impatient to wait for a reply.
