I know open enrollment is happening right now for many companies and individuals. So I decided to hop on to one of the insurance exchange sites. I put in my personal information (enough to get an accurate quote anyway). The site then showed me about 150 DIFFERENT insurance plans. The only "options" were: deductible, network, and cost. I decided to click on about a dozen different plans and read the details...I got really tired really quickly because within the details, there are more details to read. After about 3 hours of reading on these dozen plans, here is what I discovered. OOP (out of pocket maximum) is a feel good term, they all have several ways around it, "copays" don't apply towards your deductible, and "in network" doesn't necessarily mean you won't be charged out of network, because hospitals contract with many providers, and if one of those providers is out of network, that can "out of network" your entire procedure.
Bottom line: THIS SYSTEM IS BROKEN
Being healthy does not need to be this complicated. In fact, I'd bet that the stress of trying to understand how medical insurance works is detrimental to your health.
If you are shopping for your own insurance, or know a small to medium business who is trying to save money and provide for their employees, I now have access to Affordable Care Act compliant coverage that incorporates DPC coverage at a fraction of the cost of traditional health insurance.

Peterson Chrysler Dodge Jeep RamJeep Nampa, Idaho. A week ago,had simple oil change - they overfilled - called them, went back - they said that’s how ram trucks oil measures on the dipstick - above the line on the dipstick. Said he checked 3 trucks on lot, same year, the dipstick was high also. no answer when he was asked then why is there a safe/fill line? nothing. Claimed it couldn't be them because auto machine dispenses only so much and experienced tech. They didn't even drain ot to normal line.
It's just that way - is not an answer
Didnt believe him - so drained oil and it ended up being over a quart and a half over -
Not good for engines -
Response from the owner a week ago,we appreciate the feedback and apologize if there was a mishap with oil level settings. We will have our Service Director reach out regarding this concern. Peterson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
I wanted to let RAM director of service for the region know about it, unfortunately - getting a number and person at RAM is "ancient Chinese secret" they want you to go thru CS group - that got me no where.
NO RESPONSE - NO CARES GIVEN
Read this in a recent news article:
. Walker Consultants, a private engineering and planning business, analyzed Nampa’s parking.
In their findings, a need for future parking management was noted.
The group’s recommended plans also prioritized access to downtown businesses. Free parking spots could be converted to metered spots that charge more than the downtown parking garage.
Nampa- learn from Caldwell - There is no parking problem downtown!
Blair Family Health is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic at 216 12th Ave Rd and we are accepting new patients.
Landscaping Recommendations
Hey All! We are looking for a reputable but (hopefully) affordable landscaping company that you may recommend. We have a lot of work to do with a blank canvas of nothing but dirt after purchasing a new home. Thank you for your help!
Any recommendations on spots that will have the Sunday ticket and also a decent brunch/lunch? Would like to take the kiddo, so all ages if possible.
Hi all, I’m concluding a long tour of the west side of Idaho in Nampa and finishing with a concert on Sept 3rd at Ford Idaho Center.
Just wondering if there are any free areas/streets to park near the concert venue? I don’t mind a long walk. I see the College of Western Idaho is fairly close, can I park there or would I be ticketed/towed? I’ll be parked for about 5 hours starting 7:30pm. And should I be worried about my car being broken into?
Thanks all!
-a southeast Idahoan excited to tour your side of the state:)
Are there any fun places to get a Christmas tree? Maybe one where you can chop it down yourself and/or has other fun activities? I'm imagining the Lowe Family Farmstead pumpkin patch but Xmas version.

I've been doing it for just an hour a day and making around $300 per week. It's a straightforward way to earn extra cash without any hassle.
Any recs? Going to be a Thanksgiving guest and don't want to show up empty handed
Have they set up their pop up in Nampa yet? I see the usual spot in the Marketplace is Snake River Spa.
Would appreciate recs! I'm learning Yelp in Nampa is very limited.
Does anyone know of a park that unlocks there restrooms in the winter? The Boise rescue mission makes everyone lease and it’s a struggle to find a bathroom to use when I need to use it. I use the one at work four days a week but on my 2 or 3 days off it’s such a struggle at 7am and having no where to have a healthy bowl movement. Of course I can use McDonald’s or something but I cannot loiter there and the library doesn’t open until the afternoon. I’ve tried and tried to find housing that’s a good fit and I’m still trying but the very important things are not supplied to the homeless in nampa and it feels devastating sometimes.

Does anyone know of any local adult group tennis classes or private instructors that don't cost a fortune? I've only been able to find contact info for one person in Nampa online...
I am thinking about doing a church tour, visiting different denominations around town. Does anyone have any suggestions on which churches I should visit?
Does anyone know of any rescues in or around the Nampa area that help rescue 2 euthanasia listed dogs from Riverside, CA? We have both the foster in Nampa, and the SoCal rescue to do pull and trasnport. All we need is a rescue in Nampa to help the foster on that side and get these cute lovebugs adopted. We are also raising money for them to help the rescue.
Gloria is a 4 year old formerly pitbull breeder dog that was used then disposed of. Baby is a sweet 3 year old pittie who was bonded with her Husky friend Nala but left behind when Nala was adopted. Both are up for euthanasia tomorrow so any help will quite literally save their lives. No one in SoCal has stepped up so help us if you can.

Does anyone know if there are any ski areas that will be open the first weekend of November? Does it snow that early?

I learned a LOT from reading this:

Hello :) I have really been wanting to sell some sweet/ normal breads. I want to price them low enough so people that see me, can afford homemade bread over the grocery store bread. I know the laws around items and what/ how I can sell, but I really need help (if anyone has any tips) on: Where can I sell it?
I'd want to sell in my street next to a road. I live in a Nampa neighborhood with apartment complexes and near a road (near northwest Nazarene university). I have tried to research and call the department of health and the zoning people, but I haven't gotten a full answer
I'm sorry if this doesn't match the subreddit, or if I didn't oblige to any rules here.
Thank you to anyone who has read this :)
Where do the locals go?
