I know the Lovetone Meatball was responsible for the sweeping filter effect heard, wonder if anyone has attempted to re-make this with or without the meatball!
Hey everyone!
I was planning on ordering some stuff from the MBV merch website, but I had to take a step back once I saw the shipping costs. I ordered:
And the shipping costs came out to $84USD. That around $110CAD, as I'm Canadian. Is this normal? I really don't want to have to pay nearly half the price of what I ordered in shipping, let alone duties and taxes when it arrives, but I really want the records. Is there someone I should contact about this? Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks so much in advance!
Some time ago I've listen on youtube a live bootleg of "Soon", with very punchy drums, almost like a drum machine. It had a yellow picture of them, but somehow I can't find it anymore. Do you know what I'm talking about?
Has a proper recording of that 1 off Kevin solo gig in 2017 (at the Sigur Ros festival) ever surfaced? I’ve only ever seen tiny bits and pieces.
I have a boss katana with a whole bunch of effects, but I just wanted to ask, for fuzz or distortion, is a boss ds-1 a alright pedal for it?
It’s probably one of my favorite songs of all time and in my 17 years of life I’ve never heard anything else like it. Bro I can legit breakdown within like 10 seconds into the song I really don’t know what it is, I heard it first in lost in translation and I been an mbv fan ever since; did they put like depression crack into this or some shit cause holy fuck man
I just started producing around a month ago so I have a long ways to go and I was just studying some of my favorite artists music.
One of my biggest questions is how does MBV make their music come off so complex when the music itself is so simple. It’s usually just a chord progression on a guitar, VOX, and some sampled drums. However the music comes off so incredibly intricate and detailed. What do they do that makes it so entertaining?
Someone do one of Kevin.
So I was listening to the Vancouver 92 boot, aka Loom, earlier today, and while the fidelity is really good, I feel like it could be better. I know the vocals are never the focus of an MBV song, though they’re important, so I like being able to hear the vocals no matter how quiet they are. So, with Loom/Vancouver 92 as a starting point, are there better live recordings of MBV that could suggested? Thank you.
I ordered a t-shirt the other day from their merch store and assumed the shipping charge of $22 was due to them coming from the UK. But then I got the tracking number which showed it shipped from Michigan, so I messaged store support asking why it was so expensive.
I got a reply today saying "We've just updated the postage options so USPS ground advantage should now show for you, which is a cheaper option." Doesn't help me now and still doesn't explain why they're charging $22 for Priority Mail, but I thought I'd share this here since people were balking at the high cost. And I can't believe this is what got them to update the options...
hi i’ve listened to this album about a hundred times over but im wondering what the preferred eq settings are? or how kevin intended it to be listened to. here are my settings^
