What is Baker (black) thinking?

Yes I understand the urgency of the problem. But it seems that the sub has been taken over by dogs on the verge of execution. I'm not well-funded enough to help, or even adopt a second dog. Seeing posts on this sub has changed from "look at my mutt" to misery. I have left this sub for this reason.  I wish you the best of luck in finding homes, getting funding for fosters, neither of which I can assist.

Please Help! These 38 wonderful dogs of all ages are red-listed for euthanasia due to space tomorrow (4/8) in San Antonio, TX. Anything you can do to spread the word, pledge money for their rescue [link in comments], foster or adopt would mean the world to these pups & us. Dogs at risk:

This is Charlie. We always wanted to do a DNA test, but he just recently passed very unexpectedly from an aggressive tumor rupturing. If you had to guess, what would you say this handsome guy is? I don’t have any pics of him standing head on, but he had very broad shoulders. The shelter said he was a beagle mix, but I’ve never seen a brindle coat on a beagle

Great Dane mix

Alice is half pitbull and half whippet. Hopefully she’s allowed here. Either way today is her 10th birthday. I tried to take a nice picture but it didn’t turn out too well. She was scared of the balloons and didn’t like her crown. She only ate her meatballs and peanut butter treats after I left the room because she didn’t want to be seen enjoying them. She ran around the house with the meatballs in her mouth whimpering because she was so excited. She won’t really play with her stuffed chicken yet. The one balloon I really liked that said “happy birthday” popped. The other two didn’t float like I thought, and I didn’t really have anywhere to hang them. Either way, I think she enjoyed herself somewhat.

Any guesses on the breed??

My friend ended up with him in December when a homeless man handed him to her. He was very sweet but unfortunately neither of us could care for him as both of us already have reactive dogs, so she brought him to the shelter. 

I keep watch on the shelters page for him, and in the months being there he's blossomed. However he still hasn't found a home so I wanted to share this in the hopes of reaching a wider audience and just maybe get him adopted! He's already done so well in the shelter, imagine what he could become with a real home!

I wanted to share Wrigley, a beautiful sweet Lab-rottie mix pup in Toronto, Canada needing a home!

I’ve had this pretty young girl two weeks. She’s between 1 & 2, came to me from a Rosarito Beach based rescue & her personality is slowly blossoming.  I think she’s got a good chunk of Golden, as her fur is silky soft & she’s starting to get floofs. She is terribly afraid of sudden movements, in particular seems afraid of hands, looks like she was bitten on her nose & I can’t get a leash on her. I’ve been putting it on the ground with her treats all around it & not rushing, but eventually I’m going to need  (and I want) to take her on walks. Any suggestions welcome!

They say he’s a Boxer + Rottweiler. Got him in November right after he turned 1. This week he killed a family of baby bunnies. Other than that, he’s a good boy.

He may not win an AKC dog show, and he might “attack” bicycle riders & vacuum cleaners, but I would choose him any time and day. My #1 pick of the litter

Update on my rescue, Chester. He's definitely come out of his shell and putting on weight.  So proud of him and I love his big personality.
