Sorry for the all caps . I know some Believe that psilocybin is sent from aliens or the gods or other things like that are scientifically impossible.
While reading a genetic study about Psilocybe mushrooms from University of Utah , They mentioned that psilocybin mushrooms most likely came about at a time when slugs and slug-like creatures were the dominant species. They hypothesize that psilocybin was developed as a way to deter from getting eaten by these slugs. While picking cyan mushrooms and looking at posts, it seems like there is very little if any damage from slugs. I know how voracious slugs can be to mushrooms and seems to be just slight slug damage. Even wild cubensus and Pan cyan seem to have little slug damage.
Thoughts? Anyone seen half eaten Psilocybe mushrooms or am I crazy
Thanks for tips just exprerimenting
So I decided to hit this guy up u/Slice_Vegetable for a trade. Sent him half a dozen nice button cactus in exchange for a dozen spore swabs. After he confirmed he received them and the last transmission I had of him was that he had already sent me the swabs on November 11th. I’m still waiting like a dumbass. I can’t even no longer see his posts, comments or abouts, he blocked me in order to ghost me, a way to silently tell me to fuck off after I sent him my trade first. He dropped outta radar but still has his account, I can see this trough a friends account and therefore know he is active and I was indeed blocked from knowing when he was last active. This was November 11th. They say the proof is in the pudding. Fortunately I have screenshots of our entire convo thread, shipping details and name to prove just that in case anyone wishes to see it or doubts. We both live in Texas which is why I call bullshit on him sending them considering time past. Never received a track number or further contact from him. Again, I know it’s intentional because this jerk blocked me from seeing his posts or comments in order to not allow me to see his online presence and flat out ghost me to avoid dealing with me. Took my package and ran, pretty shitty move. Deal with this guy at your own risk. Im scratching him off my book but he is tagged in this post and my bud did DM him the link to this post in case he wishes to explain and make things right then I can apologize and delete this post, otherwise he can live up to a reputation of a “Persona Non Grata” as far as I’m concerned. Landon, I’m calling you out directly, reach out to me if you wish to resolve this, Otherwise posts stay up as a warning to others. Thanks for reading this and be safe.
P.S. I’m posting this to all the mycology subs he’s joined to get his attention and make my point.
Good day y’all
Hello!! I am wondering how I should make my bins? Last one I did I think had to made air holes bc it dried up and I watered it a ton. Also got contaminated, I think due to bad spores and Amazon spawn bag. So how many holes should I have on a small container? Should I use an air filter while in the growing process? Should I use 91% iso? Can I use a non clear top bin? I need some help!! I just lost $300 bc my big grow of APE got trich and I had to dump it it out:( please help me with the bin process!
Where should I buy top quality spores from?
I am growing APE number two, I have been extremely careful about contams and somehow gotten the green one. I tried to remove the very first bit of it, and sprayed down the area with isopropyl alcohol. What else can I do to prevent this? Let me know!
Does this make u wet baby lol 😝
I love working genetics I have become very good at it and now have 21 genetics in my library now! hard work always pays off dm meh
Hi everyone! 🌱🍄
I’m diving into an ambitious project: cultivating Amanita Muscaria and other ecto-mycorrhizal fungi (like boletes and morels) indoors under controlled conditions. This project involves recreating the symbiotic environments these fungi require, including introducing Mycorrhizal Helper Bacteria (MHB) to assist in fostering growth.
Here’s what I’m working on so far:
This project has been such a rewarding and educational experience so far, and I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or advice. Thanks in advance for your input, and happy growing! 🍄
Normally I get patches of huge fruit from JMF. Switched up genetics and this time got a thick pin set that developed a dense flush of small to medium fruits.
First of all, mods, of this is not the right place to ask this, please feel free to remove.
Hey everyone, I was hoping you could pay to rest an anxiety I have around starting from spore;
This question also applies to breeding from monokariotic mycelium.
So to my understanding is that things like inoculating BRF cakes with spores, the intention in many cases is to discover novel strains/mutations.
So here's the question; How do you know, that you have not isolated/bred a genetic that is poisonous/dangerous to human health?
In my mind, all kingdoms and species must have gone from somewhere, and many of those through breeding in the wild, I'm not tied to that mindset.
Those of you creating new strains/searching for new strains, are you somehow testing your strains somehow? Other than blind consumption?
Here's my first flush
Started it on Nov 6th. My best agar results are always from transplanting a single colonized grain spawn to the agar. This seems to catch the mycelium at a great point for aggressive rhizo expansion.
